I like the price per month

I like the price per month. I like that there are lots of machines to work out on. I DON'T like that the adductor and abductor machines face the area where many people are lifting weights. Why would the Gym not place these machines facing the wall? If that is not possible move them so they face another machine, at least then not so many people will be able to view your pelvic region as you open and close your legs. Also, why have the treadmills facing the space where people workout? The treadmills could face the other wall, and TVs placed there. These types of changes allow people to work out without others staring at them. I'm surprised the gym designers did not think more about these things when designing the layout. Finally, my experience with the staff has always been positive, they say hello, they help, they answer questions, all good. Thanks.

Read all the one star reviews please. Do not give your bank account or credit card to this company. If you do,you will definitely regret that. They will charge your accont or credit card and it will be nearly impossible to get the refund they charged in excess. They charged my credit card even after cancelling paying full payment.
This company is a total scam.

LEAGUE CITY

LEAGUE CITY, TX ~ I pay almost $100 per month for two memberships and another hundred dollars twice a year for who knows what at the League City, TX location and they no longer let you go ride a bike in the spin room unless there’s a class going on. They have 500 cardio machines out on the floor and not a single spin bike and they have the spin room locked. I talked to someone at corporate who happened to be there and he said they were going to get TWO spin bikes for the floor. That is freaking ridiculous. He said they have to lock the door now because the bikes were getting broken. How are those getting any more broken than the 500 cardio machines that are on the floor? Most of the time, I’m the only one in the spin room riding a bike when there’s no class going on so I have a hard time believing spin bikes were breaking more than the cardio equipment out on the floor. I will be canceling my membership.

I don't recommend this gym

I don't recommend this gym. It is difficult to cancel membership. You need to physically go in to the place where you signed up or send a certified letter to corporate. Tried calling to cancel but they wouldn't let me. On top of that they charge you another month of service calling it a "30 day notice". Website and app don't allow cancellations. Management are nonexistent. I couldn't speak to manager in branch he wouldn't come out. Call centers didn't allow me to speak with one either. They promised a call back but never called me. About facility its ok nothings special. Some of the reps are nice but I only recognize 1 person from last year. Tells a lot about its leadership and practices.

Poor management behavior and attitude

Poor management behavior and attitude, plus exhorbitant fees for sign up, and cancellation. My son, a body builder, was banned for taking his shirt off in the group fitness room. He was let back and we pair a high registration or something fee, only to be charged annual fee again 2 months later. Then, admittedly he took his shirt off in the empty group fitness room and the manager Shay saw it on cameras after and banned him. After contesting we got our $19 monthly fee back at least. Shay was unprofessional to our son with his attitude and finishing the email to him "grow up and follow the rules kid", which is my job to say if I choose to not his. His 21 year old brother just joined a gym and when we asked why not Crunch, "too many fees and I hate the attitude of the management". A quick search of reviews and online content seems to have a similar sentiment about manager Shay at that location. BTW I get the intent of the rule of shirts, which is hygeine and appropriateness, but he would do it semi privately for a short time, which is more understandable. He learned his lesson, but I wonder if management will ever learn theirs?
SO MUCH FOR THE "NO JUDGEMENT ZONE"

Irresponsible GM Brenden

Management at the Colleyville location lacks the ability to take responsibility of their staff not following their internal policy regarding cancelling the membership. If you sign up, just know they make the cancel process difficult and they contradict policy stated by other staff members. If you cancel, do it in person and require them to provide you with the documentation that the membership is cancelled. Their verbal word is useless. I just looked up their HQ in New York on the Better Business Bureau website and they have a score of "F" on multiple locations.

After being coerced into joining the…

After being coerced into joining the $150/month marketing membership, I requested to cancel within 48 hours. I was told no, until I emailed and posted on IG about my experience. I was sent an email granting my request, but with some polite digs. When I didnt respond, Andrea Chapilliquen, the 'in store' management team, sent this text :

"Hi Jodie, ( Its Jody, btw )
I wanted to confirm that Ive sent you an email regarding your refund and cancellation, which have both been processed, please allow up to 15 days. Moving forward Ill ensure that Adriane is more selective when choosing our partners to better protect the companys reputation. We aim to work with business minded individuals who view this as an investment, people who value the tools and resources we provide to help them succeed. Best wishes!

