This is the second time I have been to the service department at Bolton Kia and things haven’t improved. Staff are disinterested and behave as though they’re doing you a favour. On both occasions th... See more

No care in car delivery post sale
Poor salesman & dealership
Went to view car shown online which had sold but told me had another available soon. Couldn't view as not currently available but told details, age, asked if any damage/scratches etc (3yr old vehicle & told nothing - immaculate). Kept delaying pick up...eventually told it was ready so agreed time & date to collect.
Wasn't ready on collection date but told valeting team would sort now .... viewed vehicle & several small scratches & marks plus old stickers etc but was told these could be polished out / removed during valeting process. Also 1000 extra km than sold as unseen (7000 not 6000).
Car given with none of the marks mentioned removed & unwilling to sort. Car had old CDs in middle compartment, book & half empty bottle under seat plus general dust/dirt. Not sure what valeting they did. Car needed vacuum once got it home just for basic cleaniness.
Also told me they hadn't got something they needed to tax vehicle so I would need to go to post office & do but would cost extra £25. They said they would cover that as their error/delay so contact them its proof of receipt & bank details. Did this same day (as I wanted to ensure taxed & not illegal) & sent details same day to them, chased few times but never received money.
Been getting numerous calls from them recently for 1yr service due. I have no trust in kia dealership so booked in with another kia approved garage using approved kia parts where it was done no problem. They even buffed out few scratches etc theyd noticed (which id told kia about before pick up) for free as said was quick / easy so no need to pay.
It felt like they were keen until I'd paid then had zero interest at all. Tbf car itself it's great with no complaints or major issues (have needed 2 new tyres in past 12months but nil else).
Recommend kia as car manufacturer with no hesitation so far but would never trust the Maidstone dealership again. Usually buy privately and definitely would again in future as had much better handover & cleaniness everytime so far than this dealership.
Kia Brentford
Kia Brentford London what a DISGRACE I bought a sportage GT S LINE, and with it I purchased a service plan all seemed good at the time but not now. My wife phoned Kia Brentford to a book a service this year April and was fine they could it 1th may great I though but NO ON THE 31th may my wife phoned to comfirm the booking she was told they have no knowledge of the booking but not worry we will sort it out , they phoned her back and said no problems it will be picked up in the morning at 8 am it was, my commented to the driver that it would take a time to get to Brentford he no this car is going to Kia colindale which we though was strange but ok no problems with us my wife got a hone call that afternoon saying the car is ready and there is a charge of £227 she said we have a service plan they not with us. So she had to pay the money to get the car back. We then phoned Kia Brentford and asked what was going on and we wanted our money refunded they denied any knowledge of sending the car there and said it was down to us which is total rubbish why would we phone a different garage to do the work. I have been passed from pillar to post with managers there looking into it and we’re get back to you which they DONT probably because they know there in the wrong. Three weeks later they have still not dealt with it and I am still out of pocket. I have tried customer service who have tried to get in touch with there service manager who simply does not respond. I will be forced to contact the ombudsman and then take legal action . AVOID KIA BRENTFORD AT ALL COSTS
Abysmal service from Kia. Will not renew the car with them
The cars are good. Happy with it. The service from Kia is abysmal. A new part was ordered in Dec. An appointment for it to be fitted in Jan. Arrived at the appointment. No part. Now May. Still no part. Kia will not reply to calls. Kia complains refuse to deal with complaints but do not tell you.
Stockton Kia
Excellent trade in price and handover for the purchase process was completed in a timely manner with no issues, the actual sales process was first class and I was made to feel a very valued customer.
Unfortunately a problem arose with the paintwork on my £26000 vehicle I purchased without finance and with a very expensive paint protection warranty and the dealership basically didn’t want to know and offered no help whatsoever apart from advice to contact the original manufacturer. My contract was with Kia Stockton not the original manufacturer! Very dissapointed with the lack of after sales care which will influence my decision making when it comes to upgrade time.
Kia Picanto known Clutch Problem
I bought my Kia Picanto in September 2019 and was happy with it until April 23 3024 when the clutch failed at 14k miles. A new clutch cost me £750. On reading reviews on the Picanto I find this is a known problem that happens mainly on the Sportage and Picanto. I now have no confidence in the car. I have driven for 52 years had a few different cars, mostly from new up to 10 years and never had a clutch go even though I drove far more in those days.
Terrible experience Brindley Kia
Terrible experience.
My partner reserved a car online nice looking x ceed, similar price to others.
Drove down a week later they wanted a £99 deposit online then another £149 for the extra time. After agreeing we traveled down at around 1hr 20min each way. After the car sitting there for a week we saw it and it hadn’t been prepped still in the state it was brought in scratched, dints, rubbish throughout. It was disappointing that the car was of a really poor standard from main brand Kia after a week they could have prepared it. Test drive was a short round the block accompanied.
Didn’t get any time to look round the car and talk about it just straight back in the dealership.
After we went outside it was agreed the car had had a “hard life” at only 25000 or so miles, so agreed it wasn’t right.
Although irritating it hadn’t been prepared and the experience was awkward, we managed to secure a car the same day, similar price and much better quality.
