A delight from beginning to end
From beginning to end, my recent purchase of a sofabed from Darlings of Chelsea was easy-peasy. I had gone to the showroom a couple years ago when I had a different style in mind, but the parcticalities of access led me to the Exmouth sofabed. The fabric selection was great and I quickly received selected samples. Then once I ordered, I was kept advised of progress-- and they even finished ahead of schedule. The delivery team was fast and professional, and I'm absolutely delighted with the quality and look of the new piece. It is a bit 'high' but will settle. I also like the firmness-- no more feeling like you've sunk down into a sofa cushion never to get up. They really are Darlings of Chelsea.

Just Brilliant
I’d looked at dozens of sofa stores and websites before I chose Darlings. After visiting their brilliant showroom we were convinced that they were the furniture people for us. Apart from anything else, they had the style I wanted and couldn’t find anywhere else. The manager, Laura, was more than helpful - an absolute star - and we happily placed our order with her help (and with a fabric which was no longer in their primary list). All went well but the order was ready several weeks before our redecorating was - no problem - Laura sorted it out and our lovely new sofas were delivered when we were ready. Lovely sofas and lovely service. Would recommend any time.

We struggled to find the right colour…
We struggled to find the right colour settee and luckily found Darlings of Chelsea! What a colour selection it is amazing and spoilt for choice.
We dealt with Sonia at Solihull and she was lovely no pushy sales just helpful.
Settees ordered and came when they said they would and the delivery guys were fantastic.
We couldn’t complain about anything 😃

Despised of Chelsea !
Ordered a leather Natuzzi Editions sofa which was delivered on time ….. thats the only part of this review thats any good.
When the delivery arrived, the van reversed into a pergola which supported a mature wisteria near the house, damaging it so badly that it had to be dismantled 🤬
The sofa was unpacked and we noticed that every panel was different in texture and some of the panels were misaligned. When we complained we were informed that “the leather you have chosen is expected to have characteristics like healed scars, veins, insect bites and difference in grain” and misalignments are only to be expected ….. REALLY !
With regard to the dismantled pergola, DoC kept debating what was damaged and what wasn’t and eventually passed it over to the delivery company who, after seeing the photos, estimates for repair etc, messed me around for more than 6 months ….. I eventually gave up 🤬
Bearing in mind this is the guest sofa, in the time we have owned it, we have had to have it restuffed, parts re-sown and additional support as it bowed 🤬
All in all, not a great experience and not a great sofa !

With regard to the leather characteristics, we do always aim to communicate that natural leathers carry unique markings as part of their nature, and we understand this may not have felt adequate at the time.
Regarding the delivery incident, we are truly sorry for the distress this caused and regret that the resolution process with our delivery partners was not smoother.
With eight years of use, it is also natural that any sofa will show wear over time, and we hope that has been taken into consideration. A great deal has changed with us since 2018, and we hope that should you ever choose to shop with us again, you would find a better experience.

Avoid! DO NOT BUY!!!
I ordered a Bromley sofa bed from Darlings of Chelsea in January 2026. What followed has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.
The sofa arrived seven weeks late (after I had to chase repeatedly just to get a response). When it finally arrived, it was faulty: white padding visibly protruding, the metal frame exposed, and the seat cushions misaligned. Nothing like what is shown on their website.
Their own appointed technician from Emira visited and immediately confirmed the faults but was unable to fix them as the issues were beyond a simple repair (plus he had never seen that sofa bed before so totally untrained!). Darlings of Chelsea then promised replacement cushion covers on a call on 26th May, assuring me it was a ‘priority’. Weeks passed with no delivery and no communication.
When replacement covers were eventually dispatched, they first sent me someone else’s covers entirely. When the correct ones finally arrived (nearly a month later so no priority treatment there), they had stitching in the wrong place which I had to unpick myself before I could even fit them. They also did not appear clean. I had been promised a video demonstrating how to fit the covers that was never sent...!
I have spent months chasing a company that makes promises it does not keep, fails to communicate proactively, and delivers a substandard product and service at every turn. I have now submitted a formal complaint to the Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman.
For a sofa bed at this price point, this is completely unacceptable.
Avoid! DO NOT BUY!!!

I am disappointed though that the part the cushions lean against was done in a cheap gray fabric rather than also being of the same leather as the visible parts. Some dreadful finance director has decided to save a couple of quid and make a worse product. I wouldn’t have minded paying a bit more to have leather where it would normally go…

We're sorry to hear you're disappointed with the finish on the back - that's certainly not the feeling we want you to be left with! Having looked into this further, we believe we may know what you're referring to. The area behind where the back cushions sit is intentionally finished in fabric rather than leather - this is actually a carefully considered design feature rather than a cost-saving measure. Leather needs to breathe and covering this area fully would cause it to become uncomfortable over time. The fabric also helps keep the back cushions in place and prevents them from slipping during use.

Quality sofa, great customer service, quick 7 weeks delivery
I couldn’t be happier with my new sofa from Darlings of Chelsea. The quality is exceptional, so much so that I’ve just purchased a second sofa from them.
While they may be slightly more expensive than some other companies, the difference in craftsmanship, comfort, and customer service makes it completely worthwhile. Also the delivery was estimated to be 8-10 weeks and it was actually here in 7 which I was delighted with.
Every time I’ve needed assistance, the team has gone above and beyond to help, often anticipating what I might need and making the whole process effortless. A special thank you to Harriet, who has been incredibly supportive and a pleasure to deal with.
I would highly recommend Darlings of Chelsea to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-made sofa and a genuinely fantastic customer experience. It’s absolutely worth investing a little more for something that is built to last and looks so stunning in your home.

Smooth purchase of an excellent Sofa bed
Very happy with the excellent advice & service from Mohammed Adil at the Birmingham branch of Darlings of Chelsea. We purchased a lovely sofa bed having seen all the options available. Kept very well informed at all stages of the process while waiting for delivery. Delivery was very smooth, 2 men brought the sofa bed upstairs, put it together, demonstrated how to set it up, then took away all the packaging.