How incredibly rude to assume I am a risk to your companys reputation and that I am not business minded just because I didnt want to be in that contract with you, but your sales woman insisted so I went with it. If you’re referring to the fact I had to resort to social media for help making me a “risk” just shows you only care about your image… not your customers experience. There is no real reason to hold a customer to this contract after 48 hours on signing, aside from money! Proof your goal is nothing more than greed. What’s worse is there’s no one that cares above store level management for help. Dont go to Crunch… ever and Beware of Crunch Fitness in Plantation, Andrea the manager uses chat got to throw polite digs your way when she’s forced to comply.

What a horrible gym on bell road at percy priest lake, Hermitage TN. Recently joined. Went in today and cleaning lady was playing loud spanish music on her phone, sounding jibberish since I dont know spanish. When I asked if she could turn it off, she screamed, well I want to listen to it. She immediately went to a manager and he came to ladies locker room to speak with me. He stated she had phone in her pocket and listening to music while she cleaned and I need to be respectful in their house. She did not have phone in her pocket and plus I didn't know if she was filming when I undressed. Specificly, signage states no cell phones allowed. The lack of consideration and respect for customers is unbelievable. Of course the manager banned my membership. However, who would want to work out in that ugly atmosphere anyway. There are more mature, considerate, and respectful gyms with favorable character to their customers.

Update to credit/ refund

Update. The local gyms only apply for a credit back to corporate. If you read the paperwork they give you, they have 60 days to decide if you should even get a credit back or not. So the three unnecessary charges withdrawn from my account, I may not see for another 57 days. Mind you, those charges add up to over $130. The last two charges were withdrawn, EVEN AFTER MY ACCOUNT WAS “STRAIGHTENED OUT”. Which again, should be wire fraud. If you decide to join, do not put your card on your account. Tell them you want to be a cash player. If they refuse to sign you up because of that, RUN.
My biggest suggestion, as the squeaky wheel gets the grease: write to the State’s Attorney General, for the state you live in and complain your situation to them. In Florida, myfloridalegal “dot”com. Scroll down to the email address, and copy the information they request. Add it to your email.
At some point, they can’t deny investigating Crunch Fitness’s practices.
I also ask, how many that signed up, had an opportunity to read your agreement when you signed the iPad? And only got a copy to read when you checked your email?

If you’re looking for a gym

If you’re looking for a gym, do not come here. This place is a scam.

They lure you in with a $1 sign-up. I specifically asked if this was a contract, and the agent told me “no.” That was a lie. In reality, it is a contract but they never disclosed that, even after I asked directly because I did not want to be locked into one.

I was told that if I didn’t want to continue after the first month, I could cancel by reaching out. When I did, I was told I had to stay in the membership for 90 days before canceling. The agent even admitted, “How would they make money if people only pay $1 for the first month?” That’s not my problem I didn’t make the deal, and if they wanted more money, they should have charged more upfront.

I never received a contract at sign-up. Nothing was emailed or provided. After the $1 month, I was charged fees I wasn’t told about. Then, after changing my card, they continued charging my old card (causing bank fees) and also charged my new card. Now I’m stuck with bank fees, return fees, membership charges, and enrollment fees that were never explained.

This is a bait-and-switch company. Do not sign up with this gym. You’re better off buying equipment on Amazon , at least it will work. The equipment here is lackluster, often unavailable, and the gym is only for aesthetics. Staff and managers are incompetent.

Please beware. Do not sign up.

Trying to cancel your membership is…impossible!

Trying to cancel your membership is impossible if you move out of state. You need to get a Certified Letter from your local Post Office and then repeatedly send it to a PO Box address to the club location you signed up for. You cannot do it online nor can you go to the local club if near your new address. I am on month 3 trying to resolve this and have sent 3 certified letters and followed the process to no cancellation.

WATCH OUT FOR 10¢ AND .01¢ OFFER!

WATCH OUT FOR 10¢ AND .01¢ OFFER!

I signed up at Crunch Southpark Meadows for what was advertised as a two-week offer for $0.01. It appeared to be a simple low risk way to try the gym. Four days later, without ever using the facility, I requested to cancel. Instead of honoring the spirit of a “two-week” promo, the club attempted to charge me nearly $140, including an annual fee.

