One star is being very generous. I like to think I'm savvy but I got caught here looking for a cheaper deal.
Like others I ordered and then found reviews for the company; I requested a cancellation by email within 30 minutes.

The problem is they provide no Pre Contract Information; no information on their cancellation returns process and no cancellation form. The following day (Monday) they denied any receipt of a cancellation (despite replying to one of the requests) and stated 'as the order had been processed it would be hard to cancel; you can always refuse delivery.

The laptop arrived the following day, having been posted after their reply to my email. I have sent numerous emails today requesting the returns procedure and address with no response.

The address on the Website (Ireland) does not seem to exist (no post code) and clearly states not a return address. I have issued a cancellation request via recorded delivery on advice of Citizens Advice so we'll see if that gets anywhere.

The only hope I have is a dispute open with PayPal which has held the funds from the seller. The laptop is sitting unopened (I'm just not willing to take a £300 gamble) and I have requested that the seller arranges collection at their own cost.

Update:
PayPal dispute process was brilliant; they withheld funds and I had the laptop so the CLC had to provide with a return address or lose the money and Laptop.
So for anyone who needs it here's their returns process and address (as at 06 Januay 2021)

This company is ran by con artists. The product arrived, worked sort of for a week before the screen went. I then started to contact them but they said it’s outside the 14days. Citizens advice advised that I have 30 days, cheaplaptops just ignored me. I got my bank Halifax involved which then changed their attitudes. It’s disgrace, do not buy from these jokers.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Bought a laptop and software not installed, battery last 10 minutes and the laptop was all sticky. Laptop was also slower than my 2002 unit and this one was a 2012 model.

Spy software also install.Opened a paypal case immediately and did not wait for all the bull crap.

Waste of time and effort. Company is based in the UK.

I purchased Laptop from this company. The photo was great looking online when I ordered. Once I received completely different. key board was not working. I emailed to them within 14 days of received , I would like to return back. No reply from them, After one month I sent another mail, They says Its out of 14 days return policy. I haven't used not even 2 weeks. Total waste of money. Dear public from my own experience please do Not buy anything from this company. Its one of the modern way of steeling money from the public.

Extremely unhelpful. Product arrived with keys not working correctly on the keyboard. No help given even though a warranty was purchased. Do not buy these over priced laptops and spend your money elsewhere.

I purchased a laptop from this company which arrived during about the first week in October. I used it for about ten days and it developed a fault which a company representative described as "sounds like a graphics fault". They suggested that i return it for a replacement but I preferred a refund and a Parcelforce returns label was emailed. The promise was that the refund would arrive between five and seven days after their receipt of the computer. The tracking system indicated that the package arrived at the Parcelforce depot and was collected on 16th October. I reminded the company about the refund by email three times. The final response was a curt "You will receive the refund within five to seven days. I allowed eleven calendar week days before I sent another email citing a Paypal dispute, reference to Citizen's Advice, a report to Trading Standards and, finally, the ombudsman in that order if the refund was not forthcoming. Paypal informed me of their receipt of same by "return of email".

I bought a laptop from This con man in 2017 and it annoys me to see that despite so many negative reviews that eBay still allow them to trade on their site . I returned the laptop and eBay lost me £150.00

Just a quick warning to anyone considering using The Cheap Laptop company. I bought a lap top from them recently that was described as "slimline and light weight" but when it arrived it was very heavy and because of my fibromyalgia my wrists couldn't hold it very well. On top of this there was a part missing from the back and it was dirty and sticky. I therefore sent the laptop back as it was not as described. They sent me back return details but insisted that it had to be a certain delivery which cost me £22.50. I have at last now received a refund for the lap top but they are refusing to refund the postage as they said I "admitted that the lap top was too heavy for my wrists" YES....Because you described it as light weight and slim line! grrrr would like to take this further but for £22.50 it hardly seems worth it! But just wanted to warn everyone.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!

They sold my Grandad an i5 laptop, it was delivered without a charger and was an i3 instead. It doesn't even have Windows installed. I tried booting from a Windows disk but still no luck (seems to be hardware fault). They have ignored all emails and voicemails. The Cheap Laptop Company WILL RIP YOU OFF! They are selling mislabelled broken laptops.

