Rude customer service, the worst I've ever experienced.
Apart from being locked out for using the ATM multiple times a day, and having to make multiple calls for ATM code replacements, I have to say it, this is the worst bank I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. But my experience in dealing with the customer service in person is what did it in for me.
I once walked into a bank in Montpelier, get migrated over to an older English peaking lady. I was very polite but for some reason the lady just wasn't in the mood to do her job. She gives me this look of disgust, asks me "What do you want?" in a very rude tone. I ask to make a withdrawal, and before she even lifts a finger she says "no."
I just walked out of the bank.
Your customer service is horrible... That's the nicest way I'm going to put it...
A joke of a bank
A joke of a bank. it takes ages for them to do anything, So bureaucratic it's almost like the embodiment of every stereotypes about French inefficient bureaucracy.
Il faut un temps infini pour faire qui que ce soit et l'acces a vos compte par internet est aussi tres limite. Bref, je ne recommande pas.
Terrible bank service
Despite my numerous requests and lengthy calls with this bank to have them stop sending me commercials SMS every morning at 8.30AM, they still continue to do so. It has been month, and there is no way out despite what they promise every time - they stop sending SMS upon request, and they enable them again a month later. This is a breach to GDPR right not to be harassed. Unfortunately I cannot remove my phone number from their file as they also use this number to send the security code when login in to the website. Also the contact cannot be blocked. So I have no choice but to get a stupid SMS from this bank at 8.30 am every morning until the end of time. Completely ridiculous. Do not go to this bank, they are completely incapable of managing their own system.
[UPDATE] After voicing my complaints and explaining the agents I talk to were incompetent, the bank adressed me a letter saying they will forcefully close my account, because 'after review' they consider my messages offensive. True story!
They did not even write this in their email (probably also to cowardly for that), instead they send me a PDF with an IMAGE containing the text about closing my accounts forcefully. Most likely to avoid receiving any answer or to have the letter published.
Completely ridiculous. So not only you need to cope with harassment over SMS, and constant locks preventing transferring money, now they also decide to close the account because they were triggered. How sad is that.
Avoid
Avoid - We applied for a loan with these under a product of theirs SOFINCO, they accepted the loan but did not transfer any money. They have since taken money from our accoutn for loan payments. They do not respond to emails, nor can you speak to anyone. Avoid.
CA Britline...expensive with no benefits
Signed up to CA Britline, lots of flannel about personal manager to help...appears the only help is how to spend money with not much assistance. everything in french, get sent access to a new App, which is all in French. chat service not english. Pretty crappy service all in all for what you pay for it. not free
Incompetence AND bullcrap, no way to recover our money!
We have been attempting to transfer some cash to the US that accumulated in our Credit Agricole accounts since NOVEMBER (we are ex-French residents). It is now the end of JANUARY and they are STILL finding ways to avoid transferring the money to the US. In fairness it's not all bad will, some of it is due to sheer incompetence. But there's no doubt there's plenty of bs in there too, they're well trained to keep you OUT: 1) the transfer dept doesn't have outside lines (i.e., no you can't call them to correct their errors; 2) no, you can't talk on the phone to the head of the agency he's "busy." 3) No, I can't call you, you're in the US, the bank won't allow it (though they'd done it plenty of times in the past when it involved transfers TO their bank!); 4) we need to know what you're going to do with your money (!!!). Etc.
good if you want a bank from the 80s
+ lots of branches in rural locations, friendly staff
- minimal bank functionality, app very glitchy, often takes up to 3 days to update, online banking clunky at best often doesn't work at all, can't use any branch except your own, and you have to pay for this
I insured my French house through…
I insured my French house through Credit Agricole Britline for 16 years at a cost of about 400 Euros a year. Then my house had a burglary in 2020. Up to this point I had made no insurance claims. The damage and stolen goods came to 2600 Euros. The company agreed to pay 500 Euros. This was far more upsetting than the actual burglary itself because you feel robbed by the people who you were paying and trusting to protect you. Credit Agricole farm out their insurance side of the business to a company called Pacifica. Avoid both. I hope that reading this review will save some people what I have been through.
They blocked online transactions…
They blocked online transactions because I tried to buy a laptop. Then they blocked my usage of atm machines and my card got locked inside . now I can't make payments on my phone bill. I'm in the military and don't have the time to play all their games. the English line never works. They gave me a new personal code after a week of bs and it's not even a real code (too short to be used).
Absolutely the worst bank I've ever experienced.
