I was recommended to Alison at Chop Chop! What a star!! She listened to what I said and made really helpful suggestions. The cut is great and I am absolutely delighted with the result! Great value for money, a superb hairdresser and a very happy customer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Awful first visit. Unresponsive management

First of all, website for bookings is horrible. It wasn't confirming my booking for the next day as there was limited availability as it kept sending me to the page to restore my password when I have no yet account set up, hence I couldn't complete my booking. I called the Wembley chop chop store and no one picked up so as I live round the corner I went in person. I made the booking for full head highlights, tonner, restyling cut and blow dry for 3.15pm next day for £231 with the 20% discount offer for January
On my way home, I got a call back from the chip chop HQ (as the landline number doesn't go to the Wembley store directly) as they had a missed call from me. I said it was all sorted as I did book directly at the desk and they wished me a good service next day.
Few minutes later I get another call where they left a voicemail saying something like the time I booked didn't have enough time for all the services I need so I need to come at 2pm. Tried to call back. And no one picked up (again) so I did go again to amend it withe reception. The guy at the store booked was confused about the voice mail but he changed the appointment for me for 2.20pm.all good , I paid 50% deposit of a total of £231 and I left.
Next day, I was greeted by my stylist Cristina, confirmed my services discussed the cut style and colour I wanted, made me full a form, took a picture of my hair for my file and started to apply the bleach for the highlights. Then we passed to the next step, the tonner.
When I was waiting at the chair with the tonner making it's effect (not even washed yet and half way the service) she came to me to tell me my cut wasn't booked and they couldn't do it.
I was shocked, how come it wasn't booked when I did confirm this with thw reception the day before and I paid 50% in advance? I told her I booked with his colleague at the desk (he was present) and she went to double check. She came back to tell me that HQ team changed my booking and removed the cut. There was no time for the cut now as per their agenda even though the full cost was now £60 more. But they couldn't do it as it was not booked...
I was fuming! How are you telling me half way the process that my charge is now more expensive and not even cutting my hair with no warning and checking with me in advance before I even go to the store for the appointment so I can decide if I may want to go somewhere else or accept it?
She said she couldn't do anything about it because it was hq office who changed it. I asked her to call HQ and she said she couldn't and if she cut my hair she could get in trouble. How come a service that was paid and booked the day before with the desk staff ( not a mistake made be me in the website) is now not offered at all and I have to pay still the same £231 as a favour?
She said she will try to offer a discount at the till due to the confusion but she couldn't as it was locked with the 20% offer already applied. But I didn't get my cut worth £65? Ridiculous
Long story short, I paid the full £231 with no cut, I asked to speak to a manager, they only gave me the WhatsApp of the HQ office who was responsible of the change online, who I texted right away and I am still waiting for a reply.... Not really what I would expect from the management of a store like chop chop.

Very messy communication making the customers responsible for changes and mistakes in the booking made by the HQ booking team and expecting the customer to pay for service not given. I would call it a scam. Paying for a service I didn't get...
I will definitely not come back and I will never recommend anyone in wembley park to book with them
This is the evidence that supporting big chains, franchise is never a good idea, no customer service skills, they only care about the revenue and not caring about building long lasting relationships with repeat customers. I was trying a new hairdresser as I usually go to Windsor to my usual hairdresser as she is amazing but it's too far so I wanted to stay local.
But this is the evidence that supporting small local business better as you will feel valued and if something is not clear or goes wrong they will take responsibility and find solution. Not like chop chop Wembley that avoids speaking with an unhappy client with valid reasons and made you pay the full any regardless

Low Pay, Zero Respect — Avoid Working Here

Pay is far below industry standards, and there is little to no recognition for hard work or dedication. The management’s approach to staff is often unfair and immature, creating a highly toxic work environment where people feel undervalued and replaceable.

There’s a clear lack of transparency, and decisions seem to be made without considering the wellbeing of the employees. Morale among staff is consistently low, and turnover is high — which says a lot about the conditions.

I would strongly advise anyone considering working here to think twice. There are many other companies that will value your skills, pay fairly, and treat you with the respect you deserve.

Extremely Disappointed – Poor Communication and Unfinished Service

I booked a wash and blowdry at Chop Chop because I was recovering from surgery and wasn’t up to doing my own hair — something I usually manage myself. I was charged £60 because I have afro hair, which is already frustrating given that it costs £40 for others. But the real issue was the service itself.

After washing and partially blowdrying my hair, the stylist told me she was finished — my hair was still puffy, unstyled, and completely unpresentable. I had to leave the salon with it in a bun. When I asked about it, I was told I should have booked a silk press and paid £40 more. At no point during booking or consultation was this explained, and the stylist even admitted she suspected I had booked the “wrong” service — but said nothing until the end.

I’ve had blowdrys in the past where my hair was styled and presentable — this was the first time I’ve ever left a salon with unfinished hair. For a salon that claims to be inclusive and experienced with afro hair, the communication, pricing transparency, and overall experience were very disappointing.