The next part was the most infuriating. Getting the deposit back! The £149 back in a few days which was great but the £99 nope, nowhere to be seen. So now after 4-5 weeks and around 10 phone calls between me and my partner they still didn’t refund the deposit just always met with yes the accounts team should be on it. Thankfully the bank sorted out the refund but no help from Kia. I always respected Kia garages locally for good service and aftercare but to say brindley tried to sell us a car they did very very poorly. Really has damaged the Kia brand in my eyes and I would be careful leaving deposits even if stated as refundable for this garage! Ruined the experience of getting a new car.
Kia Canterbury
Kia Canterbury, awfull after care service, Iv had my Kia sportage less then a year, and twice Iv had a problem with the exhaust filter, they fixed it once, but refused the second time,(unless I paid) as they claimed it’s my fault for not driving my car enough!
Even tho I’m supposed to have a 7 year warranty on my new car! Apperantly it’s not covered!
Kia Brentford
The customer service was terrible now l find it non existent. When l have had problems before at least l was able to get an appointment of sorts.
This time when l tried to book an appointment (23rd April) to solve a minor problem. l was told the earliest that l could bring the car in was 12th September more than 4 months from now by which time my warranty will have expired.
What's happening with Kia? The cars are okay till something goes wrong.
Really poor customer service
Simple issue could have been resolved easily but totally no interest once you have bought the car and paid. really poor customer service they just don't care just want to get rid of you and send you somewhere else, normally back to the dealer even though the issue was nothing to do with them
Edwards Kia Kempsey Worcester
We visited the Edwards Kia showroom in Kempsey, Worcester to enquire about the Motability scheme. The sales rep (middle aged male with glasses) was hostile and condescending. We were put off instantly by his poor service and snooty attitude. Consequently we have just placed an order today for a new Peugeot and won’t be returning to Edwards.
Shocking customer service at Snow Kia Guildford …
Shocking customer service at Snow Kia in Guildford - a real “I don’t care attitude” I’ve now sold my Kia and bought another vehicle. I will never support or drive a Kia again
My 1 year old Niro broke down
My 1 year old Niro broke down, and kia doesn't offer even a diagnosis for 2 and a half month.
no courtesy car, not covering car hire, really unhelpful
I wanted to speak to a manager and kia customer services, didn't even transfer me. I try to think there aren't even any manager.
I have no car for 2 and half month, (at least may I say) no courtesy car, still have to pay for insurance, finance and all.
honestly terrible service, definitely not recommending anyone do buy a kia hybrid.
its great till it work, then you get absolutely no help if there is a problem
Avoid Draycotts Kia, Terrible after sales service!
Terrible after sales service!
Ignore your commitments after bought the car.
Regarding the recent increase in the 5th and 6th-year factory maintenance cost to £499, previously stated that a discounted rate of £357 would be honored until December 31, 2023. I raised this concern before the expiration date, and I am curious about the discrepancy. How does your company uphold its commitments?
A year ago, I reported visible marks on the car body post-delivery. Lewis Bilbie from your sales team assured me that as soon as the original parts arrived, they would be promptly replaced. Unfortunately, this commitment remains unfulfilled almost a year later.
All about having the emails and papers evidence to prove that what I said
Extremely poor after sales service from…
Extremely poor after sales service from multiple Kia dealers. Kia customer services beyond unhelpful and effectively do nothing.
I've never heard so many excuses from a company.
The Kia brand is effectively worthless and means nothing.
Avoid Kia Peterborough
My name is David Tee and my car went into limp mode and was diagnosed as needing a new part to which I agreed £2,700.
When collecting my car I requested having the old part returned to me but was told I would have to pay £250 to have it returned to me which I refused.
I was advised that this was Company policy but I found out that this was a lie as I am entitled to have the part returned to me as my property.
I would never return to nor recommend Kia Peterborough
Kia 7 year comprehensive warranty?
"Kia 7 year comprehensive warranty" as described by the dealership manager to a potential new customer as I waited for my car in the service department.
I had a steering rework done on my 2018 Kia Sportage late last year (2023) due to the steering being notchy,a new type grease was given for the electronic power steering unit and this repaired the concern but I've noticed it starting again but when I took I to my local dealership they advised it required a wheel alignment.
A hunter four wheel laser alignment was done by a tyre specialist and the vehicle still has the notchy steering.
Calling the UK customer service helpline is quite frankly,a waste of time.
I'm advised to take it on a three hour round trip to the next available dealership for a second opinion.
Secondly the seat bases in the front have flattened out and spread to the sides so much that they rub on the centre console when no one is sitting on them, the rubbing noise from the contact when driving is awful!
I've had this car from new, serviced on time,in accordance with warranty requirements but the "comprehensive 7 year warranty" isn't quite as clear cut as claimed.
It's put me off buying another Kia to be honest,I've bought and own a few different brands of cars from the Lloyd dealership group and was in another yesterday looking at purchasing another but it seems the Kia brand name isn't as good as BMW,Land Rover or Ineos.