I've never written a review for any company before, but I had to take the time to warn others to avoid this bank at all costs. I have never had so much difficulty with an organization in my entire life. For starters, each agency has only ONE person working the front desk at all times. Get ready for long waits. Next, the bank is always changing their own rules about what you can and cannot do with the online banking application, to the point that it's entirely useless. For example, I wanted to increase the spending limit on my checking account card. There's an option to do this in the online banking app. However, for unknown reasons, the application informs me it's unable to process my request at this time. So I talk to an advisor to try to fix the problem. Unfortunately, none of the advisors actually know anything about the bank they work at. One told me to 'try downloading the my card app and increasing your limit there' then abruptly ended the chat. By time I finally downloaded the app, I found that it doesn't even have the functionality to adjust spending limits, it only lets you SEE what the spending limits are. Then I went back to the chat support and told the advisor that the app didnt work. They then told me to email the advisor at my specific branch and request for a limit increase. I sent an email to my advisor and got an automated response telling me that 'such requests cannot be fulfilled over email' and that I must call my advisor over the phone. Okay...so I called my advisor repeatedly, but he is never available! I always get sent to voicemail! I'm still waiting for a response. Now multiply this process for every single transaction or process you can think of involving banks. Transferring money? Adding a verified phone number to your account? Exchanging currency? All of these processes have been absolute nightmares that have stressed me out to no end. I can't wait to switch banks the second I get the chance.
Really annoying in a systematic way
Really annoying in a systematic way. I am french and Crédit Agricole was and is my first and only bank I ever had in France because it was easier for my parents, but for 5 years that I am living abroad and need to do regular transfers and remote actions, it's been hell!! Every other month I get upset because of something and I think about quitting this bank. It can be that I can't pay rent because I've reached my maximum amount for the month (even though I DO have the money and I am almost 30) and this is the "best and more freeing contract and card" they have. Well, thank you NOT! For a freelancer, and mostly someone living abroad the service and card offers are the WORST! You are blocked in every way to spend your own money and anything that can be done in 2 min online with any other bank takes 2 months (and often can't even be done) with them. The shame of all the banks.
It appears that if you have a refund…
It appears that if you have a refund from a company they hold on to your money, I got a refund on the 13th of july it still has not appeared in my account.
They are thiefs
They are thiefs, they say they want to do grate things but they are thiefs that only want to steal your money, specially if you are not french, be carefully. When you want to close your bank account, if you are a foreigner they will not close it and they will still get the mensuality.
Having to contact them is always a dreadful experience, so unprofessional, they absolutely don't care about you or about the bank.
Chose the bank for English speaking…
Chose the bank for English speaking customer service. But, applied for a credit card, stil hasn't arrived 2 months later despite 5 phone calls each saying next week it'll arrive. Issue is we can't order medical device without a swiss card, and so this is a serious health impact now. Just not even close to being good enough.
A bunch of unskilled people who don't care at all
I don't know their level in incompetency in England but in France they are a disaster.
They hire only young people who don't have a clue about what customer service means. They just talk to you like they speak to their friends, horrendous.
Now in France, they charge you a monthly fee to look after your account.
If you just want to add a new beneficiary abroad, you cannot do it online, you need to talk with an assistant they say who will manage to register this new beneficiary within a week if lucky, knowing that if I was allowed to do it myself, it takes 1 minute.
Having to contact them is always a dreadful experience, so unprofessional, they absolutely don't care about you or about the bank.
very poor service
very poor service, not clear at all, wrong info. Result? I cannot use my own money. Absurd.
Untrustworthy & unprofessional
Untrustworthy & unprofessional - recent meeting with local branch was told that there was missing information about some insurance policies, & then having given the info I was advised that the premiums would reduce by c20€ & 30€ respectively totalling c50€. Then they tried to sell me a new different insurance policy but I declined the new policy. After the meeting they backtracked and only reduced the premiums by c10€ each totalling c20€. I also requested refund for previous years as the bank CHOSE not to update their information, so I lost out financially. I believe this to be dishonest. They then cancelled another insurance policy out of the blue and without my request nor my consent, & after 6 weeks & 4 letters this has STILL not been reinstated. Sent numerous letters, but largely been ignored. They just direct you to the FBF as they clearly can't be bothered to do anuything. They have completely messed up my account. I feel you need to send a rocket up their backsides to get them to do anything! Appalling is not a strong enough word
I opened an account last month and must…
I opened an account last month and must say it is better than other banks in the UK.
Excellent fast & reliable service
Excellent fast & reliable service. With people you can actually talk to face to face in a branch without appointment.
customer care vote 0
customer care vote 0, you can not get information, I'm migrating from banca dinamica to credit agricol italia (forced choice) and there is no Christian who is worthy of assistance. I will close this account as soon as possible because there is no customer service, unthinkable a world bank does not spend in assistance! shame !!!!
