Absolute deceptions, please refrain from purchasing anything from these websites. I remitted £5.95 in March 2025, and they subsequently withdrew £39.90 in April 2026, with an attempt to debit more in... See more

I wanted to check out a car I was planning on buying. This site appeared and I paid for the search, which was at a fair discounted price of £5.95. Payment went through, and I thought that was that.
The following day, another payment went through for £39.90. This seems to be a scam site. AVOID at all costs. Now I am having to go through the process of cancelling cards, etc

AVOID, I got suckered into the £39 subscription. Tried to use the email termination, but couldn’t recognise my email address even though it was the one I logged in with.
Had to call them, and though they answered quickly, the operator was insistent that I was the one in the wrong and it was clear in their website. Reading their reviews there must be a lot of blind people out there.
Operator cancelled my “subscription” without so much of an apology and refused to refund.
I wish I read these reviews before I was suckered in by this low price for a one of report.

Used this company to check a car we were buying. We actually searched for car vertical, but this company came up and had the 'tag line' car vertical. Purposely misleading straight from the start! Be warned, using this company will result in you being signed up to a subscription of £39 a month, not at all clear on their website, and deliberately misleading.

Thought I was checking a vehicle history with a reputable company. Got charged about £5.99 for a report that was useless with no more details on it than I was able to find out on the DVLC for free (I suspect that is where they pull the info they give you from).
Several months later I was trying to track a payment for some electronic components and noted a £39.99 per month going out to something I did not recognise. It seems they charge it afterwards for as long as you don't notice it going out. Utter scamers of a company.

Offers a car check for £5.95. Which seems good value but the check is very limited then hits you with a £39.99 charge the next day. SCAM!!!

This it’s worth company ever I have experience they want to take money from my account £39 and then try it again the following day to take £45 please don’t trust this company

I was charged a monthly subscription fee of £39.90/£39.99 without my knowledge or consent. I only intended to purchase a single report, and I never signed up for any recurring payments. This is a complete scam and a theft of my money. I demand an immediate full refund. I have already reported this fraudulent activity to my bank. Avoid this website at all costs!

Same a lot of people here fell for the sneaky tactic of charging £39 for an unwanted subscription, impossible to cancel and written in a minuscule text just below the £5 pound charge. It's unbelievable that such scamming companies are allowed to operate.

Be careful, I fell for the £39 a month scan as did many others, I managed to cancel the subscription eventually. Now 14 months later they charge me again out of the blue with no warning, using the same card details as a recurring payment. Nothing for 14 months then this. Reported to the bank as fraud. I have had to cancel my card and order a new one to prevent them using the same number. Absolute thieves

It's a scam website. Not sure how they got our credit card details and keep charging a monthly subscription of 39.99£ till we blocked out credit card.

One more unsuspecting punter who experienced an unexpected monthly subscription charge of £39.90 following the attempted purchase of a single £5.95 report. Luckily, HSBC's Fraud team caught it for me.
I usually check everything on TrustPilot before purchasing and very rarely get caught out, but this site was similar enough in name and appearance to a reputable one that I have used previously that I thought I was using that. Lesson learned.
I believe that this organisation is in breach of various aspects of marketing legislation, consumer contracts regulations and the Data Protection Act 2018.

As everyone else mentions, this company is a scam and then steal money from your account. I paid £5.95 to check a used car registration number. Three months later I notice a direct debit for £39 going out of my account to HP Check My Car Ireland. Contacted my bank Barclays who canceled the DD's and are investigating through Fraud. Dodgy company and the owners should be put away for years.

Just like the rest of the victims. They signed me up to a monthly subscription of £39.90 I wasn't aware of, until I seen 2 months of payments taken from my bank. No email notifications of subscription or payments taken. The subscription is purposely well hidden on their website to trick customers into there deceitful practices. If they were genuine, they would actually take action on customer reviews and actually amend their website to make it much much clearer, regarding monthly subscriptions. Of course that hasn't been done as this is how they are making their money by bad ethics and morals. Shameful.
Their email responses seems generic. Using "dear customer", not even using my name. Never heard back from them when I requested a refund. Do not use.

Paid a one off payment of 5.95 to check my car. A day later they tried to take 39.90 out of my bank, only for the bank informing me they had put a stop on the card I wouldn't have known. I phoned the company and asked why they had done this, she said it was an automatic subscription because I had made the 5.95 payment. She was all made up with herself when she said she had cancelled it (big wow as I didn't sign up for it in the first place) told her it was a big scam to which she said "no it isnt" and put the phone down. Stay AWAY from this company. Its theft in a legal way. If I could have given it 0 I would have done as the don't even deserve the 1. Be warned and read all the reviews

I’ve been scammed by this company they are sharks and don’t deserve to be running a company

This scum of a company charged my card for £39.90, I've never used this website ever, put in every single email address I own to see if there was some sort of subscription linked to this website, of course not a single email has been used with the company.
They tried to charge my card for the exact same amount on 24th Jan 2025 but under the company name CHECKMYCAR1. Obviously I've disputed with my card and will be refunded
But everyone needs to know this company is full of fraudsters that are sold stolen card details from a third party, police investigation pending on these lot.
EDIT
Ignore the automated robotic replies, no email address was used on their platform, or they’re malicious and clear account history which you will notice from several other negative reviews.
You scammed the wrong person!

Scammers
They subscribe you to a monthly payment without clearly informing you of this.

Please be careful with this website. It's a scam. Takes your details and takes money of your card. Wipes everything off. Luckily I had a good protection to alert me on time and stopped it.
Do not buy their £5 car checker, it's cheap for a reason
