Everything is great just a few minor more cosmetic things which for the price you pay you'd expect better, such as some of the cable machines in the gym not working, the towels being tiny, and the out... See more

I recently joined David Lloyd and the whole experience has been excellent from start to finish. Ryan was brilliant throughout the process – friendly, knowledgeable, and never pushy. He took the time to answer all my questions and made everything straightforward and stress-free.
The club itself is fantastic, with great facilities, a welcoming atmosphere, and staff who genuinely seem to care about members. Ryan is a real asset to the team and made a great first impression of the club.
Highly recommend David Lloyd to anyone considering joining.

We are Platinum members and visited today. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. There was no parking available, and once inside, there was no seating anywhere.
My partner and I were unable to find a table to sit down and enjoy a smoothie or lunch. Every table was occupied by people working on laptops or taking team calls rather than using the space for dining. Many of the larger tables were being used by just one or two people, leaving no room for customers who wanted to eat or drink.
As paying Platinum members, we expected to be able to enjoy the facilities, but instead we had to leave without being able to sit down. We hope the venue considers introducing designated work areas or time limits on table use so there is enough seating for customers who are there to eat and drink.

DL Gidea Park have fantastic classes with top instructors but for the money we pay, the lounge area and outside area is appalling
Ripped material on uncomfortable furniture and a manky carpet - whole area needs a good refurb
Also the outside eating area leaves a lot to be desired with broken uneven floor tiles and old furniture
On a positive note, all the kitchen and bar staff do a fantastic job and probably don't get the recognition they deserve, they work very hard and always with a smile on their face

I would like to shout out Marion Hopson and Julie Seary (24 June 2026). They were two great yoga classes on consecutive days. They both set the right tone, given how some people are feeling about the weather and lack of sleep (including myself). Well done to you both, and thank you for a positive experience.

Amber Thornton of the membership support team for David Lloyd responded efficiently and with understanding when I requested to pause my membership.
I was relieved and impressed by her assistance . The process felt personal and not just like I was a membership number .
I am grateful and really look forward to being an active member soon .

Since the Birmingham club was built, I've been a member around 5 times. And, on each occasion, I've ended up cancelling for various reasons. I've just done it again. This is meant to be a premium health club, which is why they charge premium prices. Only it isn't premium, its bang average. The biggest problem - the staff have forgotten the importance of their customers. 3 weeks ago, I lost my car keys in the gym. The team there made very little effort to help to locate them (no tannoy announcement, one walkie talkie shout out to team members that went unanswered). When I tackled reception about this 20 minutes later, they said I was being rude and a manager said that "it's not our job to find you car keys". Premium gym???? The staff stand around chatting, never offer advice on how to use the equipment. If you want any advice at all, you have to pay extra for it and that costs well over the odds. Years back, friendly staff would walk the gym floor and offer guidance. They'd bend over backwards for you, as they understood that people that pay £100+ a month for a gym except a higher level of service. Not any more. Equipment is often out of order, and for weeks. The place is often dirty. Seriously, if you want a premium gym go to a local hotel gym instead.

They charge for a premium service but you don’t even get it when looking to join. Made enquiries with my local David Lloyd club, which is Derby, about my wife and I joining. Rang and spoke to reception twice who told me someone would call back, never heard anything. Sent a request through email regarding joining, never heard anything, finally, rang and spoke to reception who advised me that there is no one to help at the club and I would need to chat online to someone, if I wanted to change my membership. Explained again, that I was actually looking to join and no one could help me. So after 5 attempts I have given up, joined another club and saved myself some money. Stupid jumped up company who clearly think they offer something that others clubs don’t have and are prestigious, but can’t even offer a decent service to people looking to join. No doubt a response will come with an excuse, but when you preparing to pay the sort of money they charge you should not have to jump through these hoops. What happened to ringing up and getting someone who introduces themselves and asks how they can help. What are we paying for that’s different. Avoid.

Rebrand and renovation great, tasteful, shame to lose a tennis court when it’s so hard to get one. Smells great.
New gym set up great. Food overpriced.
Parking always an issue

If you're looking for an upgrade or overhaul in your life, this is the investment that you need. An outstanding facility and with helpful and friendly staff taking health and wellness to a new level. We joined the Exeter club after our first impression standard was met well above what we expected thanks to Jack who was superb and able to provide us with everything we needed.

New Shrewsbury club looks all shiny and new however it’s not for families and I’ve been sold a lie, I would avoid if you have kids and you think you are going to get the family experience they sell you.
One of the primary reasons I took out this membership was to be able to visit the outdoor pool during weekdays with my toddler, particularly during the warmer months. However, the timetable, shows it’s constantly adult only time except a weekend 12-3. This wasn’t made clear at point of joining.
On the few occasions when I have been able to use the outdoor pool during the limited warm weather, the process has involved queuing and rushing to secure access. I found this particularly stressful when attending with a toddler and it is far from the relaxed family experience I expected.
The guest passes has been suspended with no communication around this. I was issued with a May/June guest pass but was later informed that these could not be used until August. Again, this was not mentioned when I joined and only came to light when I attended the gym. A member of the reception team subsequently advised that we would still be able to use the passes; however, these are no longer showing in my account and no replacement pass has been issued for this month.
Wrote to them a month ago no reply, sent a follow up this week. I give up!
New members of Shrewsbury have been conned, avoid if you are considering joining.
