I wish I read these reviews before ordering

I’m so disappointed. Like everyone else, they took my money, never sent me my order and have ignored all of my polite follow-up emails ever since.

They are breaking the law; the Consumer Right Act says orders must be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days from the point of purchase. Now I have to try and get my money back from my bank.

Ignoring customers is selfish and unkind and I hope they improve their business practices soon.

Ordered in July and goods never arrived

Ordered in July and goods never received. Have contacted the company on numerous occasions via email and social media to be hit with radio silence.

I don't think this was a scam but I do think they were a victim of their own success and using TikTok influencers was never going to work. Ignoring customer queries and not responding to refund requests is not the way to run a business though.

I have started a chargeback request via my bank.

Just a suggestion.

Please don't take this the wrong way. This is not a threat nor hate, but if you're backlogged from July, then i suggest not to post a tik tok for 2 for the price of one deal as it only just brings more attention and more disappointed customers. I didn't hear about this backlog to AFTER i had bought from you and the tik tok as it was on my FYP. I have been waiting from the start of the month and have yet to hear back or any update. Yes there were postal strikes but a little communication would be nice. If the wait is gonna be months on end then I will be emailing about a refund. I know you're a small business but like mentioned I don't think it was a good idea to post about this deal as it would grab more attention.

Due to the high number of emails we receive each day, we are in the process of expanding our team to get emails responded to much quicker, as we know it’s frustrating to wait and it is resulting in reviews like this one. Negative reviews are super damaging to small businesses and as a team we feel heartbroken that we didn’t get it right on this occasion.

Regarding delays with getting orders out, we’re a small team growing a slow fashion brand, orders have been delayed due to going viral and supplier issues which are out of our control. We have been sending these orders out as quickly as possible and have employed 2 members of staff to help with this.

The extremely low prices of our products reflect the way in which we do practice. Our products are mainly mystery boxes and sometimes we do not have all sizes in stock, which can mean waiting for your size to come in stock. But we do prioritise orders by date, meaning oldest orders get sent out first.

We have had a delay banner on our website for some time, along with ‘pre-order’ product descriptions, explaining that we cannot get your order out straight away.

We would like to remind you that we are not Amazon, we’re a tiny team going as fast as we can whilst still trying to provide a quality service. We feel as though with the amount of emails we’re receiving despite the delay banner on the website that we must choose between providing a quality customer service experience OR quantity and just replying to as many people as possible but not really solving the problem. We want to provide the best customer service experience possible hence expanding our team.

We want to change any negative connotations of our brand and fix any issues. If you could please get back to us with your contact details so we can speak privately it would be appreciated.

6 months and still nothing

6 months and still nothing, I ordered two pairs of mystery Levi’s in April and still haven’t received them.

Constant emails and no reply’s. I’ve been nice in all my emails and haven’t been rude but have received no response. Posted multiple comments on there TikTok’s which were all deleted.

How can they get away with posting new items and continue to promote their Levi mystery boxes but not fulfill orders from April? It’s disgusting.

I understand they are busy but to not respond to costumer emails after keeping their money for 6 months is disgusting.

I really wanted to love this brand but I have 100% been put off

UPDATE: they dispatched my jeans after I threatened to file a charge back with my bank. However the never updated my address like they said the would, waiting for a response as I will not receive my jeans as the never updated my addresses. It had been that long since I ordered that I’d moved and had to change my address and was reassured they’d done this. However this was not the case and they never did so don’t trust them to do that either.

AVOID AVOID

Placed an order, apparently a 7 day shopping policy. Order still not despatched after 3 weeks. Have emailed asking for information or refund 6 times and all I get is a sick reply.

Ordered from this company several months ago after finding them on tiktok I'm still yet to receive my order, have had no follow-up emails and commenting on all of their social media has been turned off. Poor customer service and ultimately seems like a scam

DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM

Ordered from them months ago. They have no contact number, when you send an email they send a generic one back from some bot called Maxine. They state if you send an Email to this address saying REFUND and ur number They will refund you. - They don't! I've tried and tried and tried and they ignore all comments.

Do not buy from this company

I ordered a pair of the mystery box Levi’s jeans in early April, and they didn’t not arrive until today, midway through September! I understand that they had some sourcing issues, but 5 months for a pair of jeans is not acceptable. Their customer service is awful, constantly giving false promises and automated emails, and they never gave an order update during the course of 5 months.

I finally opened my jeans today that were physically damp, and smelt rotten. Like absolutely awful. They have lots of rips and tears too, so sadly, since they don’t offered refunds, I will be putting the jeans straight in the bin after a 5 month wait for them.

It’s a shame as I love the ethos of the company, but I would strongly advise to anyone wondering if they should get a pair of these jeans, don’t waste your time or money.

