Everything is great just a few minor more cosmetic things which for the price you pay you'd expect better, such as some of the cable machines in the gym not working, the towels being tiny, and the out... See more

I’ve been a member at narbrough David Lloyd for a few years now , and in all honesty the club is frustrating for over a week now in the private spa you pay extra for the cold plunge has been hotter then the swimming pool , the better sauna has been shut for over a week , the steam room has never been good in the celcius spa ,

I contacted the club chat team today to pause my membership after a sudden family bereavement. Fiona Watt was extremely professional, empathetic and helpful while processing my request immediately. Superb customer service. Thanks a lot, Fiona!

Class instructor Lisa Della. We do all of her classes we can attend. We love the west end spa garden. We love the facilities at Millbrook. We would love West End to get the same nets used at Millbrook for the tennis courts. All staff members at both clubs are fantastic and friendly and I mean them all !! We wish there could be an air con system for the indoor courts at West End. When we play at Millbrook it is so much cooler and I am sure I can hear an air ventilation system in the padel court and tennis courts 8 area.
David Lloyd has been a great introduction to our everyday lifestyle and we will never change this. Unless caused by an injury

David Lloyd Farnham is my happy place to escape the daily challenges of caring for my dad who has dementia and is wheelchair-bound and my mother who has Leukaemia and broken vertebrae. I absolutely love spending time there when I’m able, especially the classes with Diana (yoga and Spirit) as she’s such a great, fun instructor and Lucy (body pump) who’s always so happy and supportive. Although it’s not as up to date as it could be with its equipment, the gym has plenty to keep you occupied and you can usually get onto the machines you want without having to wait too long. I really enjoy the spa, which can be very relaxing, though on a weekend you can be fighting for space. But there’s always somewhere to chill and nice you can also get a limited food selection and full service bar in there too. The outdoor pool is great, but in colder months doesn’t always feel up to temperature. Trying to get into the one outdoor jacuzzi is always a challenge. Plenty of classes and a good variety. The food in the restaurant is surprisingly good, and I always love a pash’n’shoot smoothie, though quality depends on who makes it. Things I wish they’d address are - the showers always smell gross, like damp and mould, even though no evidence of either. Faster turnaround on food in the restaurant - you can be waiting 45 minutes for food when it’s busy. Let you have 2 towels if needed instead of just the one - you need one to go in the spa, so if you want a shower after too you’ve got to bring your own. The membership price is high, and from conversations with others it seems it isn’t consistent either - some people are paying more, some less, for the same membership. Parking is a nightmare on busy days - and if you park anywhere other than a designated bay you’ll get a parking ticket. They do have an overflow car park but sometimes it is just impossible to find a space anywhere. However, I’d definitely recommend it, I can spend a whole day there when able, exercising and then chilling in the spa. Staff are great, venue is attractive and well laid out. Facilities are good and lots on offer for adults and kids alike. Nice friendly atmosphere - no gym snobs. Sadly my membership ends this month as I can no longer afford it, but I will definitely miss it, and will definitely rejoin as and when I can!

The men's changing room at Gidea Park DL, with its non-opening windows, has been like an oven during the recent heatwave. None of the air conditioning units are working, one of them has a label on it dated 20/4/23 marked "DEFECT requires deep clean for cool operation." They just will not spend money on maintenance if they can avoid it. It's pointless complaining about defects at the club as they are just ignored. A good example of this are the hand-basin taps that deliver a dribble of water. I have complained about this several times at the club going back three years. They're still dribbling water today.

My son and his girlfriend visited recently using a guest pass I had arranged as a member. They were refused entry at the door without proper explanation. When they went back to complain, the reception staff simply disappeared rather than deal with it. They were eventually let in, but the damage was done.
I called the club personally to ask for an apology. The manager acknowledged what had happened, told me he would find them inside and offer an apology and complimentary spa access. He did neither.
I also use the York and Acton clubs — both are welcoming, professional, and well run. Fulham is a different experience entirely. The manager in particular has been a recurring problem. This episode, and the broken promise that followed, has tested our patience with this branch considerably. It makes what should be a wonderful relaxing treat into a hostile, negative experience.

I have only been a member for a week. I love the atmosphere of the club. Everyone is welcoming, the reception staff are always happy to help you with any queries you may have.
The whole place is clean and tidy and the changing rooms are spotless. There are plenty of activities to get involved in.
Other members are also very friendly and welcoming.

Aqua aerobics is great fun, when you can get a booking. Cover for staff taking holidays is, unfortunately, non existent.
Current instructors are fab. Music is great and lots of energy

There is much to like about the Northwood Branch, the facilities are excellent. There are 2 issues that appear unsolvable, the car park does not cope and using the male changing rooms is generally an uncomfortable experience as it is much to small for the vast number of members.
Guest passes once issued can be withdrawn without notification,I had 3 which I could not use as 10 days before there expiry no availability on their app. There response was politely written but in effect amounted to tough!
I have been a member for 30 years but that is apparently of no consequence.

What a lovely relaxing venue. The outdoor pool area is better than many hotels. The Receptionist, Louise, was super helpful guiding us through the venue.

Really friendly staff and well maintained amenities. All the classes are led by fantastic instructors but I in particular really look forward to the spin class run by John and Pilates class run by Sima - they are fantastic and make the classes fun and effective! The club facilities are a great way to relax, especially the sauna, jacuzzi, steam and cold plunge !

Overall, David Lloyd offers a great concept with excellent facilities and plenty of potential. The range of amenities is impressive, and it has all the ingredients to be a fantastic club.
However, the club is currently showing signs of wear and feels somewhat run down in places. The coffee and social area could also benefit from a wider food and drink offering to make it a more appealing space to relax and work from.
The biggest issue is the air-conditioning. The gym area and changing rooms are often uncomfortably hot, particularly given the gym’s proximity to the swimming pool, which can make workouts less enjoyable. Some of the gym equipment is also looking tired, with visible rust on certain machines.
To be fair, the management team has advised that improvement works are planned for later this summer, including upgrades to the air-conditioning system and replacement or refurbishment of affected gym equipment. These changes should make a significant difference to the overall member experience.
I look forward to seeing the improvements completed and will be happy to update my review once the work has been carried out.
