Terrible customer service when things do t go to plan . Had to undergo surgery but with 10 months notice , Club Med unwilling to assist in anyway rolling or refunding deposit - only financially driven, no empathy at all. All inclusive ski - but then limited to having to return back down the mountain for lunch - other hotels have incorporated half board packages with restaurants outside the hotel ( like Les Etincelles etc ) ..

We LOVE ClubMed. We have visited three resorts and have had the best experiences. Our kids always love the kids clubs and I think the teams are incredible. Great location, incredible food options and a true holiday for the full family!

Club Med App tells me I have no bookings, but we're going skiing, 7 of us, in one week (not unusual). They have sent a confirmation email to one of our party, who is not the lead member, and not my husband, who booked it all. Although we love Club Med and have been on at least 40 holidays with them, we cannot ever use their UK office and always book through a third party as their staff here are so unhelpful/slow/inept - for which they are well known. It is a real shame that they can't improve this. We were gold members for years, but the system is now opaque, and the gold member perks have been downgraded. Last year's trip to Pragelato had a horrendous end where we were shoved out to the airport hours early, leaving at 6.30 am and arriving two hours before check-in opened. No breakfast was provided, although they always used to make the restaurant available. Apparently a 'breakfast box' was going to be available but only about half the number needed of these boxes was supplied (and we were travelling with a 2 yr old). Club Med - as far as we are concerned, you are hanging in there by the skin of your teeth!! Read some of these reviews and address the issues, please!

We recently went to Club Med Grand Massif and it was fantastic! They made it so easy for us to leave the kids so we could go and ski for the day. The food was fantastic and the hotel was lovely too. I would recommend for anyone looking for a family ski holiday!

** Update - Arrived. Hotel looked nice on arrival. We went straight to dinner - as all the other reviews say, appallingly bland. The bathroom in our suite smells of drainage. Have spent an hour trying to get moved. Not possible - room service have sprayed some ‘perfume’
** Update & response to Club Med **
Email sent as suggested - unsurprisingly no response. As a result, rather than using the ski hire IN the hotel, I have no choice to arrange our own ski hire and have delivered to the hotel. Ridiculous - why you cannot allow me to contact the ski hire shop in resort. There is a photo and firstname of the ski-shop manager in the app, but nothing as helpful as contact details!
Booked a long weekend ski-trip via BA Holidays at the Club Med Grand Massif Samoens Hotel.
Since booking, it has been a complete pain attempting to contact the hotel.
You are forced to use a pretty poor App, which gives you a phone number for the hotel (It took around 20 attempts to get someone to answer and not cut off) or an email address that appears unmonitored.
It appears also that we cannot pre-arrange key things like ski hire in advance (unless we booked direct via Club Med), so we no doubt will have to spend several hours on our first morning arranging ski-hire.
I'm hoping the actual stay is not as challenging. However I wish I had looked further into TripAdvisor and other ratings first. The resort is being slated for being a bit of a shambles.
Will update this positive (or worse) feedback after our stay next week.

***The issue has now been rectified and we are excited about our trip***
I thought I was booking a premium brand with club med but I was completely mistaken. The service has been far below standards and we haven’t even left the country yet.

IF YOU LIKE DAILY COLD SHOWERS A TELEVISION THAT DOESNT WORK. OLD PROPERTY WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AVERAGE FOOD THIS IS YOUR PLACE. Apparently the lower number building behind the stage does not have hot water coming from the sink but not the shower. I am very miserable being out in the sun on the sea and sand body smelling and have not had hot water for four days and I am here for another four. Noone from management has called to offer help or a solution. What a Ripoff! . called for shower and TV HELP SINCE DAY ONE....NOTHING....ITS NOT WORTH THE MONEY ....find a newer place to stay for the money

Stayed in Tignes earlier this year and rebooked again for next year. Staff great - really helpful in the boot room and entertainment team all really lovely, rooms were beautiful, no faults with food. Fresh powder every day! Had a fab time!