Oil Consumption
I bought a Kia Sportage a year and a half ago (my 3rd one). The engine on a journey home started making noises and I had to drive the car to the nearest garage to get looked at immediately. At this point I phone Kia myself with regards to the 7 year warranty and I was then informed that the engine had seized up due to lack of oil which I found very hard to believe as I checked it regularly. I was told that the car needed a new engine and so I agreed to get the work done. When the car was "fixed" and returned to me the same problem occurred. It was returned again to the garage but this time I was informed that it was in fact the turbo that was the problem and not the lack of oil in the engine as I . The car was repaired again and it cost me £6000 to get all this work done but still Kia refused to acknowledge the warranty on the car. I am bitterly disappointed at the service I received from Kia and the horrendous amount it has cost to get the car repaired.
I do not understand how they can get away with advertising a 7 year warranty with this car when this is most certainly NOT the case. I would advise anyone thinking of buying a Kia Sportage to think twice about it and look, check and question your car warranty as I was told a whole lot of lies. I will never buy another Kia car and just wondered if anyone has had a similar problem and how it was dealt with. This really is a shocking service and Kia need to overhaul the way they operate in the future because I will most definitely will not be one of their customers. PLEASE TAKE NOTE.
Very helpful staff and despite the wait…
Very helpful staff and despite the wait for the new vehicle was overall happy with customer service. Thanks to Sam and the rest of the Kia Bletchley team.
If I could give them zero stars I…
If I could give them zero stars I would, the cars are fantastic, the dealer network and KIA customer support are a joke. Its ok giving you a 7 year warranty, however as soon as your car fails and is repaired under warranty you must know that you cannot expect your car back in a reasonable time frame, you may not be able to take it to your local dealer and do not expect to be supplied with a car while it is in for repair.
The first major fault I had was the well known cam tensioner issue, both of my local dealers refused to take it in for repair as they did not have space or they did not have a technician capable of doing the job. I ended up having to get the car transported to a garage 40 mins away (at my cost) who dealt with the issue, however no loan car was available.
I now have a blocked DPF filter on a car with 16k mile on and less than 2 years old. it has been fully serviced in accordance with KIA requirements and at a KIA Main dealer. we purchased the car with 6k on the clock / 10 months old. Nearly all of the 10k miles we have done have been motorway miles. At present the garage are unable to tell me when my car will be repaired, this is now a week since I broken down 100 miles from home and had to be transported home by the AA.
Sorry KIA, you really need to look at your customer service, there is room for improvement, it is clear you need to support your dealer network more, stop spending money on fancy showrooms and start investing in good customer service and building brand loyalty. shocking service, I will never buy another KIA.
Kia Brindley Wolverhampton
I took my Kia in for a repair under warranty. There were several faults including a recall. The fault with the battery they were unable to fix as their chargers were not working, which meant booking it again 2 weeks later.
I booked it in again and this time their was a fault with the 12v battery too which was supplied and fitted by Kia 15 months prior.
Having called twice on the day to check progress, I was told they would call me back. No call received, and when I chased it around 430pm I was told they were unable to sort it, and would need to keep the car.
No courtesy car offered or available for weeks, which meant I had to make alternative arrangements to get to work the next day.
My issue is that they couldn't fix it but the total lack of communication with the customer.
I was promised the manager would call me , which he did. He ensured that the following day I would be kept up to date by staff (as he was in meetings all day).
The following day arrived and again, I had to constantly chase for updates.
I was eventually told a new battery (12v) had been ordered and would arrive Thursday.
By this time it was Friday that week and still no update (the car had been with them since Saturday before).
I called at 11am, to be to told the car is on charge and they will update me after 2pm.
430pm still no call, I chased it again to be told by service reception 'its all done, your car is ready'.
Which meant trying to arrange a lift to get to them before they closed at 530pm.
Things get worse, I arrive and collect my keys.
On opening the car door I notice the cap on the door handle missing (one you open to get manual access to the car when the battery is flat).
I walked back in to reception to be told by the manager '100% it was not on the vehicle when I dropped it off the technician had notified them'. Which I found strange as I remember it was on the car the day I dropped it off. The manager then proceeded to advise me that they could order a new one for around £100. They wouldn't charge for fitting (a simple case of clipping it back on). I advised him I would check at home first.
I returned back to my car, to find the missing part on my back seat.
So it was with the vehicle all along.
Why lie to me? Why try to sell me a new one? If you had the part all along why didn't your techs clip it back on?
The rubber cap on one end of the fast charger had been broken off (it was attached to the lead when I dropped it off and had been for the last 2 years since I had the car) the charger lead and left in the passenger door well along with the windscreen wiper and the dash cam unclipped and left on the seat.
A bit miffed I returned back to reception where the whole team were gathered as they were closing to let them know I had found the part and show the damaged rubber cap and walked out.
It's all fine Kia offering 7 year warranty, but it takes weeks to get a car booked in, they have no courtesy cars ever available and this particular garage lack any ability to communicate with the customer to provide updates by phone, email or SMS.
On top of that to be to lied to about the missing part, offered to sell me another one I didn't need and also damaging the charger lead too left me genuinely pi***d off.
The only positive, it's made my mind up to sell my Kia and never buying one again.