Thanks for your review, however I think it's worth noting that we do offer refunds on faulty items. We strive to only send out clean, wearable items so I fail to see how we'd have sent one in this state out. If you still have the jeans, please email our customer service team at contact@clothesbeforebros.co.uk with images of the 'rips and tears' and we will issue you a full refund. You're welcome to email us regardless of if you've discarded your jeans or not and we can go about trying to rectify this.

Total waste of money

Total waste of money. I patiently waited 5 months for my order and on receipt today - I have a smelly jacket which is covered in stains and a washed out t-shirt (and not in a nice vintage way). I expected something old but not dirty, smelly and stained.

Me and my nan ordered here two months…

Me and my nan ordered here two months ago it came today and it was terrible . First it smelt like a dog had pissed on it.
We ordered mystery jeans what where poop Brown and looked like they had been pulled out of a fire. A MENS blazer when we had ordered a small woman’s blazer and for the vintage bundle we got a terrible bandana what looked like a napkin two pieces of plastic pound shop cufflinks one what was broken and a skirt that wouldn’t even fit my 7 yr old cousin.
It’s a scam please don’t fall for this

I ordered two things mystery jeans and blazer in may this year and still not got them ? As someone has said wanted to get behind this idea and support small business but I’ve asked for refund now and still not heard back ?
They are saying it’s been too busy but keep advertising selling things which seems like rubbing salt in the wounds ? I want my refund now ?

Its a shame..

Its a shame - I really loved the idea of this business and wanted to support a small company. I placed my order for a mystery pair of jeans on 03/07/22 and its now almost two months later ... with no parcel in sight. I appreciate they have been overwhelmed likely with orders, but the fact they keep advertising new clothing in and encouraging more sales seems odd given the backlog. I've emailed for a refund now.

Think twice before ordering

Wouldn’t normally do this, but hope someone else can learn from my mistakes.
I’ve tired to get in touch with this company in so many ways. Short ish story. I ordered 12 weeks ago, I’ve sent 3 emails 1 with a generic response, I commented on a tik tok politely asking for an updated. Comment was deleted and since all comments have been turned off. Asked for an updated x2 on insta, both comments deleted - now comments turned off - I think bc I’d mentioned publicly I’d waited 12 weeks, with no replies to emails. (Never was I rude- I’ve tried to be understanding) all of a sudden I get a refund. Emailed to say I did not request this, no reply. I’d say a company who can’t reply, turn off comments but still continue to post on social media yet don’t take a week or two to fulfil outstanding orders and refund a 12 week out standing order bc they don’t want any controversy (not that I was bringing that) is a sign - run - the only reason I post here is bc everywhere else gets deleted/ you can’t comment. I think it’s important people know who/ what they are buying from. Shame as I was patiently waiting and trying to support a small business.

Scam company, scam policies, awful products, PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS, report them to trading standards if you were deceived like I was!

Very disgusted with this business and their responses. After one experience I will NEVER be wasting my money again. I am not one to hold grudges or distain for companies, but this company have really put a bad taste in my mouth and I will be sharing my experience in as many places as I possibly can to ensure no one else has to deal with the way I was treated by this business.

First of all, I was lied to about what would be in my mystery box, as the images they share online are truly deceiving. They made me believe I would be receiving a vintage brand jumper, like a champion, however this was FAR from the truth.

I received a smelly, mouldy, brightly coloured vintage jumper that was piling. The quality is awful and the fabric is very uncomfortable feeling, like it would scratch your skin (if that makes sense), I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating but I can't believe it myself. Even if I did try to try it on the size of the product, although it is labelled the size I ordered, it does not match to a standard size. I believe it might have been a child's jumper?

After seeing what I received I contacted customer support to get a refund. I heard back that according to their 'policies & terms' they do not offer refunds on any of their mystery products.

Luckily I have friends and family in the legal field so I was aware of my legal rights to refunds, as I don't have a huge amount of money to spend, so I don't want to waste my hard earned money, especially during a cost of living crisis, on this product.

In UK law, you are entitled to refunds within 14 days of receiving the item (except for in a few conditions which aren’t relevant to this purchase), so knowing my rights, I reached out to send the item back and get my refund that by LAW I am entitled to do.

By not offering refunds, no matter what a company say, or the made up 'policies & terms and conditions' say, it is ILLEGAL, don't get caught up in companies policies, they are not legally sound.

For products like 'mystery boxes'. Your legal rights to a refund are even more clear as you are not aware of what you are receiving.Read up on the government website if you had the same issue, it is all part of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and Unfair Commercial Practices Directive. If you spend more than £42 and they don’t accept your refund request within 14 days of delivery, it’s illegal.

