Windows fine. You must know absolutely what you want. No upfront assistance/advice. We didn’t include a sill as thought it was included and they left us waiting for three weeks until I complained and then said our fault. No sill. Happy to take the money though.

Illy was fantastic to deal with and super patient in putting up with all my questions (of which there were many!). Illy provided all the clarity I needed in a very short space of time and it was very much appreciated. It was a super smooth process once I had come to my decision and the after sales piece (working through the design before going to production) was clear and filled me with confidence that they would do a great job. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Paul came and fitted new windows and doors and roof lantern in a new garden room at very short notice and was able to fit around my commitments, contact was very easy and had a reply straight away, unlike other companies. The price was very good for the quality of work. He arrived on time and nothing seemed an issue. Paul has good experience and is knowledgable in the field.
Paul has come back a couple of times as well to put finishing trims around and also replace a couple of pains of glass.
I would highly recommend paul I will certainly be using paul in the future for my next project. His attention to detail is very good.

Great service and fantastic price, bit of an issue with the windows, but fair play to the team they helped me through the process. Will use them again and would recommend these over most window suppliers

Excellent company which I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. We purchased a Sash Window for our kitchen and from start to finish the customer service from Radina was excellent- she went over and above to help us out.
Delivery was 3 weeks as expected and we was fully updated throughout with the drivers details and time slot which was as expected.
The window arrived and was packaged well without any issues at all. Our builder who installed it commented on the quality of the window stating it was exceptional especially for the price we paid.
I would go anywhere else and if we do decide to upgrade any of our existing windows, we will most definitely be getting them from Colins Sash Windows!!

