Gerson was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour lasted around 10 hours and they picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. The water in the taxi was really appreciated too!
The tour was completely tailored to us, and felt very personalized. We never felt rushed and he ordered the sites to ensure they were not too crowded. Gerson answered every question we had with expert knowledge.
I would completely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the sacred valley.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Our driver went above and beyond—not only coordinating with the kind person who found my wallet, but also taking us to an ATM when we realized our hotel didn’t have one. We truly appreciated how much he looked out for us.

Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, making every stop feel special and memorable. We especially appreciated that he never pressured us to shop or purchase anything. Despite having many opportunities to do so, he remained completely independent and simply focused on giving us the best possible experience.

Throughout the day we felt like VIPs—safe, well cared for, never rushed, and never overexerted. The itinerary was perfectly paced, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. We would recommend this tour without hesitation.

Recently we spent 4 days in Cusco area on a tour organized by Cusco Local Friend. It was an exceptional experience from start to finish.
During the planning of the trip Percy was always available to answer questions, provide detailed information, and offer insightful recommendations. He created a personalized itinerary which worked perfectly for us, from day 1 in Cusco, to the tour of the Sacred Valley, then travelling to Machu Picchu and finally to Rainbow Mountain.
All 4 days we were accompanied by Sam, our private guide, and Omar, an excellent driver. Sam was knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about sharing the natural beauty of the area and history of the Quechua people.

My family of 3 found Cusco Local Friends (CLF) during online research. We were going to Peru for a wedding in Arequipa and decided to make an extended vacation out of the trip. Our private trip with CLF included a full day in Sacred Valley, late afternoon followed by early morning entrances to Machu Picchu, horse-back ride up to Humantay Lake, followed by Rainbow Mountain. The team I worked with these arrangements was Hugo primarily and Percy in the background paperwork. I worked extensively with Hugo via WhatsApp, email, and on the phone to plan the tour. Hugo gave great advice on the sequence to make sure we were properly acclimatized to high altitude prior to Humantay and Rainbow portions of the tour. Our guide was Ferdinand, and the driver was Edgar. Everyone in this team was just fantastic. I have the highest recommendation for CLF as tour operator.
We were met at CUZ airport by Hugo and driver Edgar. The minivan was spacious, clean, and comfortable. During the drive into town, Hugo spent a lot of time explaining everything to us, went over the plans, and most importantly gave us great advice on what to eat, what to avoid, and how best to gradually acclimatize. He helped us change USD to PEN at a great rate, provided us with bottles of water before exiting the van as he left us in the capable hands of Edgar to drive us to Ollantaytambo. Hugo had advised us to visit a free site in Ollantaytambo adjacent to the actual ruins. We did that in the later afternoon. Our tour started the next day when we were met by Edgar and guide Ferdinand. Ferdinand spoke perfect English and was a pleasure company for entirety of our tours. He is knowledgeable of the history of all the sites we visited. He had the foresight of bringing us walking sticks for our downhill walks from Humantay Lake, which was a challenging walk for us. He helped in every possible way during the tours. The team even planned our trip schedule to Humantay to account for a road closure, to make sure we had the least amount of waiting time for the road to reopen. I cannot emphasize enough how this was slick planning. Peru is a great country to visit, the people are very friendly and there is so much more to explore. We barely covered a small portion in capable hands of CLF team.
My family thanks Hugo, Ferdinand, Edgar, and Percy for a great, safe, informative introduction to a small portion of Peru. I recommend CLF without any reservations.

PS: I forgot to add that Hugo gave a complimentary ride from hotel to CUZ airport day after our final trip.

This travel company was absolutely amazing!!!! My brother was the one planning everything for our family trip, and Percy was so helpful during the whole planning process, emailing him information, talking to him on the phone, and just going out of his way to make sure we understood everything! He was even there to greet us at the airport and make sure we got where we needed to go! As well as seeing us off at the end of our trip! His staff is absolutely wonderful, too!! Our 2 bus drivers were fabulous and were geniuses at navigating traffic! Ferdinand, our guide for a few days was priceless! He really made sure our trip was amazing! Even with 7 of us, he made everyone feel special and important! And his knowledge of Peru was outstanding! We also were lucky enough to have Jose’ join us during our Waynu Picchu hike (who was also freaking fantastic)! They wanted to make sure that we were taken care of since we had different levels of hikers by providing us with 2 tour guides! Just outstanding service! I would highly recommend this tour company!!!

Cusco Local Friend was the most amazing tour company we have ever used. We traveled with 5 adults and 2 children (12 & 14) and everyone of us loved the experience. WE got a private tour of Machu Picchu & Huaynu Picchu as well as a tour of the sacred valley. For 3 days, Ferdinand and Percy were part of our family. Thank you very much for the incredible adventure and love you showed our family.

How fortunate we were, to find and trust Hugo and Cusco Local Friend‘s, with our tours. It’s always a crapshoot… Sure, you could read everyone else’s reviews, but seriously, reviews are all relative. Let me tell you about my relative review…
We were so fortunate that we got one of the co-owners of the company, Hugo, as our tour guide for the four full day tours, we hired the company
for. We knew, within five
minutes after entering the vehicle that he collected us in, that he was going to be an awesome tour guide. His
English, perfect! His breath of knowledge of all things, Peruvian, and especially Peruvian antiquities, is most comprehensive! And for somebody that loves history, as I do, nothing could make me happier! As I said, we had four full day tours with Hugo. We spent five days in Cusco. We met Hugo for the first time on Day 2. Our first tour was the city tour of Cusco, as well as Sacsayhuaman and a visit to an alpaca farm (which was not planned by the way), because I was looking for a recommendation where to find a locally sourced alpaca pulley.
Our second tour to the rainbow Mountain started out great; beautiful weather on the drive…met a wonderful alpaca herder along the way. And it continued until we literally got to the top of rainbow Mountain, when a snow squall masked those colors that we went to see. Hugo felt so bad about this, that, on the way back to Cusco, he made it a point to stop in a tiny, Quechua Village, two show us an Incan rope bridge that has been continuously rebuilt since the 1400s! And then still on the way back to Cusco another unplanned stop at yet another archaeological site from the ancient Wari culture!
And this is what Cusco Local Friend, certainly Hugo, is all about… They do everything they can to ensure that you got well more than you were anticipating. Our third full day tour, through the sacred valley, (and if you ever visit, Cuzco, you must repeat must, visit the sacred Valley on a full day tour!) Was incredible. From the circles of Morray to the salt ponds of Mara from the ancient archaeological site of Pisac (which rivals Machu Picchu); the stories Hugo tells, and the history he shares, you feel like you’re living in the moment. And to top it all off, our last full day tour, on Machu Picchu was in a word, magical! And if you have any doubt, feel free to visit, my YouTube video channel, Kurts travel videos, and see for yourself! I cannot speak highly enough of Hugo and his company. So if you’re in the market for a private tour guide in Peru, but in particular, the Cusco area, you owe it to your self to look into Cusco local friends, it will be the best money you spent on your visit to Peru