Ordered a Laptop and subsequently told that the item was not available, offered an alternative and again the completely wrong laptop was sent. I have emailed and three months later I have still not received a refund.

Totaly hopeless will not answer the phone will not reply to emails have had to go to credit card company to stop payment, as PayPal absolutely useless.do not get caught as a PayPal guest as you will find it impossible to get help, also your contact email on your receipt to get in touch with them will bounce back as unavailable avoid at all cost

i read the description
it was what I wanted and I bought
BUT on receipt the DVD drive was broken
THEY ARGUED THAT THEIR description had not referred to a DVD drive and thus too bad
I had to explain that they had sold by the products name and that implied the whole thing
Eventually they agreed to a return
i paid for the return
Eventually, after I chased them, they made the refund
I have yet to be refunded the cost of the return.
Would you do business with such a company ?

I wouldn't trust these guys one little bit!!!

The sent me a laptop which broke two weeks later and as I had given my old one away and was trying to run a business they wouldn't pay for the maintenance I had to get done to fix their problem!!

David replied with this "There is a standard process to repair or replace faulty laptops and we are unable to deviate from this unfortunately.

Perhaps the best way forward would be for you to return that laptop for a refund and source another laptop locally so that you can work today and over the weekend".

How about send out fully working computers!!

Ordered two laptops for my kids. Made spec mistake on ordering and requested amendment. Team were very quick to get back and amend order. Arrived on time and on-spec. Decently-packaged and clean. No problems so far. Very pleased.

Very poor communication and costumer service. Given 2 stars, because at the end managed to get a full refund. It took a long email chain and all the legal background. Citizen Advice helped a lot, so if you've got any issues, turn to them.

Avoid, do not place an order with this company. Why, I ordered and received promptly a laptop. I had to send it back 2 days later for repair. A repair was supposedly carried our and the computer arrive back quickly. It did not work on arrival. Sent back again and a replacement computer was sent, surprise surprise this did not work either. I was sent another computer with the promise that the technicians would ensure it was properly checked. A different fault this time the keyboard keys produced different signs on certain keys, I had to phone again and had to have them connect with the computer and sort it. So after 2 repairs and 3 computers it was finally sorted. In all I had a computer (not working) for 4 days and was refused a refund, still waiting for accessories

I ordered a laptop, a week later I'm still getting emails offering additions even though I had indicated I did not want any. The laptop arrives late and is scratched and filthy which in the current climate is not good. I returned the laptop asking for a full refund and they charged me 10%. Any correspondence is via email and you will not get someone on the phone. The equipment is reasonable and at a good price but overall it is a terrible company from a service perspective dont use them.

Laptop sent was in a very poor condition. The company offers a refund with 14days. However ask for a 10% restock charge not mentioned at all under return policy. I had to pay to send it back so £13 pounds out of pocket but could have been much worst. I went through paypal buyer protection in the end and got a full refund. You try to give a small business a chance , almost got my fingers burnt on this one!!!

Even one star is too much. Absolute rip off. The laptop arrived and I was in total shock. I expected a bit of cosmetic wear and tear but this was way above that. It looked like it has come out of a skip. Cracked, badly scratched, looked like it had been dropped on end, paper labels all over the back partly torn off but no attempt made to even make it look good. Absolutely appalling customer service. Didn't really give a damn. Said it was advertised as cracked (ad had been removed) but had it been I wouldn't have ordered it! No apology, or offer of replacement. Told I was aggressive when I told them my opinion on the state of it. I had to pay the return but refused to pay the restocking charge. Awful company!!!!

I bought a Lenovo laptop Windows7. I bought an update elsewhere to upgrade to Windows10but could not get it to download. I contacted firm and they sent return labels. The item was passed to UPS. After 7 weeks I contacted Cheap Laptops to question delay. They denied receiving it even after providing Proof of Delivery with signature. They denied that the signee worked for them and could not trace receipt.
I am left with no computer or refund. What a load of tossers. If I had checked the reviews page I would never have dealt with this gang of crooks.Rating of 1 is a great estimation of this firm.
