I signed up on the CoinStats website after being shown a “Free Trial” offer while already logged into my account. I clicked it expecting the trial they advertised. Instead, I was charged instantly with no trial period.

When I contacted support, they claimed my account “wasn’t eligible for a trial,” which only makes the situation worse — if a user isn’t eligible, the website should NOT display a free-trial button at all. That’s deceptive UX and completely avoidable on their end.

Right now, I’m still waiting for a refund for a charge that should never have happened.
If CoinStats resolves this and issues the refund, I’ll update or remove this review

Update 1: Almost 1 month on I have still yet to recieve any refund despite support agreeing to it. I am at a stage where if no progress is made this week I'll be contacting my bank.

I would give a 0 star if I could. My subscription was auto renewed without notice. I haven't use this service in a while. My card number was changed and I even blocked the card and they still able to proceed to the transaction. When I reached out to customer service they gave the same basic answer that a refund is not possible because the renewal was already done. This is very bad business and practice. You cannot charge people without any notice

Be very careful with this company. My yearly membership jumped from €30 to €150, and they charged me automatically after a full year without any clear warning. I reached out to support literally right after the charge, yet they still refused to refund me.

A 5× price increase on a yearly subscription with no proper notice is completely unacceptable and feels intentionally misleading. Instead of helping in a genuine situation, they hide behind their refund policy as an excuse.

The responses are slow, there’s no escalation, and they show zero flexibility or understanding. At this point, it honestly feels less like a professional service and more like a scheme designed to take people’s money through unexpected renewals. I would strongly recommend avoiding them.

Update on 8 Dec 2025, I am updating my Trustpilot review since the support team resolved this for me. I would suggest that they email customers in advance of auto renewal of subscriptions.

My subscription was auto renewed without notice. I haven't been using the service in a long time and didnt even realize i had setup the account to be auto renewed.. I reached out to customer service within 4 hours of my account being charged (the charge went through at 4am) only to be told that a refund is not possible since the auto renew had occured already. I didnt have a problem with the platform, i just wasnt using it and i dont want to pay for a full year for something i will not use.

I had a very bad experience from a data breach, and they overcharged me. There was no customer service professional to answer me, and I was even charged during the free trial.

Their support does not exist
I made a mistake to create an account with them. Without any warning, they tried to charge an annual fee. Luckily the card expired and they couldn't charge. They keep sending me emails saying "we weren't able to charge your card. ... Questions? email us at xxx and I tried to contact. Guess what? They are not monitoring this address anymore. I cannot even close my account. I dont remember how many times I tried doing that. I am receiving a message saying your request is received, but of course there is no action.
So I give zero stars to this app.

Update:
I hadn’t used the platform at all since last year, so being charged for another full year without any prior notice completely surprised me. The unexpected renewal caught me off guard, and trying to reach customer support through their website was pretty frustrating. After a short exchange, I was initially told a refund wasn’t possible.

However, once I posted my original review, their support team reached out proactively, issued a full refund right away, and handled everything seamlessly over email. I genuinely appreciated the quick and helpful response, so I’m updating my review to reflect this positive outcome.

Edited: I was unaware a company could auto renew (a a significantly higher price) annually without a reminder under law. I did not use the platform for the entire year, and it autorenewed without warning and trying to interact with customer service on the website was hard, and a refund was unavailable. I understand I did not cancel, but best practice on annual subscriptions is to provide a reminder. However, following my review, customer service reached out and refunded the annual subscription immediately and was easy to deal with over email, which was greatly appreciated. Hence altering my review of this company

Charging autorenewals without notice isnt standard at all in my experience but I appreciate the response to work something out after being frustrated by an expected $300+ charge. Edit 2: After quite a few emails with the 'support' team they put me on to someone actually helpful, they refunded me which I really appreciate so have adjusted my rating.

Lost access to my wallet and their account. Didn't used their service for long time, didn't miss it anyway because the app it's not accurate at all and full of gaps.
Now I was billed $167, 3x times the initial subscription amount that I paid for a year ago. I explained the situation and kindly asked for a refund but they refused it hiding behind their "refund policy".
Companies that do this don't act in good faith, if a customer is not using their service anymore why charge them and scam their money away?
I requested a chargeback and will be leaving negative reviews everywhere until I get the money back. That's what unhappy customers do and these shady companies fail to understand this.

Recovery specialists my arse. These recovery “experts” are no different than the 99.9% fake recovery companies that have “experts, specialists” Asked about upfront fees, costs, deposits, payments or any other financial obligation required on my part before we have our funds in our account of choice, they said no. Then all of a sudden upfront hidden fees. We needed to deposit a shitload of money before we received our “recovered funds”. They aren’t honest upfront even when you ask them these questions. Save yourself time and energy. Don’t use “their experts” to recover your lost funds. Unfortunately I had to give one star if I had not had too then it would not have gotten a star at all.

Great tool with a great support, I had a issue with my access and it was responded by support team with a quick solution and clear instructions.

Customer service is really bad. Coinbase and Kraken track really good. Certain wallets won't track correctly and customer service is a joke

CoinStats is the best way to monitor a bunch of assets. It’s cheaper than its competitors and allows almost unlimited wallet updates with a premium account. You also have access to their API with the same subscription if you need data for your automations. Moreover, I’ve been in contact with their support team to request the addition of new assets, and they’re really responsive. Thanks for your great work guys.
