I bought a refurbished computer from…

I bought a refurbished computer from them.

initially communication was difficult as they literally, never, answer their telephone ( I called them more than 25 times over 10 days and never once got through - you just get a recorded message telling you to use their website live chat system, or music and no voicemail)

they don't reply to emails (or messages left online via their online live chat provision) and you are forced to use the online chat, which is very hit and miss as to whether it is even live, or if they will respond.

that live chat means you never have a paper trail for any conversations - that is a big red flag.

however, once through I thought they were friendly enough so we ordered a computer; they modified certain things - as per our needs - and it arrived really fast. so far, so good!

however, the machine was faulty (it happens) and had to be returned. this is where those earlier communication issues really kicked in. i'd have been happy to order another refurbished machine from them - to give them the benefit of the doubt. i'm glad i decided not to!

ultimately i had to force a refund via Klarna (who we'd used to purchase the computer) as I was getting absolutely nowhere with Microchoice - a promised 48 hour window to see funds turned into quite a few more days, before i realised i was never going to get my money back directly. Klarna were never notified of the refund - it was Klarna who forced a refund to happen when I booked a return via their own online system.

maybe you'll be ok and get a working computer. but, if it does arrive faulty, i'd advise you either not to worry about losing money or be ready to fight hard to get your money back. i lost about 5-6 hours simply trying to make contact and get a response

since we returned a faulty machine, we should have automatically had any postage we paid out returned - as per the law here in the UK - but this never appeared. I'm not surprised and i now don't have time to waste chasing the £15 we paid for expedited delivery and/or returning the faulty machine.

my advice? sadly, i'd suggest you look elsewhere.

i want to believe in smaller shops. this was an example of why people don't. in the end i bought elsewhere and have been absolutely bowled over by the customer service of the shop i ended purchasing a computer from. if it hadn't been such a contrast maybe I'd have written off the experience. but i like to be honest and my encounter with Microchoice was, I'm afraid, really poor.

i don't think they're inherently bad, but customer service needs to extend beyond taking orders. you can win customers when things go wrong too.

Can't recommend this company enough

Can't recommend this company enough. I wanted to get the kids starter gaming PCs and found them here at an excellent price. Ordered a few things over a period coming to Christmas and there was a few mix ups but clear communication and great customer service meant these were all sorted in a timely fashion. If you want pc setups I defo would say these guys are great

Slow communication

Slow communication...Waited for a response 4 days. Purchased a bundle and the keyboard/mouse started malfunctioning quickly, the rest is fine.

excellent customer service

Bought a PC in February, it was delivered 48 hours later and has been fantastic. Had an issue with it yesterday, contacted tech help and it was sorted via email over the course of the day with Steve. Excellent customer service and will be purchasing another PC soon

Extremely Reliable - First Class Service

Purchased a gaming PC bundle with a CPU upgrade. Items arrived on time and as described - extremely well packaged. Had a little problem with the monitor cable but customer service was wonderful and pleasant to deal with. I'm also really pleased with the fact that VAT can be paid at checkout, instead of having to go through the hassle of paying it separately. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to purchase a gaming PC on a budget.

Recent purchase.

i recently purchased a refurbished Dell Opitplex 7020 SFF Pc. With a refurbished 19 ich dell monitor . I also purchased some extra storage 1 TB. I aslo purchased the Bull guard \anti virus /Security software.
I am very pleased with my purchase i used to have an old dell PC that was very slow. I use my PC for personal use and online work related training. This is the first time i have decide to purchased a refurbished PC. I have saved some money and acquired a PC that is fast and reliable .

Yet another superb serfvice from Compuzone

My 9th computer purchase from compuzone in the week before Christmas, and as with all previous purchases thie latest was a superb example of service, quality product and fast delivery.
On any occasion when I have had a problem, usually of my own making, the follow up service and guidance has been excellent.
An excellent example of on line service.

gaming pc bundle

Orderded a gaming pc bundle and it arrived well packaged and within the time frame given. On the first day my son locked himself out and we contacted their support team who were highly efficient and sorted the issue out. We would highly recommend them.

My computer arrived when stated, very well packed and worked first time after the obligatory Windows 10 setup.

Communication with Compu-Zone was prompt and very pleasant.

Fantastic products and great service. Recommended.

Bought a PC from these guys a bit more than a year ago. On the verge of the one year warranty the PC would not boot up. Customer service were very helpful in trying to diagnose the problem. It turned out to be a motherboard issue. PC was sent back to them and they returned it very quickly (in Ireland) repaired and as new. Very good no hassle service and the products are good value for money. When you buy a refurbished PC something like this can always happen. Would buy there again for sure.

Where is my webcam?

I bought a dual screen computer to work from home. In initial set up the second monitor did not work, I contacted the technical support who were no help. I bought another cable from amazon and that solves the problem. The package was suppose to come with a web camera which I have chased a number of times only to be told that it was coming. The latest is that they have been stopped at customs. As I need a webcam this has been very frustrating - I have asked for a refund for the cost of the web cam and this has not been forthcoming. The computer itself if ok, it is not great and on average freezes about 3 times a day during an 8 hour session so I have to switch off and reboot - as I work from a remote server this means I don’t lose any work so is not too much of an issue for me. This is not the worst company I have ever dealt with but I definitely would not recommend them.

Bought a gaming PC in May 2019 for my…

Bought a gaming PC in May 2019 for my teenager, really quick delivery and impressed with machine. Worked perfectly until end of April, just wouldn't start up, went straight to blue screen of death every time. Emailed support centre who were polite, helpful and allowed me to fix it at home (and I've virtually no IT skills- they were very patient and explained everything clearly). So now it's back to working perfectly.
So- great computer, great price, great service, couldn't ask for more. Will be back for any computer needs and recommending to anyone else.

I am thoroughly pleased with both the…

I am thoroughly pleased with both the service and the quality of product purchased from Compu-Zone. My old Dell Inspiron, bought new back in 2007, having served me well for the past thirteen years finally fell victim to ever increasing demands from data rich and information dense online traffic, the final blow being Microsoft's decision to end support for Win 7.

I am not as rich as I was back in 2007 thus had to grub around for my replacement machine in the murky depths of the refurbished and reconditioned ex corporate secondhand market.

I decided to stick with Dell and locked on on the Optiplex range. I wanted a tower as this architecture allows for better component cooling and thus extended component life. 8 gig RAM was the minimum I would accept and needed 1TB HDD. Systems of this spec on offer in the Irish market were a bit overpriced. I refused to buy from private sellers as the potential hassles were just too awful to contemplate. I ended up finding Compu-Zone in the UK. The had a huge range of PCs and were to upspec an Optiplex 790 for me.

Compu_Zone have the advantage of having a Dublin based department set up to ease any cross border financial gremlins. This they did and I was able order the machine, upgrades and shipping for well under the cost of systems on offer anywhere in Ireland.

The Optiplex arrived today within the promised 5 working days specified. I plugged it into my existing peripherals and it fired up and began configuring its fresh copy of WIN10 Professional. All was done and dusted within 45 mins and I now have a fast, efficient and solidly reliable PC once more.

I am more than happy with cost, service, attention to detail and speed of my transaction with Compu-Zone and thoroughly recommend them for all your computer needs.

Great technician but not anymore!

This is our 3rd computers from Compu-Zone UK. We didn't have any problem with our last 2 machines, it runs smoothly. However, we have a slight issue with the audio but with their outstanding professionalism and their brilliant customer service, they managed to fix this issue in no time!!

Update: graphics card problem, then sounds problem, now the computer is dead! Poor customer services in the last few months, very disappointed. Avoid at all cost!
