This is the second time I have been to the service department at Bolton Kia and things haven’t improved. Staff are disinterested and behave as though they’re doing you a favour. On both occasions th... See more

7 Year Warranty is a joke. You'll wait two months for them to fix any repairs.
We have to wait !! two months!! for our car repair, despite being unable to take our special needs son to his appointments. The engine management light came on over six weeks ago. The car is yet to be repaired and won't be until the end of February. Despite the parts arriving ten days ago.
We have a special needs son with profound non-verbal autism and complex medical needs. He refuses to get into the car because of the engine light and becomes physically aggressive. We have cuts all over our faces. We are unable to take him to any of his appointments.
I called both Boongate and explained our situation. The manager was very condescending. Her solution was to drop our car at the garage today, leave it there for an unspecified time frame, possibly weeks and hope a cancellation comes up. Meanwhile, we'd be left without a car entirely. Kia HQ refused to offer a courtesy car as it doesn't fall within their 'criteria'.
This is genuinely the worst customer service we have experienced.
EV6 stolen and repeated alarm faults
Keys safely stored upstairs in a faraday box . Our cctv shows the thief approach my car with iPad sized box , unlocked car without touching it , got in and drove off ,5 mins later he had removed my phone connection so it couldn’t be tracked . Loved the car ( apart from the 3 attempts by Kia to fix ( and fail ) false alarm fault. Brilliant car … but won’t get another . They need to install keypad starting . Confusion as to when servicing required , also service is overpriced for a mainly visual check up .
Do not buy a kia
Theres problem with steering that have been raised as a known issue with kia's not interested want to charge a fortune for a fault on there side, customer service is poor get no where if there going to make cars with faults at least fix the issue terrible
Refund required.
My 6 month old Kia had broken down on the 19th December and nearly 2 months on I am still without the car with no idea of when i will get it back.
I have requested help and support from the dealership but was told to call Kia customer service who did an internal review and i'm still waiting for a response.
I have requested a full refund and compensation for,
1 - Purchasing a car that was told could have potentially set on fire when it was recovered.
2 - Paying for a car i don't have.
3 - Being passed around from company to company and department to department and still continuously chasing.
4 - With having a young family the worry of, will the car have another major issue when returned.
5 - No help or support in getting the vehicle sent to the dealership for repairs.
6 - The undue stress and inconvenience that this has caused.
I was told by the sales manager that i only have 30 days from the purchase to return the vehicle.
The customer service and communication has been poor and the dealership has been dismissive. I bought a new car with a 7 year warranty to prevent issues arising but the process has been a disaster.
VERY POOR AFTER SALES SERVICE
My husband bought a new Kia from a dealership in North London as our dear mayor, Mr Khan, decided his 2015 diesel Honda was too polluting (it wasn't).
I must emphasise that they are very keen for you to buy a new Kia from them but the after sales servoce, or lack of it, is abysmal. Having to wait 3 months to book in a service is just not good enough. It is only after having bought the car that you realise how bad the service is. Would NEVER buy a Kia.
I would give 0 stars if I could... Terrible Customer Service
My Kia Niro broke down over the bitter cold weeks at the start of January 2024, and what surprised me was how little the 7 year warranty do for customers.
As of the 5th of February, I still don't have my car back and have no end in sight. Having to pay for an on-going courtesy car as well, which doesn't help with the situation at all... In the beginning, I thought I was lucky enough to find a Kia service garage not too far way from home, and had available space within 2 weeks from breakdown to repairing my car. Unfortunately, after official diagnostics, more problems were detected, but was told by the service team that all the parts are available to order. More than a week has gone by and I'm only to find out from Kia that they don't have a delivery estimate... sounds to me is on back order but they insisted that it isn't the case.
Worst of all, after all of this, you'd think their 7 year warranty would at least bring their customer some reassurance. The truth is far from it. Furthermore, they found every possible way to not take any responsibility, and I'm left to no choice but to pay for the entire repair once it is completed.
I will end this review with this:
Kia drives well when it is working, but I would strongly not recommend anyone buying a Kia unless you're fine with terrible customer service and poor warranty.
Mr SARFARAZ HAMOON in colindale Edgware…
Mr SARFARAZ HAMOON in colindale Edgware ,I want to say thank you very much for helping me honestly, even he said what colour is better for you and he advised me how to get best offer from the KIA company. After that when I said to my friends and colleagues, all of them confirm that.
