Absolute deceptions, please refrain from purchasing anything from these websites. I remitted £5.95 in March 2025, and they subsequently withdrew £39.90 in April 2026, with an attempt to debit more in... See more

Same as others here. Paid for car check one off payment. The 2 days later the tried taking £39 against the same card. Bank stopped it. But need New card now.
Clearly a bunch of thieving scammers.

Scammed into a subscription without telling me. Luckily my bank stopped the payment. Avoid.

BEWARE - This business claimed to run hpi checks and claimed to charge £1.95. THEY ARE NOT HPI AND DO NOT PROVIDE AN HPI CHECK + They then charged a further £39 in addition. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

As others have said total scam and information provided is either incorrect or wrong. Charge you £5.99 for an utterly rubbish report and then a separate charge of £39.90 as a subscription.

If there was less than 1 star I would leave it. I paid for a single car check 4 months ago and ive been paying £39.90 since then and ive only just realised!!!! Ive used HPI checks in the past and never been caught out like this. THIS IS CLEARLY A SCAM whatever way they butter it up. I will try the number provided and I will notify my bank.

EVEN after 3 months of trying to cancel and blocking my bank card. these idiots are still trying to steal money

Reply from Checkmycar
Absolute thieves. Spoke to them just now, they have been taking money out of my account. Complete lack of transparency. Look how many customers have have complained, trading standards should get involved. Poor end to end customer service, poor attitude by staff and the management need to be sacked.

DONT USE THIS COMPANY THEY TAKE THE ONE OFF PAYMENT FOR THE REPORT THEN LESS THAN 2 weeks AFTER THEY TAKE £39.90 SCAMMERS

Reply from Checkmycar
absolute SCAM. It says it gives you 48 hours to cancel but, when I tried, it wouldn't find my account on the website, making it impossible to cancel. I have video and photos proving it and will use it to dispute the charge with my credit card provider. Managed to cancel via phone. to everyone else: STAY AWAY, IT'S A SCAM

SCAM - FRAUD! Just like everyone else has said spent £6 for a report then 48hours later I'm signed up for a subscription service and a charge of £39.90 taken out. Phoned them saying i did not consent to this, nor was i made aware at any point that I was signing up to a subscription. Lady on the phone was extremly rude and just kept saying they dont offer refunds, I have contacted my bank to notifiy them of this fraud. DO NOT USE

Deceptive methods of getting your money. You have 48 hours to cancel the subscription which they claim is "clearly stated in T&C". Well its not "clearly" stated, you would have to really look for it, the whole process is made to look like youre not signing up for a subscription. I sent them an email with a cancellation request on the same day I "signed up", they replied a week later just to make sure im past the 48hr mark.
Do not use this company!!
Edit. Im pretty sure their email system is either fully automated or AI.

Same as everyone else, paid for 1 check then they take the full subscription a week later. Buyers beware.

Reply from Checkmycar
As everyone else has said - £5 quick check , turned out to be £39.90 subscription. I have contacted bank.
Update- they returned an email to unsubscribe me, and refunded the £39.90

Reply from Checkmycar
I fell for this trap too. Checked a vehicle I was buying and have now seen that they have taken another £39.90 !!
Why wasn't the fact that they turn this into a subscription clear? I would never have signed upo for that

Did a one off check for 5.95 and then my bank stopped a payment of 39.90, absolute joke. Got my bank to block all payments from them. Went back on to see the terms and there is no clear writing about a subscription fee.

Absolutely disgusting company. Also scammed out of 39.90. Totally disgusting customer service. Flatly refused to refund me. I'm livid. Con artists of the highest degree. Staff member at customer service utter disgrace. Why wouldn't i be upset when I've just been scammed out of this amount. Not transparent. Not clear. No email sent to me to confirm this subscription. Shameful sham company. Have reported to ombudsman. I would like to add that when you go to terminate the so called subscription that it does not recognise your email. However they found it when I called. I expect the standard generic response. Why would anyone want to subscribe to monthly hpi checks! I'm not Arthur Daley. Reported to my bank as well. They'll just keep on scamming people till they are stopped. They must hope people don't notice. Rotten way to make money. I have more respect for a mugger on the street.
