Crimestoppers - WHERE?

Tried to report an incident of drug dealing from a car - partial VRM obtained: letter (three spaces unknown) then three letters with a colour, make and model of car obtained on a road which is in a small market town. Full comprehensive description of single dealing occupant available. Was informed that unless I could provide full VRM and name of dealing driver they couldn't take a report. As an ex detective constable with a major UK police force there was more than sufficient detail to be passed on: the call handler simply WASN'T INTERESTED!!!!! Seems this organisation is as disinterested as policing in general!

This charity is a scam

This charity is a scam. They are not genuinely interested in helping. Don't waste your time calling them, believing you can contribute to society by reporting crime. Their focus will not be on addressing crime; instead, they will try to discourage you from reporting it.

Don't bother contacting crimestoppers! They're not upto it!

Phoned up crimestoppers. Was on the phone waiting patiently. Finally, got through after 18 minutes. Reporting a vehicle which didn't have a valid mot! They weren't interested in helping report it, unless I had a a name and address! Even if you've got the vehicle registration number they weren't interested. So my advice is don't bother with crimestoppers! A waste of space. Won't do anything about it. Ridiculous!

1.7 stars as at 04 Apr 25 says it all…

1.7 stars as at 04 Apr 25 says it all don't you think. I have reported incidence of a single repeated breaking of the law and received no follow-up response/questions. The reports identified credible risk to life and this 'charity' are asleep.
You may suggest I call the emergency numbers. This is not possible as explained in my submission. I needed anonymity and previous attempts put in place by the police to enable anonymous reporting have all ceased, or available options are not clear. That is why I attempted to make a difference through Crimestoppers UK. Cutbacks I guess.

what a waste!

I stand and watch a dealer on a pushbike ride up to 3 tossers waiting on a prominent corner, he takes out three wraps, they walk off, he rides in a different direction, i call the police telling them what I see, and about to give a full description, it continues just like this,
'sorry, can i stop you there?, you need to ring crimestoppers who will be able to sort this for you, thank you'.
Hello, crimestoppers, Hi, i have just seen a drug deal and have a very goos description of the offenders, the guy on the bike...'Sorry sir, if you don't have a car reg or house number/address, you need to ring the police....... Great eh? no wonder were screwed!

Utter rubbish - there is NO REWARD! EVER

Utter rubbish. Absolute disgrace of a service. I gave very detailed, decent proper information regarding drug dealing and I’m not just talking someone who’s looked out the window a few times. The info I provided was personal. potentially I’m putting myself at risk. I didn’t want to go through my local police force as I needed to remain anonymous for my safety and due to the fact I don’t want the hassle. I submit said info, request a reward code, wait months on end, mess around ringing them twice to be told to ring back, when I ring back a long time later, nothing, absolutely nothing. The call operator was not at all interested. Apparently the police have chosen ‘not to give a reward on this occasion’. Not even a thank you. By reading other reviews there is no reward, ever. Shambles of a company. And I know for a fact, the dealing has not been dealt with and is still continuing (granted the police may be investigating, from a distance) but ultimately the info I gave was more than sufficient for them to easily catch them in the act and be able to build a decent case.

England is wrecked and out of control

England is wrecked and out of control, organised and encouraged, by:-
1. Governments.
2. County Councils.
3. Police.
4. All the Courts and their "systems".
5. Drugs.
6. Alcohol.
7. Everyone's vile and toxic behaviour.
8. Everyone's obsession with money, greed and selfeness.
9. No self respect, let alone love.
10. Jealously.
11. And this list goes on and on.

Bottom line - the vast majority of human beings are toxic and rotten to the core.

Thankfully, that does not include me !!!!

Good evening.

Sexist hateful targeted adverts

I'm a gay man who was sexually assaulted around 2-3 times as a teenager by people I trusted. Woke up from a terrifying dream about one of the incidents, to find crime stoppers sending me targeted adverts about "how do you target women". Showed me all I need to know. Just because I'm male, I must be a evil person who targets women, right? Deffinetly not the victim of SA by women, right? Disgusting sexist attitude by so called crime stoppers...

Opened a case, and a keep in contact account. Saved login in password manager. Worked. 1 day later... "Your login attempt was unsuccessful". And don't respond that i should have written down the login info because i did. This is a technical issue with your website or a staff issue.

I can give some feedbacks…

I have reported something and created an account to wait for updates. The account didn’t work anymore the following day as it says that the password was wrong. So many users are having the same issue I can read here, so I don’t understand, why don’t they fix this problem?

It would be also worth to know if the report sent is actually sent to law enforcement or discarded directly from Crimestopper volunteers for any reason… at least people won’t write here that nothing is being done by YOU, if they know that you have sent it to the police… since the responsibility of “doing nothing” won’t be in you…

Nothing happens

Nothing happens. I've been giving information about a Nazi who is threatening to hurt people, owns weapons and he is ongoing. Nothing has been done, and he is continuing to do that.

Utterly pointless

Utterly pointless. I have been told the Police are too busy to bother with any of the information submitted. I’ve been giving intel on a drug dealer for a year now and still nothing has been done.

Your vital information on a drug dealer does make a difference to the local community in a number of different ways. Just because no visible action has been taken against the drug dealer, they may well be monitoring activities in other ways. Some investigations can take years to build up a case so continuing to report illegal activities in your area can help build a strong case.

What a waste of time

What a waste of time, why even bother to volunteer to do this service. Tried to report police corruption and they can do nothing, they can only report this to the police who Im making a report against and as expected get no reply. They even ask for a donation on their website, donation for what ? Not even worth one star.

It is the Police Standards Department that are also corrupt, they refuse to reply to my accusations and my extremely good evidence, no Hampshire police department will reply, all corrupt with no one to report them too, this is why I went to crime stoppers and you can do nothing, the Police Standards Department have no standards, they all stick together covering up each other’s crime. Please allow me to send my extremely good evidence to crime stoppers, you will probably not allow me, bloody disgusting. My evidence will take no longer than one hour for you to look and listen to as most of my evidence consists of voice recordings. I have the name and evidence against the man behind all this corruption which is why I get NO replies

Crimestoppers is a small UK based charity. Crimestoppers exists to take anonymous information about crime and pass this information on to the relevant authorities. If you wish to report a corrupt police officer, this can be reported online or by phone with Information regarding corrupt officers managed by the Professional standards team.
If the police have any questions regarding the information sent - they will be in touch via the system if there are any further questions. The current system is very rudimentary, however keeping the password safe, ensures ease of logging back into the system when required.

What is the point of Crimestopers

An ineffectual service for genuine conscientious people. You might as well ring the police direct. But you have to get yourself mentally ready for that. I understand why they have such a poor rating.