As my order was under £42 I can't do much else, however I have spoken with a solicitor who has advised raising to the Trading Standards as I have been deceived about what I received. I would encourage any of you who received a product that was not as described or arrived spelling rancid or had stains to also do the same.

Part of me would have just dropped this, and accepted the loss however part of me doesn’t want this to happen to anyone else and I want this company to be held responsible for their actions. No one is above the law, and since they have been so rude and belittling I just don’t want anyone else to have to deal with this awful company.

I really wish I'd visited their TrustPilot before ordering, as I can see a lot of people are not happy with them or their service!

It is not even the fact they refused to refund me but also the snarky, rude, replies I received. Honestly this company is a scam and the fact they refuse to refund is more proof to me how awful all their products must be.

The fact they mentioned to me in their responses about small claims court would be costly for me to do was just more of a red flag to me, as it sounds like this isn't the first time someone has reached a point of taking them to small claims court in order to get a simple refund. I wish there was a simpler way to hold companies like this accountable for their illegal practices.

Please do not order from this company

Please do not order from this company. I have now been waiting 3 months for a mystery box. I emailed them immediately after my order to make an amendment and they got back to me straight away. Great. Looking forward to getting my parcel. Fast forward a week later, they write their “we f***ed up” statement. Okay. Transparency. Good. I continue to wait. 2 weeks pass, I email for an update. No response. 2 weeks pass, I email again. No response. I DM on IG. No response. I’m resigned to the fact that I’ve lost my money and won’t receive my items. The lack of communication is beyond frustrating. They can “create” new designs and send out irrelevant emails RE this but can’t email a customer back? They’ve got their priorities wrong. They’re ethos is great, execution is terrible. Good luck to anyone who orders from them.

I promised i’d write a review once I received the jeans. I received them shortly after the ‘we messed up’ email went out.

The jeans were really great quality and the packaging was nice.

I was one of the people who ordered them in April and received them in July. I had to do a lot of chasing and was beginning to worry but kept hanging on.

The company aren’t a scam. They really need to state that customers could be waiting up to 3 months for their order. I think customers need transparency and up until the holding hands up, there wasn’t too much.

If you order just know that it could be a long time before you receive your but you will and the jeans are good quality.

I really hope the company are able to build up a better score on here.

This is a company I truly wanted to love...

This is a company I truly wanted to love. In theory their business model is amazing, but the execution is letting them down. I don't believe they're a scam but they need to change their way of working if they want to build a trustworthy brand and customer base.

I ordered in April when the vintage levi mystery box went viral. I was more than happy to wait as I knew they got so many orders. Flash forward to August I had still not received my items, and had sent 3 emails in July with absolutely no response. The excuses kept on changing. Covid, manufacturer errors, moving house, the list goes on. There was an apology email at some point explaining they knew they'd messed up, but the communication after that was still poor other than mass emails.

I saw a tiktok posted by the brand to say they only send out the sizes they have on that day, if they've not got your size, they move on to the next. They took all the orders without having enough stock, knowing where their stock was coming from next since they had supplier issues, and without knowing when/if your size will be there at all. They literally described it as "luck of the draw" as to whether your size would be in stock. I'm sorry, I paid you for 2 pairs of jeans in my size and you're telling me it's luck of the draw as to when I get them They? They receive tonnes of jeans and work through them this way. This was NOT positioned at the point of purchase. I commented on their tiktok very politely expressing this feedback, and how this should be made clear at point of purchase, however they've now turned comments off. Surely you should be working through the denim, managing your inventory and only selling what you know you've got. A 4 month wait just isn't on. I've paid you for a product that's like a lottery as to when I'll actually receive it. Its just not right. All while seeing others receive their products who ordered later than you did, and new lines being released as well.

You've had people's money for months without delivering what you've promised. This is why people are calling you a scam. Even getting a refund was difficult, I received an email saying I'd been refunded but a week later there was no money back. After some back and forth (they said there was an error) I got my money back by opening a dispute with PayPal. Again, something that shouldn't have to be done, if you're intent on building a trustworthy brand. It feels like a scam when you've paid money and not got your order, but the brand seems to just be moving on and prioritising other things over their customers.

I hope the brand can take constructive criticism going forward and implement some major changes in their way of working so that trust, clarity and communication are created and maintained as this is a brand I desperately wanted to love.

Contacted numerous times no response

I saw this company on TikTok and made an order for several items.

After a month I contacted them to say I haven’t. No response. After a month and a half I’ve contacted them again for a refund.

I’ve been in their social media pages and they turn off comments and after reading trust pilot reviews I’ve realised that everyone is going through the same experience.

I wish I had read these before ordering as I’m now over £40 out of pocket.
