In decades of travelling much of the world, have never come across a car hire company like this one: best customer communication imaginable, excellent service all round, and etc.! CICAR is an absolute winner.

Dirty car, rude service and the car was not the one booked.

I've rented cars across the world with every different company you can come across. What they all have in common is they are unregulated, scam merchants looking to rip you off every, single, time, without fail.

The only time I've felt like a customer and not a victim is dealing with CICAR. Unbelievable service. Comparing CICAR with ANY other rental car company is like comparing a market stall in a dodgy part of Camden with Amazon for customer service and product.

Everything is paid for in the quote. We needed a baby seat, it was included, no excess waiver so no additional sale rubbish at the window for insurance.

I lost my driving license on the trip and they gladly switched the driver to my wife (who did have her license) at no extra cost.

The car was immaculate and because there is no damage waiver I didn't have to spend 30 minutes taking pictures so I didn't get scammed.

would give 6 stars if I could, the rest of the industry are a joke compared to these guys. Showing how things should be done.

When we picked-up the car we had to pay 14€ of fuel that they said would be reimbursed if we bring back the car with the same level. We did so, but we have never received the reimbursement. We contacted them several time during 3 months, but we never got a reply. Dishonest company!

I've used Cicar several times at various locations and the ease of service and fully inclusive insurance along with welcoming staff makes them the best car hire company I have used anywhere!

Don’t expect a brand new car. Absolutely expect no extras above what you were quoted to pay.
You already paid for no excess insurance so you won’t be pressured to pay for additional insurance at the desk!

Present your passport to prove your identity & drivers license to prove you can drive!
Pay by cash, credit or debit card with a minimum 24 months since you obtained your full license.
The terms are explained on booking, if you don’t comply you will be encouraged to jog on without charge or loss of deposit that you didn’t pay!
They share cars with other hire companies so if your car model isn’t available you will get a free upgrade, just don’t expect it to have its original shape.
They are the best car hire company in the canaries with no hidden costs.

Very unhappy with our experience with Cicar, had to change cars 3 times because the cars kept breaking down. Accidentally left an expensive speaker in the second car. Which then magically disappeared. Spoke to someone on the phone before going to the airport and was told we could look around the car to have a look for the speaker. However when we got to the airport they had already rented the car back out.

every time we book a car with this company the cars are always dinted scratched or well used. I got a message saying they would give me a discount, but every time I email Cicar I never get a reply.

I had booked the wrong day for car hire and Francisco the guy at Cicar was very relaxed and helpful - he just got us the car we wanted and it really was a joy dealing with cicar - recommended to anyone.

Fantastic experience at Fuerteventura airport. We booked online and doing so you set up an account which was great as our flights got changed so it was easy and free to do so online. I paid the extra full waiver as I didnt want any issues if there was a scratch or claim.

On arrival we found the desk - needed to pay a deposit on my credit card for any fuel difference when returned - this is very common though so no problem. Got the keys and told were to get the car which was just in the car park opposite - the child car seat (which was free not many do this) was a beat old and well used but did its job fine. Car was very clean and nice and happy with it.

On return it was very easy, took a picture of the fuel tank to show I filled it back up and shown it to them which then returned the deposit I paid original. Briiliant service and would use again.

The easiest car hire I have ever experienced! We hired a car on 2 separate occasions during our recent holiday in Tenerife. Both times were totally stress-free. There are no excesses to pay and collection and drop off were a breeze, both in Puerto de La Cruz office and at the airport. I wholly recommend Cicar.

Booked in advance and was surprised no credit card details required in advance and free cancellation-however reading other reviews on here was happy to book. The extra addition of the annoying extra excess which CICAR have stopped was a big plus point! Anyway - booking went according to plan! Fabulous! Stress free, good priced car hire!!

Come to tenerife they changed the car said we not want electric got hybrid it ran out of fuel was no charge in battery couldnt contact them on 4 number car 800 pound for 3 weeks advice dont use them we still cant contact them and car left in supermarket car park

Hired a car at Fuerteventura. The row took me 1,5 hour to be served. All other companies empty lines...Cicar almost two hours. Cars were almost unavailable so I had to wait another 30 minutes at the small office to pick up a key from a minute earlier returned car. All clients angry and very dissappointed. Never hire a car at Cigar in Fuerteventura!!!!!! It is a bloody shame there. Only two people serving a row of 50 waiting clients which takes at least 5 minutes per car. Incredible bureaucratic drama!!! Do Not Do THIS!!

Love this car rental company, great prices and great service.

I am very satisfied with CICAR's services. I traveled to the Canary Islands in July 2023, spending 4-5 days each on Tenerife, La Gomera, La Palma and el Hierro. For each I rented a car from CICAR. I had booked in advance but we only pay when the vehicle is picked up. Agencies are present everywhere, ports and airports, moreover you can take the car to an agency and drop it off in another. The best is to take out all-risk insurance with no deductible. The first times I was asked for a small deposit for the fuel, quickly reimbursed by bank transfer when you return with the tank at the same level. The staff are friendly, professional, efficient and friendly, and even provide a map of the island. It is really a company to recommend for renting a vehicle on the Canary Islands.

All service was very professional. When we broke a tire in a narrow street, in 70 minutes came an assistent and gave us a new car. Everyone was kind and helpful. I recommend this company Cicar.

Can't recommend highly enough. No upfront deposit. Easy online booking and cancellation. Which I really put to the test, as we were unwell I had to reschedule twice. No penalty, Easy peasy.
No excess, everything included - babyseats, extra driver, all at great price. Smooth collection and drop off.

I had an absolutely horrible experience with CICAR!

I rented a car from CICAR 1 month ago in Tenerife airport. They demanded a 50€ deposit for fuel, which made sense at the time. But when I returned the car with the exact same amount of fuel, they refused to give my deposit back.

Their customer support via email was a complete disappointment. All I got were automated responses with the same useless answers. They didn't even bother trying to solve the problem or provide any evidence to justify their scam actions.

Stay away from them.
