COMPACT CARS....
Bought my 5th mini from dave at compact, been dealing with him for years,,, always explains all parts of the car, and i don’t feel silly asking questions!

Fantastic sales team were very friendly and knowledgeable - had a great deal - really positive experience and highly recommended.

Part exchanged my Ford Fiesta 1.5 for a Hyundai ix35 on 1st March couldn’t collect the car until 8th March due to the car having advisories which wasn’t dealt with. Collected the car was told all checked over nothing wrong, passed Mot with no advisories, whoever examined the car wrote the date of 14.03.2024 and it was only the 8th so just ticked everything without actually checking the car(I have photo evidence of the papers). Drove about 20 minutes from the dealership with my 2 young children in the car to realise the car had no indicators, hazards, the handbrake wouldn’t hold on a little hill, boot wouldn’t shut tidy, passenger side window button wouldn’t work so took it back the following Monday 11th March was told it was going to a “Hyundai specialist” which they basically sent it to a cowboy in back lane somewhere, wouldn’t give us no updates or information about the car, wouldn’t give us the address or name of the “specialist”. 2 week later still without a car because it was getting fixed we finally knew it had a huge electrical fault. I paid £99 admin fee, £100 deposit, paid tax on the vehicle, 1 months insurance and 1 month of finance and I didn’t even have the car. Went down the dealership on 27th March and decided I wanted to change the vehicle because the Hyundai is still in pieces at the garage. Rang 3rd April was told to collect my new car which was Fiat 500X at 11:30am on the 4th April which had a window problem, was told the button is being delivered Friday. Went down to the dealership yesterday to collect it had nothing but attitude off the staff, they decided not to go ahead with my new car and gave us no reason at all. They wanted an extra £300 deposit which we were willing to pay considering how much we spent on the Hyundai plus diesel back and forth which costed us £40-£60 in total. Had nothing but excuses, wouldn’t reimburse all our money but gave us £100. Manager wouldn’t come out to talk to us very unprofessional for a business he was getting his staff to send messages to us, rang trading standards as they sold us a non road worthy car which could of caused an accident, breached their contract that I signed to purchase a car. Didn’t pay off my part exchange and I was paying for 2 finances. All my belongings are still in the Hyundai but was told they can’t get them until the car comes back to them which could be months. Disgusting company I definitely wouldn’t recommend, hope they get shut down. Wouldn’t even rate them 1 star

No log book ever posted, car is not drivable , sham aftersales and warranty. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE ,, YOU WILL REGRET IT

No issues with the sales service or the way I was dealt with but I think the vehicle I was sold had defects they would have or should have been aware of.

Although the vehicle has high mileage it was described as well maintained and I was assured any issues to come back to them and they would see what they could do.

Within a few weeks s side step brother away from the bodywork as the bracket was rusted through so I contacted them and they did resolve this as requested by writing the bracket.

A few weeks later the battery died and investigation showed severe corrosion to the battery connectors and a possible fault with the alternator. I contacted them and they said they might take a look but no promises as now outside their warranty period (shorter than standard due to mileage), they subsequently confirmed not covered. Another garage felt the issue may only be due to the connectors so continued to drive but sure enough the alternator failed and needed replacing.

Only a couple of months after this while driving due the motorway the clutch went requiring breakdown recovery. This was a slave cylinder failure resulting in a replaced slave cylinder and clutch, when this was done it was also pointed out the the gear linkage cable had been repaired using cable ties rather than being replaced as they should have been.

When replacing the two from tyres the garage have now informed me that there is severe play in both front wheels, probably due to worn track rods/ends which will need replacing.

The vehicle was sold with a new MOT with no advisories but given that the wiper blades were rigid so didn't wipe I take the validity of the MOT with a pinch of salt. I believe given the uneven wear on the tyres that the track rods were already worn at time of purchase and this should have resulted in at least an advisory on the MOT.

I have not contacted Compact Cars with these additional faults as after them declining the alternator there did not seem much point.

So less than 6 months of ownership and alternator replaced, slave cylinder and clutch replaced, gear linkage cable temporarily fixed with part designed for the job rather than cable ties. Track rods need replacing and tyres wore excessively quickly due to the issue with track rods.

These are issues that would definitely have been present at point if sale.

Just bought a car from compact cars super service, quick and easy and Luis was a knowledgeable and polite young man. I would highly recommend and will be buying there again in the future

In September 2023, I purchased a VW Caddy van in preparation for my retirement. I've had nothing but problems with it and have had to return on numerous occasions for various reasons. I've been repeatedly fobbed off and given all sorts of excuses.
Three months after purchasing, a technician finally agreed to come for a test drive with me after I had been reporting a steering problem when going above 60 mph. He was terrified when he saw the condition of the vehicle, and we were both shaken up after almost losing control driving at 70mph on the motorway. He admitted that driving it was dangerous!
Even with the technician experiencing firsthand that I was driving a potential death trap, they 'fixed' the issue by replacing the ABS pump with a second hand one!
I’d had enough of the issues and excuses, and especially using a second-hand part to 'repair' something that was already so dangerous. I requested to speak with the manager, but the sales team informed me that he does not interact with customers. I can only presume the reason for this is that he is filled with remorse for taking people's hard-earned money and selling them such dangerous vehicles.
Compact Cars takes pride in being an 'AA Approved Dealer', and their website makes it apparent what this means. It's ridiculous that they can advertise this when they failed to meet the criteria.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

From start to finish, Luis was incredible! Really friendly, answered all of my questions, and was never pushy in trying to get a sale. I was kept up to date with all progress with the car in regards to the MOT. Everyone else there were always really friendly and welcoming.

I bought a lovely Golf Estate from Compact Cars,and Darren was very knowledgeable about the car in question.
We had a small issue with the car,and Alex had this sorted very quickly.

Mike was amazing from the start, very friendly and approachable. He was really helpful in finding my partner the car he was looking for but then assisted me with the purchase of a car I’ve always wanted. Highly recommend compact cars and vans Bridgend.
Luis was also very friendly throughout the whole process and welcomed both me and my partner on both visits along side Mike as if we were friends rather than customer.

Well what can one say about this company, simply brilliant, trustworthy and excellent value for money.
My sister was looking for a car and so we popped down here. We were greeted by Luis who was welcoming and friendly and very professional.
Any questions we asked about the car we saw was answered in full detail, from ownerships to service history.
Luis was great as he never pushed for a sale, gave good honest opinion and a true reflection on the car which is so refreshing to have.
We picked the car up today, inspected it and all the MOT, etc was completed as they said they would.
Overall, this is a great place to go and see, brilliant customer service from all in every aspect very happy customers indeed!!