Worst haircut experience of my life, and I've had some bad ones!!
When I arrived, I explained I was nervous as I'd had a bad haircut previously. The hairdresser pressured me to get my haircut that day and assured me he knew what he was doing.
After the haircut was done, he gave me EXACTLY what I'd specified I DIDN'T WANT. He had essentially cut off half the length of my hair to give me "layers." He literally lifted up half of my hair from the crown, and just chopped it in half. So I was left with a "mushroom" haircut, with an insanely short layer (not even down to my jaw) and the length of my hair looked ridiculously thin and spindly. It just looked awful.
I was extremely upset, but when reaching out to their customer service, I was met with terrible support, struggling to even get a response (they would barely reply every few days!) Eventually after going back and forth for well over a week, they refused to refund my money, as apparently they can't give a refund due to "personal preference." This wasn't personal preference, it was an objectively bad haircut, so bad in fact that I had to go to a specialist and travel 4 hours to fix the haircut. This hairdresser also confirmed that the haircut at Chop Chop was poorly done. The customer service was rude and dismissive, and said the only way they could refund my money, is if I went back to them so they could "rectify" the haircut. Of course I didn't feel comfortable doing that, and since their replies were so delayed, I had already got the cut fixed by a specialist by the time they even made this suggestion!
In order to fix the awful haircut, I had to cut off a significant amount of length, around 10 inches!! My hair was very long before and I was clear with the hairdresser at Chop Chop that I wanted to continue growing my hair as long as possible.
Even once the specialist had fixed my hair, she said it would likely take around 9 months to completely fix it, as the one "layer" he cut was so short it was impossible to completely blend it into my hair.
I could go on, but please SAVE YOUR HAIR, DO NOT GO TO CHOP CHOP.

I recently visited Chop Chop London…

I recently visited Chop Chop London Wembley Park for the first time after many speculation and curiosity especially because of their strong sustainable goals within their salon.

My creative cut with William was by far tne best haircut I've had since my hairdresser t moved to Italy.

He got rid if my boring long hair and transformed to a very cool textured bob.

Can't recommend William enough and I will l definitely be going back and requesting his service. He's really fab!

Thank you William for a lovely experience.

AVOID

As per the rest of these reviews. I've used this place for 3-4 years always getting a dry trim with no issue, even with more than 3 months between appointments. This time, because it had been more than 3 months, they sent a message the day before saying I'd been 'upgraded' to a wash and cut, for significantly more money. Because they contacted me with less than 24 hours to go, they won't refund my £40 deposit because it's less than 24 hours to go and it's a 'T&C'. The T&C should be void when it is the retailer cancelling the transaction and not the customer. The customer is under no obligation to accept the upgrade, and if the retailer will not fulfil the order, they are legally required to refund. I am currently going through a chargeback with my bank and I will be reporting this to the Ombudsman.

They also refused to refund me in 2023 when I tried to cancel my appointment but it was over Christmas and they weren't picking up my calls and emails. Disgusting company, avoid.

Received a call on the date of my treatment telling me that I didn't qualify for their dry cut service (£35) and needed to pay £70 to go ahead with my appointment. They deliberately called me within the 24 hr cancellation window so I can no choice but to pay more or forfeit what I'd already paid. I've used them 5 times before and never had this issue, but apparently it's stated in the T&Cs. Very dishonest policy, designed to con people out of money. Don't use them

Scam

I have been to the salon multiple times and always had a dry trim. Today, I was told that I could not have just a dry trim for £30 because I haven’t been there in over 3 months!! I’ve never heard anything like it before. Wanted to charge me £60 to wash my hair; that I explained I had already washed this morning as I was anticipating a haircut. Apparently it’s their new ‘policy’. By the looks of the reviews on Google and here, their new policy is going to lose them a lot of customers!

Also, don’t be fooled by the 5 star reviews on Google; they literally beg you to leave a good review whilst you are there.

Truly awful customer service

Truly awful customer service. Effectively stole £30 from me by 'upgrading' me to a wash and style service 2 hours before my appointment which I didn't have the time to do. My mistake in being just out of three months for a dry trim but no flexibility in offering to re-schedule for another day. Scam artists that just want to take your money - spend it elsewhere.

WORST SALÓN EVER! They STOLE me

WORST SALÓN EVER!! Do not waste your money in this place. Their customer service is the worst, I booked cut and colour for 130£ and 1) they booked me for the wrong day and since I already paid they would not give me a refund or change the day 2) they added a bunch of add ons the website did not say it was mandatory adding 180£ pounds more to my bill and they added there when I was already in person no advice of this in the email or website with no choice of not adding them. So I went to the appointment thinking I had to pay 50£ and I ended up paying 160£ more on top of 80£ I had already paid in the booking, they didn’t even have me a discount or anything. First time and last time I am coming here. The hairdresser is so lovely and tried to make me feel better after they cut me in half with the extra charges but honestly I left crying from this place. I went to several salon hair places in different countries, I have never been robbed like this and treated like this by a customer service manager or entity. This place should be closed for dishonesty and a very poor customer service. Their booking appointment has a bug, when I said this to the customer service manager she just deny it and basically call me lier without saying it but implying I am saying I booked for another day but in reallity I booked for the wrong day. Horrible horrible experience, I would not raccomend this place to anyone.

By far the worst salon

By far the worst salon - freelancer hairdressers that are rude and cannot keep to timed appointments, payment before the actual haircut and they are forever running late with no communication at all! Terrible service and a scam for money. Most salons are always empty and untidy. Really cannot emphasise how terrible Chop Chop is.