Thanks to ColinSash and their partners for sorting out the issue we had. Will surely recommend to friends and family.
Reasonable windows from the other side of the street, although various join seams were visible and some had noticeable gaps in them on close inspection. However, customer service was very disappointing - one of the windows came in 4 sections with no cill or joining strips rendering it impossible to fit. I was fobbed off and dismissed when I raised this issue, which lost me various fitters, resulting in substantial financial loss. I found the customer service condescending - in particular the deliberate and repeated mispronunciation of my name - a strategy used to undermine me as the customer. Colin's Sash Windows had ample opportunity to resolve my complaint but chose not to, therefore it is unfortunate that a negative review is necessary. My advice is to steer clear of this company.
From the placing of an order, delivery on time, technical support and installation Colin's Windows have been first class. Colin himself provided some clarification, advice and support himself. The product is superb and would highly recommend. Will definitely use again.
I've been buying windows and doors from colins windows for about 3 years for my various projects. Good prices, quality and service
Really good prices, products and delivery. Recommended
colin thanks for your reply, its a shame we have had to communicate through trust pilot as you refused to reply to my friendly straightforward questions about the maintenance of my windows i purchased from you.
i did indeed ask you to sell me spare springs...you could of advised me then that i needn`t have bothered as you will send out an engineer if there are any problems.. here on trust pilot is the first time you`ve mentioned an engineer.. if you deny this i can put on here all the email correspondence between us.
The only thing near any paper work i have from you is the order details of my windows in a email you sent. it would be good if after receiving delivery of the windows customers get a letter or email of thanks for your custom...a few tips on looking after the windows i`e keep clean with non detergent soapy water bla bla and the mechanical parts of your windows are under guarantee any problems call and we will send an engineer. but that is far from what actually happens and i had to pry information from you... again i can back up what i`m saying with our emails.
Before i go, dare i ask one more question? how much does the engineer cost to fix the springs if they are out of the 10 year guarantee?
Windows look fantastic, service very good and helpful. Only minor issue is that I think the sash handles should be fitted (if desired) at the factory.
The windows are great and the service has been excellent.
Hi Colin,
Thank you for sorting our window out. Your company has been brilliant from start to finish. Inevitably, sometimes materials fail but you and your team have been fantastic in putting it right and I'm really grateful - it's a rare thing these days.
Thanks again,
Ita.
We ordered our windows in three separate orders and the first batch to arrive were genuinely fantastic. They were well made and had a coil spring mechanism which made opening a closing them very smooth. The second and third orders arrived with several issues. There were quite obvious bits missing such as a sash stop and a flap missing from a trickle vent, but we only discovered this after the windows had been fitted by the builders. The missing parts were mailed out to us (very quickly) with the expectation that we would sort out the problems ourselves. I didn’t question this at the time as the builders said they could sort out the faults, but now that the builders have gone I’ve realised that Colins sash windows really don’t want to take any responsibility for actually fixing the faults – they just want to send out replacement parts.
Unfortunately the biggest problem was that they changed the design of the sash mechanism after the first batch had been delivered – without telling us. The fantastic coil spring mechanism was replaced with flimsy spring steel and one of these flimsy springs had broken before it had even been delivered. The reason Colin’s sash windows gave for the change of spring was that there are two types of design and depending on the order the designer will make the decision about which type of spring to use. The reason doesn’t make any sense to me as we now have identical spec / size windows but one has the good coil spring and the other has the rubbish spring steel.
To be absolutely clear the spring steel design is terrible. It feels awful compared to the coil spring mechanism. But the worst part is that in order to replace the broken spring you have to cut into the window frame! Yup – actually cut through the brand new window frame to remove the old spring and replace it. It is very very difficult job involving routing out a hole in the frame big enough to extract the spring bracket and then fiddling about to get the new spring in. Why would anyone design windows that need to be cut apart in order to replace the springs - especially when it looks like the springs are going to need replacing on a regular basis?
On balance I wish I could have rejected all the windows with the rubbish springs but we don’t have enough money to pay the builders to remove and install another set of windows so we are stuck with them.
Although they send out the replacement parts quickly there has been no interest in doing anything other than sending out the bits they missed / that boke – with the assumption that it’s all my problem to sort out their quality control issues and poor design decisions.
If all the windows had been as good as the first batch I would be a very happy man, but I am now left with mis-matched windows, over half of which have a spring that will undoubtedly break at some point which means all the window frames will need to have holes cut into them to replace them.
All things considered I really would have gone to the local place up the road and paid a bit more so that if there were any problems I could get them out to sort it. As it stands Colins sash windows guarantees seem worthless as they just want to send out bits rather than actually fix the problems.
A real shame because if there hadn't been the quality control issues, design changes / issues and lack of genuine interest in customer support the windows themselves could potentially be very good.
EDIT: - 30/06/2018
Colin has been in touch and is proposing to send an engineer out to swap over the springs in the bottom half of the windows - which is where the change of design is most obvious and I guess the ones which will see most use. He has taken full responsibility for the issues and says they have now changed their procedures to ensure that future customers will have the information on the different springs available to them prior to purchase. In light of this - and particularly the honest and transparent way in which Colin has taken on board the comments and seems to be genuinely trying to resolve the issues, I am increasing the 3 stars to 4 and will keep the review updated following the proposed remedial action.
We ordered 63 sliding sash windows. All fitted and all I can say is wow! Fantastic quality and we saved over £6000 on the nearest quote! They gave our builder excellent advice and everything was spot on.
We have ordered 4 windows in total. All has been installed ok, all works fine apart of one. That window is faulty. When we contacted Colin's Sash, first they told us we need to contact manufacturer of the window. The manufacturer obviously told us that we need to deal with Colin's Sash since it was them who sold us the windows. Colin's Sash were refusing to accept the fact that the one window is faulty until we sent them a video clearly showing the issue.
Yet they still refuse to exchange it and said that engineer will come to have a look and potentially to fix it...in 7 WEEKS TIME!!! What a joke. We have a small child, the window is in nursery room, it's unsafe and cannot be used properly yet Mr Sash Windows don't care in the slightest.
We also wanted to buy some french doors and possibly more windows for the front of our house but after this experience we will use different company.
I would strongly discourage people from using Colin's Sash. Especially if you have small children.
Not to mention the awful after sales service you get from them once something goes wrong.