Easier to get Cold Play tickets than someone answer the phone at London HQ - sent email - automated reply saying they would get back to me with 14 days

Terrible customer support. Jennifer was the most unhelpful support representative I spoke to. She would not escalate my request to her supervisor either. Great hotels but terrible support. Certainly not going ahead with my booking with Club Med.

Holiday in punta Cana cancelled one week out due to a fire. Told we had 2 options: cancel or move to a more “exclusive “ resort. Shouldn’t have been more exclusive as we had paid for “exclusive” area in Punta Cana. We had booked an ocean facing room and were told the only equivalent one was in front of the kids beach. Not the holiday we had in mind. We asked if they had any other resorts with space that week and were told that was not an option.
Minimal apologies and lack of empathy from staff was surprising given how they sell them selves.
Needless to say we will never use Club Med again. 5 star treatment it is not. We have had better customer care with companies that charge half the price.

3 out of 4 of us went down with diarrhoea and vomiting for 4 days after eating shellfish at Club Med Balaia. At least 6 other families affected around the resort according to the on-site nurse. We met several families similarly affected. Poor food hygiene at the buffet (e.g. lukewarm bolognese sauce served for hours with the underlying hot-plate off). No refund for having to extend for two nights because kids too unwell to travel. Offered 20% in "club med credits". Avoid at all costs- you'll need a holiday after a stay here.

Club Med UK customer service is non-existent. Our passports got stolen and when we informed Club Med that we would like to delay our holiday until we receive the new ones, we met zero understanding and they refused to reimburse 90% of the cost because we notified them less than 14 days in advance (it was day 11 not the previous days of the travel!!!!). Absolutely disgusted.

