The efficiency of the experience and the staff.

Just well organised from start to finish kept in touch about changes and a lovely journey on clean trains

A relaxing morning enjoying the views of the valley from a comfortable clean carriage. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Got chatting with some nice passengers. Stopped off at the Black Lion at Consall for a good pint of locally brewed ale.

Great day out, enjoyed it. Food could have been hotter. Maybe it should be served into boxes just before you board the train but all were ready & sat in boxes before the train arrived.
Great trip though x loved it

The train was late on to the platform so we stood about with our food so when we finally got on the train it was almost cold pre ordered a bottle of Prosecco but none available at the station by the time the drinks trolly made it to our seats we had long eaten our food

We have just enjoyed the most sumptuous lunch travelling through the beautiful Churnet valley. Two hours of delightful views through countryside of waterways and woodlands, while being served a delicious 3 course meal and being waited on. A fitting 70th birthday treat 😊

A lovely evening, brilliant atmosphere, and the pie and mash was very tasty. Cakes were HUGE too!

The train carriages were superb having been restored to as new. The staff were welcoming and the train journey relaxing.
However the chaos in the car park when leaving was disappointing

The event was thoroughly enjoyable with excellent Staff who continuously worked efficiently and cheerfully despite the restricted space conditions.
The food was very nice and was, somehow, kept hot which, again, must have been difficult to achieve in the space available. I estimate there must have been in the region of 72 covers and it was no mean feat to have achieved that.
Another thing that stood out was the clean windows. It might sound a little petty but having experienced the Llangollen steam train with filthy windows one might have well have been sitting in a small room with no windows. Good job on keeping them clean so the countryside could be appreciated.
Finally, the only reason we scored the event four stars instead of five is two fold. In our opinion.
Firstly the trip was cut short by 9 miles due to engineering considerations. This part of the journey between Leek Brook and Ipstones would have been the best part and it was removed with less than 12 hours notice.
Secondly, the background music was unpleasant. All of it was Jazz, and we like Jazz, but a lot of that was the jamming, session type Jazz with no real tune or toe tapping qualities, but that, again, is our opinion and really quite minor.
Overall, an enjoyable outing.

The atmosphere from arriving at the station through to the pleasant journey, friendly helpful staff and good food and wine. The actors for the murder mystery were great.

Had the breakfast enjoyed it, staff are excellent, very clean

Great value for money

Well what a perfect day out.
My hubbby had always wanted to go on a steam train so treated him to breakfast and ride.
From the moment we climbed aboard to when we got off it was just perfect.
The cooked breakfast was beautiful.
The staff were lovely and looked after us. 100% satisfaction. Will without a doubt be booking again. We fancy the fish and chip night next time. Thank you very much xxxxx

The train was over half an hour late, because the food wasn't ready.

On the journey, it was stop, start all the way.

The route had been changed the night before.

The jacket potato meal was dreadful.....soggy and cold

Thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the Churnet Valley Railway. I did the 1:30 and 7pm train. I also want to thank Andrea for her goodwill gesture to as I would have paid £22 to do the 1:30 train but as I was booked and paid for to go on the 7pm evening service she just charged me a tenner, so fab customer service plus a lady on the train serving drinks allowed me a drink of tea on the house when the card machine didn’t accept my payment plus she recognised me from past visits and I also said I do YouTube :) highly recommend a visit to this railway.

Good afternoon on the train.
Well organised, people were lovely, service on train great. The food was delivered hot and was delicious
The only down side is due to location the scenery is hard to see due to most of the trip being in a cutting. The tunnel was interesting and gave a lovely glimpse of the coaches lit at night, very cosy. The ride is slow and stops to allow food to be served. So don't expect to be rattling along.
Parking is fine but gets busy at change over period. So don't panic about finding a space. Disabled parking is available

We had a lovely day riding the train 🚂 comfortable carriages pulled by a lovely little steam engine had a great bacon bap and coffee from the tearoom! All in all a nice way to spend a few hours