Only after signing up did I discover that the contract buries a cancellation window of just three days, which is unreasonably short compared to a clearly advertised “two-week” promo. The manager, Anica, later confirmed that it was never a trial at all, but a full membership where they “cover your first two weeks of dues.” That is not how the promotion was presented at the time of sign-up. The language used creates the impression of a two-week trial, while the fine print functions as a full membership with immediate fees attached.

This type of gap between the marketing message and the actual terms can be perceived as deceptive and misleading. Charging an annual fee to someone who never used the gym and tried to cancel four days in does not align with the idea of a .01¢ two-week experience. Anyone considering joining should read every line of the contract, because what is advertised does not match what you are actually committing to. This reflects poorly on the way they conduct business. This is not the type of business I would like to be part of.

Come to Crunch Fitness Palm Harbor & Be Assaulted

Crunch Fitness Palm Harbor. I'm a member of Palm Harbor Crunch Fitness. A month into their grand opening a member threated me with physical violence/assault ("Keep pushing me and I'll beat your ass old man") because I used one of three leg machines he was reserving. This was witness by several members as well as my training partner Ron. When Ron and I informed Carlos the manager, Carlos became defensive and then aggressive with me! Long story short, nothing was done.

On Oct 28th of last week, this same member threated another older member with physical violence ("I'll beat your f@cking ass") for TOUCHING one of three machines he was using. A Crunch Personal Trainer witnessed it as well as numerous members. When Ron and I left, the personal training had informed Carlos as well as Pete the assistant manager. We did as well.

Again, nothing was done and this liability is still an active member in your club and free to threated another member (women, students, elderly) in the gym with no repercussions. So join Crunch Fitness and risk being assaulted by this aggressive and violent member because management AND owners are aware of this issue but choose to do nothing about it.

Misleading costs at sign up and lack of empathy

Unfortunately, my experience with Crunch Fitness Lake Mary has been frustrating, disappointing, and honestly feels deceptive. I signed up because the pricing page clearly showed no fees and a straightforward monthly price, exactly what any customer expects when a business claims to be transparent. However, my actual experience was the complete opposite.

First, I became a victim of bank fraud, which caused my bank to freeze my card. When Crunch attempted to take payment, it was naturally declined. Instead of showing even basic understanding or customer service, they immediately added a late payment fee. When I explained the situation, they didn’t care at all. Their only response was, “that’s our policy.”

I spoke with Kayla, the “manager,” and she was completely dismissive. She showed zero empathy, didn’t acknowledge my situation, and simply repeated “policy” over and over again. No attempt to work with me, no flexibility, just an eagerness to take as much money as possible.

While reviewing my recent bank transactions, I discovered they charged me over $60 for an annual fee, a fee that was never mentioned during signup, and not displayed anywhere on the pricing screen, as my screenshots clearly show. When I questioned this, the manager (Layla) again brushed it off, saying it was “in the contract” and that I “must have missed it.” It’s very convenient how the staff claim there’s no fee when you sign up, yet quietly add a large annual charge months later.

At this point, it was obvious that Crunch Fitness prioritizes squeezing money out of customers over providing an honest, transparent, or respectful experience. I chose to cancel, and once again the manager showed no interest in retaining me as a member. She just made me pay every outstanding charge, including another full month, because “that’s the policy.” No empathy, no customer care, no accountability for their misleading signup process.

This gym hides fees, offers no real support, and cares only about money. I strongly recommend staying away from Crunch Fitness Lake Mary. There are plenty of gyms that treat their members with honesty and respect, this is not one of them.

What made this experience one of the worst and disappointing is that the situation could have been handled so differently. A simple gesture, like acknowledging my bank issue, showing genuine empathy, or even waiving the $15 late fee as a goodwill courtesy, would have gone a long way. It would have made me feel like I was speaking to a human being who cared, not a “policy robot” focused solely on money. That small act alone would have been enough to keep me as a member.

DO NOT RECOMMEND 20/10

I've had the worst experience with this company. Terrible service in helping you cancel a membership. False information on canceling membership. The worst company that tries to squeeze your money out of you when you try to cancel your membership. Management doesn't even try to help you yet corporate calls you to pay your dues when you thought you already canceled your membership. However, when you call back to corporate no one picks up or your local gym management doesn't even try to assist you and wants to brush it off so you keep paying. GO TO ANOTHER GYM. DON'T EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS COMPANY. There are plenty of better gym companies out there that will actually assist you in canceling your membership. Worst gym company by far.
