I recently purchased my first car through Cinch Finance (Renault Zoe, RV71 YDA) and unfortunately the experience has been extremely disappointing.
The vehicle was scheduled for delivery after I had already completed all necessary steps, including arranging finance, insurance, and tax. However, I was informed at the end of the delivery slot that the car could not be delivered due to issues with the vehicle not matching its listing and a warning light appearing on the dashboard linked to a fault with the charging port badge.
What is particularly concerning is that the Cinch app had shown the vehicle as having passed its final checks prior to delivery. Because of this, I had already committed financially and made arrangements based on the expectation that the car was ready.
I had no other choice but to cancel the order, as the vehicle that was due to be delivered was not the one I was originally sold online.
I have since been left in a very difficult position, having arranged an alternative vehicle through Cinch, which cannot now be delivered until 1st June. This has left me without transport for an extended period.
As a result, I have now paid out for two cars, alongside additional costs including insurance changes, taxing a vehicle I never received, arranging alternative transport, and taking time off work due to disrupted plans. I was offered £125 compensation, which does not reflect the level of financial loss or disruption caused.
This needs to be resolved as soon as possible, as I am currently out of pocket for two separate vehicles through no fault of my own.
Overall, while I understand issues can occasionally arise, I feel this situation has been handled poorly and has caused unnecessary stress, cost, and disruption during my first car purchase experience.

Clear communication. The car we ordered was in tremendous condition, as advertised. Speedy delivery. Can't fault them. Would definitely buy from Cinch again.

Brilliant service. However my car has a dull patch on the paintwork in the middle of the roof.

Kept well informed about the car and delivery.
Car arrived on time early and Gary was very
good at handing over the vehicle and dealing with paperwork.

DO NOT buy from Cinch if you value your family’s safety.
They sold me an unsafe vehicle that a main dealership later advised should not be driven. In the 23 days I owned the car, the garage had it longer than I did.
The vehicle arrived in poor condition and clearly had not been properly checked. Issues included:
Faulty seatbelt (an instant MOT failure), Parking sensors not working, Boot struts not supporting the boot, Bonnet struts not holding the bonnet open, Lower engine oil leak, Damage to the exhaust, Engine noise that may require a full engine replacement
What makes this even worse is that the car had supposedly passed an MOT just 3 weeks earlier, an MOT carried out by Cinch themselves.
The delivery experience was poor too. The car had not been valeted, and the driver quickly jet washed it at a nearby garage before dropping it off and leaving immediately.
Customer service was appalling throughout. Almost everyone I spoke to was rude, with the exception of two individuals, who were the only helpful people during the entire process.
When I first reported the faults, one member of the team, laughed and told me I’d “be lucky” to get the car seen within the 14-day period. Thankfully, I managed to get the main dealership to inspect it in time.
The worst experience was with one certain individual. When I requested to return the car (after the dealership advised it was unsafe to drive) he immediately started reading company policy about their right to repair the vehicle before accepting a return. His attitude was completely unacceptable.
This should have been an exciting experience, but instead it turned into a stressful and deeply disappointing situation from start to finish. It has genuinely put me off buying another car.
Please think very carefully before buying from this company.

Cinch is a great way to get a car. I had mine delivered from pretty far away, and I'm very happy so far with the condition of it. When I needed a V5 12 digit number so I could get it taxed ahead of time, the people behind the help chat on the website were responsive and helped me out nice and quickly!
My delivery driver, Richard, delivered my little VW on time, clean, and even with a little extra fuel in tank! He was very professional and helpful in going over all the details of the car with me, and wasted no time. I would definitely recommend Cinch to a friend.

Purchased a nice Ford Fiesta. Delivered on 16/5. No service history with the vehicle and it was 3 years old. Ford recommend every year or every 12,500 miles. I requested that Cinch check on 3 separate occasions and if no service history then it would be beneficial if they arranged for service. First couple of responses were, we'll check with Marshalls who the car was sold by. Still heard nothing. The last request I was told to make enquiries myself with Marshalls. I've now decided to return the car as the after sales was terrible. The sad thing is I'd purchased 2 vehicles from Cinch before and still have them.

I took delivery of a 2023 Tesla Model Y from Cinch at 2pm. By 2:45pm, the car had broken down on the side of the motorway.
I immediately contacted Cinch customer service and was told they would arrange assistance through the RAC and Tesla. Neither was contacted, so I had to call the RAC and National Highways myself while stranded at the roadside.
The car was clearly not roadworthy and also came with a list of outstanding service issues that should have been resolved before delivery.
It has now been 6 days and I have still had no meaningful contact or support from either Cinch or Tesla. I’m currently without a vehicle, £400 out of pocket in recovery fees, and have spent days chasing responses by phone and email.
My experience has been extremely disappointing. Once they had my money, customer support completely disappeared. I would strongly advise others to think carefully before purchasing through Cinch.

Car with multiple issues day of recieving. Honestly should have returned it within the 14 days and I would recommend you do the same.
Car had a wobble moving at 60+ mph which was noticed on the first day. I noticed shortly after that the clutch was creaky. Helpfully when I contacted cinch they booked it into a garage. Unfortunately the garage didn't actually fix the wobble and they said they couldn't look at the clutch. Stopped getting any reply to my emails from cinch for a week. Called them to try to speed things up. Spoken to a lovely man that was very helpful. However, the soonest garage appointment was September. Emailed to explain I could not wait this long and was worried if the car would even be drivable in 3 months time given the clutch was periodically not working and I did not feel comfortable continuously driving. Cinch then unhelpfully booked into a garage 50 miles away that was free in July. I appreciate the attempt however given it was still in July (2 full months away at that point) and also many miles from home with a dodgy clutch which I didn't feel confident driving that far, it wasn't a great option. They then rebooked me in to the original for September. I enquired about the possibility of using a local garage for a quote and agreeing a level of reimbursement, to which I received no answer now weeks later.
Not sure why they promote convenience as something they provide given I've bought more reliable cars off a stranger for a grand and paid almost 8k to have the most stressful car experience of my life. Should have known it was too good to be true glad I didn't buy anything more expensive. Good luck to anyone that has a car from here.