I booked a family holiday skiing for my husband's 40th. He was diagnosed with advanced cancer and I told Club Med immediately asking to rebook or refund 5 months before the holiday. They refused on the basis that they have lots of requests for refunds and they can't just give them out. I explained that I have two small children and our finances had taken a hit due my husband's illness but there was no discussion from them. My husband also tried to contact them on social media and they said they would get in touch but never did. Absolutely heartbroken and disgusted by the lack of any kind of customer care. They have kept my deposit.
Unfortunately, our holiday organized through SNO Travel turned into a distressing experience due to a significant oversight in coordinating our transfer arrangements with Club Med. Despite providing accurate flight details, both parties failed to ensure the correct transfer time, leaving us in a predicament just a day before our departure. Resolving the issue demanded hours of negotiation and persuasion, with Club Med initially suggesting an exorbitant £500 private taxi as the only alternative. Eventually, they agreed to adjust our transfer time, albeit placing us in a cramped car with another family for the journey from Tignes to Lyon. The overcrowded conditions led to my children suffering from motion sickness throughout the ordeal, casting a shadow over our last days together as a family.
Despite persistent requests over the past three weeks, neither SNO nor Club Med have fully acknowledged their responsibility for the error. Instead, we received a tepid apology devoid of direct accountability or a commitment to rectify the situation promptly. We entrusted SNO as our travel agent precisely to avoid such mishaps, yet they failed to ensure accurate coordination with Club Med and now evade accountability for their oversight.
This experience underscores the importance of evaluating a travel agent's commitment to client support beyond the booking stage. While they may excel in arranging holidays, their true measure lies in how effectively they handle unforeseen challenges like ours.
My wife and I booked our first family ski holiday with our 2 daughters, aged 3 and 1. Club Med is a well known brand so we thought we'd make our lives easier and book with them for the ease of all inclusive.
There were several things that Club Med did right, such as outstanding alpine cuisine and ski in, ski out access. But there was enough wrong that we came back from the holiday feeling like we had a bad time. In fact it was so disappointing that we booked another family ski trip with another provider and had a much better time on that one.
A lot went poorly such that it effectively ruined our trip. It was disorganised, had insufficient communication, and poorly trained staff.
* We received no flight information before flying. I had to call up club med to request this. They said it should have been sent but couldn't explain why it wasn't and subsequently sent it on to me. I check my spam folder so am confident I did not miss anything here.
* There was no pre trip information. No guidance on snow conditions, what to pack, what to expect, etc. After we booked our holiday we heard almost nothing from club med.
* I called to ask if child seats would be included in the transfer for our young children. The resort said they would add a note to my booking. It concerns me that this might not have been the case if I had not called? Would we have had a 3 hour alpine drive with 2 young children without car seats?
* Generally the staff didn't speak English very well. I understand this is hard when catering to so many nationalities but the level of understanding was well below what I'd have expected even adjusting for that.
* One of the main reasons for this trip was to get my 3 year old on skis. I couldn't book this online beforehand but had to call afterwards to add it on. When I called to book this they said her skis would be included but I had to pay for her skis on arrival, which was disappointing.
* There were no sledges for kids to play on and indeed sledges were banned. It's a shame they couldn't have carved out a small area to make this a possibility.
* We made a fundamental mistake of booking a Saturday to Saturday trip. Club Med revolves around the Sunday to Sunday schedule, though they allow for custom dates. We didn't realise this so it meant things weren't so smooth for us in general.
* Our first day of skiing was Sunday but we couldn't do anything as the kids clubs were closed but more disappointingly the nursery slope was closed as well. I had called the reception that morning and they told me the nursery slope was open. This meant we wasted our first day just staying at the hotel. * Later on Sunday, When the nursery slope did eventually open they said it was only for people who had paid for a private ESF lesson.
* Our skis were not ready for us on arrival like they said they would be, despite us filling in all the online forms.
* Dinner did not begin until 645pm, which is too late for children who need to be at kids club at 8am the next morning.
* Club Med require all kids to have vaccinations (which is fine with me). However they bury within the contract terms and conditions that you will need to bring proof of vaccination with you on the holiday. If we weren't looking closely, we would have missed this and our kids would have been excluded from the kids clubs, rendering our holiday useless. I asked about this on arrival and they self admitted that many parents make this mistake. Then why haven't they corrected it?!
* I was deeply concerned about the doctor in resort. We went to get our children's proof of vaccination checked and he said it was unnecessary as the requirement is only for French children. The nursery confirmed all children need this proof. It's concerning the in house Doctor was not familiar with their own policy and our kids could have missed some childcare because he's only available 2 hours a day to provide this check.
* The doctor is meant to be available for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening, but on two occasions when we visited he was not there at the right time.
* On the fourth day of our trip, our 1 year old daughter's eczema was diagnosed as a contagious disease and she was kicked out of kids club. The diagnosis was totally unreasonable and ruined our holiday. This meant we missed our last 2 days of skiing so we could look after our 1yo who wasn't sick.
* The wifi was terrible and you had to pay for premium wifi.
* They handed us 3 ski passes in our intro without telling us that one was designated for a child. We were stopped by a lift operator and refused access to a lift because, of course, my wife had the childs pass.
* On the last day our ski passes stopped working a day early, leaving us stranded again.
* The pool was cold and had no hair dryers or shampoo or shower gel.
Overall I wouldn't go on another Club Med holiday.
I think the Club Med experience as a whole was excellent. The fact that the only thing that was not included was ski hire made the holiday a very relaxing, stress free and enjoyable. In particular a big shout out to my French ski instructor who showed us the best snow everyday and made it his mission to improve everybody’s skiing in the group. The only miss at La Plagne was the lack of access to a swimming pool and inability to show the Scottish rugby during the Six Nations.
All in all Club Med were great and good value for money which is becoming increasingly important with escalating ski holiday costs.
The ethos & special atmosphere appears to have been lost especially at meals when a GO would have joined the table; eg The white event is magnificent, obviously creating alot of work but there is no organising or inclusion of couples to tables. Seemed to be more GOs than GMs who weren't busy. Years ago if one wanted to play any sport & one was alone a GM would offer to accompany you.
Always well looked after at Clubmed. Well organised travel, check in straightforward, food very good ( an improvement on 2021) at La Plagne. Great bar and ski lesson instructors and kids are well looked after. My only criticism is the night entertainment show is too loud so can’t have a conversation. Also can be heard up in the rooms
