The worst bank that I dealt with

The worst bank that I dealt with,
I transferred my salary beginning of may to have some top up , after providing all documents requested by bank the loan approved, then documents are signed and cheque was ready on 21st of may to handover to my previous bank , I keep asking and following up and I always was told that everything is done then after few days representatives called to sign another document which they miss and I did , on 5th of June after my daily follow and visiting brunch the cheque was issued and we visited my previous bank to sign documents and deposit the cheque the my account number was wrong where I gave to wait there until this went back for correction, this is done and when I ask the top up I was told that when you salary reflect in our bank the amount will be released and deposit to your account, I waited until salary reflected and I followed up but until today no response and iam hanged I can’t pay my rent my cards my Dewa my other commitments and the money that I borrowed due to this poor service,
This bank should close and not deal financially due to the lack of knowledge, wrong promises misleading customer,
I don’t recommend to anyone and will be raising a case to get refunded for all what I have paid . It’s a shame of this bank .

One of the worst customer service

One of the worst customer service. There's no direct calling number. Sent them email weeks ago but they're playing around. The customer service is very rude. They hung up while explaining If the issue to them. If u ever get any concerns they'll never assist you on that. Really a disappointment.

Bank that is stuck in the past

It feels like the bank is stuck in the past. App is like it hasn't been updated since 2010s, the branches processes takes a long time.

I once requested a bank liability letter (for salary transfer), it took a few days and a few bank visits just for the piece of paper. The reason is as usual, "system down."

They did a few rebranding, such as 'alt online' or 'Dubai Islamic' (removing the 'Bank' from the name). But these are just rebrands and color scheme changes. The apps are still outdated compared to other banks with modern applications.

Many of the transactions that you'd be able to do in the app in other banks requires you to visit DIB's branch.

It is still one of the big banks, if you don't care about the online banking at all, maybe it is fine. Credit card options are mediocre even with the new Shams cards.

Feel Unwelcome at the branch

Dear DIB Customer Care,

I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment following a recent and unpleasant experience at your Business Village branch. I traveled nearly 40 kilometers from Jebel Ali to Deira solely to make a partial payment toward my home loan — only to be turned away because I did not carry the physical copy of my Emirates ID.

While I fully understand the importance of identity verification, I had a valid electronic copy of my Emirates ID on hand, which could have been easily verified through standard procedures. Refusing service over such a technicality, despite my willingness and intent to pay, shows a complete lack of flexibility and customer focus.

This kind of rigid and outdated policy is completely unacceptable in 2025. Every other major institution in the UAE accepts digital IDs — why is DIB still stuck in the past? You are making it unnecessarily difficult for customers to do something as basic as repay a loan.

Adding to the frustration is the highly restrictive nature of your branch operations — limited to 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and closed on Saturdays. This is not customer-friendly and is especially inconvenient for working professionals. I had to take personal leave from work to make this trip, only for it to be completely wasted.

It is even more shocking that DIB offers no online facility for partial home loan payments. In an age where digital banking is the norm, your systems appear unnecessarily outdated and rigid, making it harder for customers who are simply trying to meet their financial obligations.

As a loyal customer actively working to repay my loan, I expected to be treated with at least basic consideration. Instead, I left the branch feeling dismissed and unwelcome.

I strongly urge DIB to:

Immediately allow electronic Emirates ID for transactions, as is common practice across the UAE.

Implement online capabilities for making home loan payments — both full and partial.

Reevaluate your branch hours and service model to better serve working individuals.

I hope this complaint is treated with the seriousness it deserves. If this is how DIB treats paying customers, it reflects very poorly on the bank’s commitment to service and customer satisfaction.

Worst bank experience in my life

Worst bank experience in my life, and had gone through some already. Rude personnel, endless waiting times at the branch, useless phone and online banking and discrimination in the waiting times based on place of origin. Run away from it, if you have to pay extra for a different bank just do it.

My favorite banc

My favorite banc , the service is good , staff very helpful and spacially Nizar from DIB Ittihad mall branch , he was so helpful, very professional, he helped me to resolve an issue before only 2 hours of my flight !
He deserves 5 stars review 👌🙏

Worst bank ever!!

Worst bank ever!!! Today, i spent my lunch break in the Etihad bank branch to collect the letter i requested. I reached to the bank before 1 pm and the number in customer service is not moving at all. Suddenly, one of the Asst. Manager approached people sitting and waiting for their number to be called. In my mind maybe he was trying to help to finish us all since we are only 4 (3 men and me a lady) sitting in that area, thinking some of them might go for a break. Once he finished approaching those 2 men beside me he stopped approaching anyone. My point is, am the only lady there and i thought this country priority is women but from this Manager it looks like i don’t exist at all. So i spent 2 hours out from my office for nothing!!! Because when my turn came, it’s not possible to collect from them without requesting from the other branch where i requested. And to speak to their operator also and it took me 15 minutes on call without answer. So, before I’ll get kick from my office, i left😡😡😡

It's a scam

They closed my card while it still had a positive balance and refused to return my money. They owe me 1,242 AED. Zero customer service, zero professionalism. I am opening a case against them—avoid this company at all costs!

Its very disgusting happen to us now this DIB we have loan and they will not deduct for how many months they not deduct and when deduct its come back again in our account..and when we inform them to why not they are not deducting our loan on our salary they dont have action..and today they will deduct for 3 months all our salary they will get..and we call in DIB bank we explaine everything and they give us this costumer service collector number but its useless almost 1 hour we call but no one can answer its very unfair and unprofessional should be to communicate to your client DIB because we transfer in your bank because we have trust but this experience you will give us its very unprofessional and disgusting😡because you not left in our accout even 1 derham now 1 month we suffering how can we pay our room and how can we go our work where did we get money to use our transportation for 1 month how can we survive now😡😡even bottle of water we cannot buy because you get all our salary😡
