Don’t go

Went in Clark’s Worcester today to get my 6yr olds feet measured for a new pair of trainers. We were greeted by a lovely lady who then passed us over to a younger lady. I told her about how we need to size up due to how wide my sons feet are and that he is currently 1.5G. After measuring his feet I got told he was a standard width and he was only a size 13.5. How is this possible? The young lady then went to find us 3 pairs of trainers. When trying on his favourite pair, he told the young lady the shoe was tight across his toes, to which she replied “these are new shoes and they need to stretch” I don’t think so some how! She then loosened the straps a little bit and asked if this was better, but it wasn’t. He then tried on another pair which again he said they are even tighter and she did agree this pair was tighter. The last pair we said no to even trying on as these were lace ups and my little boy is currently unable to tie on his own to of which she replied “I think it’s about time he learnt how to tie laces in his own”. At this point I was struggling to stay calm and said we need to leave and have a think.
I then went to an independent shoe shop in another town who had confirmed my thoughts that he was measured at the wrong size and he is definitely a wide footed child and in fact he has gone up a shoe size.
So I will not be stepping foot into a Clark’s for my child’s shoes again.
If you are going for your child’s first shoes please be aware it seems that they are unable to correctly measure feet!!!!.

Professional and friendly

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a member of staff called Shakira who went above and beyond to help me find a comfortable shoe as I have suffered with plantar fasciitis for some time now. I am so pleased with the sandals that she advised me purchase and will definitely be going back there. The Manager was also friendly which is sometimes hard to find in other shoe stores. Thank you Shakira.

Uncomfortable experience

Clarks in Worcester-browsed the boots in store then decided I would look at the polish/protection products which are located behind the till. An assistant asked if she could help, I said I was just looking. She then glared at me so I explained I was going to attempt to polish up some boots I already had. She straight away placed neutral polish and a conditioning balm on to the counter, she then suggested an additional item, so within 10 seconds I was expected to purchase 3 items. Hard sell or what. When I told her twice that I would think about it, she glared at me whilst I was walking away.
Please do not try to use the hard sell, glare at me or make me feel pressurised because your attitude has the opposite affect and I will go elsewhere. I appreciate KPI's have to be met but that is not a reason to have a bad attitude. You don't know what customers are experiencing in their own life and attitude/glaring does not make me want to purchase anything from the shop again! We all have pressure in our jobs but not many people last when they are rude to customers!!

Wonderful service

Within a matter of weeks of purchasing our son's new school shoes, he had incredibly grown out of the shoes bought from Clarks Worcester.
The store manager offered an exchange (even though I had misplaced my receipt) and offered to remeasure my sons feet. The most obliging young shop assistant named Shakira was extremely helpful and provided a very thorough and professional service.
We came away most satisfied, which these days can be a rarity in terms of customer care.
Well done Clarks Worcester

Greeted quickly but......

Greeted quickly and then passed a ticket to wait in order as we needed to have our sons shoe size checked frustrating then to see another family then arrive after us and no number managed to be seen sized and purchase shoes before we even had someone come to us! We had Ben help and check my sons shoe size before we chose the shoes he wanted, sadly there was little to no interaction between Ben and our son asking/checking if the shoes fit or tight loose etc but rather my partner did this. Not the best experience in our opinion even after spending £50 on new school shoes!

Charlotte was wonderful

Charlotte was wonderful! My two boys loved her and insisted I write a review, as she was funny and interacted so well with them, as well as being focused on finding them the perfect pair of shoes.
We normally all dread school shoe shopping, but she made it a very pleasant and memorable experience. For only 16 years of age, I was shocked at her confidence, thorough knowledge and positive work ethic.
My eldest has been really struggling with laces, but she introduced us to a clever technique, making it so much easier for him.
The whole store was welcoming and incredibly well organised, but a special mention for Charlotte, please - she's an absolute credit to the store.

Welcoming staff, very patient and make kids feel that they matter

Took grandaughter who is 11 for school shoes, we were met by a friendly and helpful young assistant. She related to my grandaughter and talked to her, asking her what she liked. This made her feel like she was being listened to which made the process easy and smooth. The shoes were fitted professionally, we left with one happy young girl. Thankyou Peaches xx

Thanks Ben

Bit of a wait to be seen but expected at this time of the year. Ben at the Worcester store, who I believe was a fairly new member of staff, was fantastic, really patient and very helpful and thorough with his checks and helping us get the right shoes for my daughter today.