I 100% recommended.
My experience is with Flear and Thomson…
My experience is with Flear and Thomson Kia in Dunfermline. I am not saying that this is a consistent experience across all Kia dealerships.
My poor experiences have spanned over 2 years, from MOT, services and repairs.
Firstly when my MOT was due I called up to get my car in at Kia and was told they had no available spaces for 3 months. Therefore I had to go elsewhere. Surely they would like to look after their customers rather than not.
Next followed a repair needed for the door strap as it snapped in the high winds. Again called up and this time was told that there would be a 4 month wait to get the car booked in as they were incredibly busy. Another local garage had this job done and repaired within 48 hours, not getting the part from Kia.
The final issue, only a matter of days ago, was to my gearbox. My car is just out of warranty and the gear cables have gone. Called up my reliable Kia garage and lo and behold for a job of this size they could not offer me anything before April 2024. Now given the car cannot be driven they did not seem concerned nor offering any help whatsoever and wished my luck in finding a garage that could do the repair.
All this garage seems to do is to look at diaries and not think about the customer at the end of the phone.
Disappointing as I have thoroughly enjoyed driving the driving experience the Sportage has provided me with over the years.
Kia Bolton where after sales care is a dirty word
Once again my Kia Sportage has had to come back home on the back of a low loader due to a mechanical failure and once again Bolton Kia can't look at the vehicle for 4-6 weeks because they are busy. To be told by this service manager that for an extra few £s per month my car insurance could provide a courtesy car, because cars do breakdown is not only a damning reflection on Kia but shows the arrogance of the man who explained that Kia are a victim of their own success. Complete lack of customer service from a franchise / dealership that only cares about punting out cars and has no interest in after sales care. as other reviewers have said the 7 year warranty isn't worth the paper it is written on if dealerships aren't set up to deal with repairs. This is my last Kia and it is all down to the lack of service of the Bolton garage
Excellent personal service
Excellent personal friendly efficient service from Startin Kia Warwick [yes, Startin, not Starting]. Joe Chan in Customer Service was first class. Well done.
7 Year Warranty? Appalling Service.
Wife's car is less than two years old and has developed a minor fault; I believe it is a warranty issue but even though minor the car will not pass a MOT (windscreen wash failure) . Have contacted just about every Kia dealer within 50 miles and the BEST I can get is a booking for "diagnostics" in 3 weeks. And how long will I have to wait for parts and repair after that? What is the point of a 7 year warranty when you can't get problems fixed? Wife needs her car, no possibility of courtesy vehicle (IF one is available) until the "diagnostics" (which involves 30 minutes to remove 4 screws, 1 panel and going "yes, the water line is split" and that's where the screenwash is coming from) confirm it is a warranty issue.
If Kia can't improve the service provided by their dealers, the 7 year warranty is a waste of paper and there is no point in buying a Kia. I certainly won't be buying another if I keep seeing the AWFUL warranty and service reviews.
Group 1 Kia Coulsdon
Group 1 Kia Coulsdon. Over the past couple of years I have had a few problems with the Coulsdon branch. Was having problems last week. I needed my car urgently on Friday and at 5.00 pm on Thursday they said I needed a new battery. As I was desperate I agreed for them to supply and fit for the cost of nearly £300.00. It seemed excessive but I had no choice. When I picked the car up they said I needed glo plugs and the service manager would come and pick the car up as yet I am still waiting. Have tried calling and they said the service manager had rang me but I don’t have any missed calls from him.
Kia Romford
Kia Romford. I was sold/upgraded a car by one of the keen car sales people, he assured me that I had a 2 year free service plan as advertised on the website too.
A year later and a service is due with a fat bill, to which the sales person has been sacked and I quote from the lady on the phone "let's say he was asked to leave because of his way of working".
I was also assured 2 days prior to the appointment of service that this was correct and she could see it on her system! Until I turn up on the day!
The sales Manager Fiez on the phone basically admitted that it seems I have been miss-sold the car as I've been told one thing and no paper work to back it up - so I'm stuck at a catch 22.
The best the could do was take some money off the service!
Poor service, miss sold products and no consideration or responsibility taken by the team at Romford! This is my 5th year with Kia, I won't be going back as soon as this contract is up!
Lost a long term loyal customer?
A great car and a good dealer
We have owned an eNiro First Edition since 2020, driving around 60000 miles in it. A fantastic car. Certain occasional gremlins, along with a patchy EV service infrastructure learning curve, and now more recent supply chain fragilities have been an interesting and informative journey. We were lucky enough to have a small number of local dealerships to help educate us in how best to deal with these gremlins. A very recent intermittent fault (where the car started to think it was still connected to the EV charger whilst it was actually travelling on the motorway and elsewhere) resulted in a potentially very protracted repair process (under the excellent 7 year warranty). With advice from a very helpful and knowledgeable Kia mechanic, we were able to continue using the car. Our trips to the dealers for assistance at this most recent time exposed us to the later facelift model of our car, and thanks to an excellent salesman called Chris at Kia Stirling Flear and Thomson, we have as of yesterday taken possession of a 1 year old Niro EV 4. We are very impressed with the experience of buying from Kia Stirling and would recommend them wholeheartedly. We look forward to the rapidly developing UK EV service and repair capability for all manufacturers finally getting to where it needs to be.
I’m mortified!
I’m mortified!
I bought a car from a dealership last year, and over the past few months we’ve had issues with the paint work peeling and yellowing. After a painful few months, they finally, accepted to respray the car, to rectify the problem.
I booked the car in, for Monday, they wanted me to collect late Tuesday night, thank goodness I didn’t! I collected Wednesday morning and asked to take a look.
The paintwork looks worse than when it went in.
I don’t really need to go into detail, the pictures will tell the story themselves. What a shame I can’t add any!
I asked why it wasn’t blended in, to be told this will cost more money, I thought blending new paintwork in was a given?
Just take a look for yourselves. The over spray is everywhere, it’s been scratched and scuffed whilst it was in there, I was advised, this may have been the gazebo that was leaning against it while it was still wet?
This shows lack of professional paintwork and it’s been done outside in what I imagine a pop up tent!
They have absolutely destroyed the car.
Known faults
Cars are being sold with known manufacturers faults and the earliest you can get booked in to the dealership is 4 weeks and at least 6 weeks if you require a courtesy car.
After sales service is shocking and dealerships seem unable to cope with the workload.
KIA UK are unwilling to help, even though it is a manufacturer’s fault.
Nice cars but no service when they go wrong.
I own a 2017 Kia Sportage ISG1
I own a 2017 Kia Sportage ISG1.
My ignition barrel failed about 2 months ago now and my car has stood still in my local garage ever since.
Reason: shortage of parts in the UK, Kia waiting for parts to arrive from abroad.
Totally unacceptable, the experience has been so stressful being without my vehicle especially being self employed. I am literally earning nothing without my vehicle.
No mention of a courtesy vehicle from Kia, typical unhelpful customer care to be honest.
Will I keep the vehicle after repair? Probably not as I can not go through this again.
Would I recommend to a friend? with my experience of Kia definitely not.
I have been made aware by Kia of a parts shortage but why should I have to take the stress and problems Kia have put on myself.
Another new Kia
All the staff at Kia Bury are always friendly, approachable and knowledgeable! They never put pressure on you to buy. Thank you Daniel Garner for looking after myself and my husband, making sure our 5th Kia purchase went perfectly smooth. Loving everything about the xceed
AVOID - shocking service, warranty worth NOTHING
The purchase of my Kia Stinger GTS was heavily influenced by Kia's 7-year warranty and promise of good customer service.
This is now the second time I needed warranty support and once again Kia let me down. The first time, my sun roof developed the dreaded creak that is mentioned in many forums - Kia did not consider this an issue and charged me a £114 diagnostic fee.
Now, the car no longer turns on, yet both local Kia dealerships have no available appointments for over 1 month - my car, WHICH IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, is now sitting on the driveway for over a month.,
I contacted KIA UK and they washed off their hands of their warranty responsibility, pointing at the dealerships, busy Christmas etc etc. Ultimately, Kia need to ensure that their service partners are suitably resourced to uphold their warranty obligations and they clearly do not seem to care.
AVOID - this is my first and last Kia.
Shocking service - I'm not impressed
I just bought a Kia Sportage second-hand and on day 3 the engine started cutting out when slowing down to a stop (with clutch in). I spoke to the dealership and they want to charge me £130 to perform a test - the car is 3 years old and still within the 7 year warranty. I've agreed to pay, but the earliest they can book me in is mid January. Shocking service - I'm not impressed
