Direct windows have just fitted some windows and a front door coming back to fit patio door later on .what a fantastic service from going into the preston showroom to the installation. Direct windows called at our house to measure up and give a price very helpful and polite not pushing for a sale with the promises of massive discounts and rubbish like some do ..then the surveyor called and was very professional double checking everything .two filters came and fitted the windows and doors the quilty of the products are on another level 👌. The fitters where so professional and respectful all ways explained what was happening and true tradesmen the standard of installation was first class .Had windows fitted in the past not patch on this company. I am currently in dispute with this company 2026 who I have employed in May 2025 to install conservatory insulation in my home to a conservatory purchased from them in 2015, unfortunately everything has not gone well, I will update my review on conclusion of the outcome. At this time I would not recommend them. It is not the first issue I have encountered over the years I have been a loyal customer recommending them due to the way they dealt with those previous issues, at this time that is not the case unfortunately.

I had a genuinely excellent experience dealing with this company from start to finish. The quotation process was smooth, efficient, and clearly well-organised, making everything straightforward from the outset. The surveyor was particularly helpful, taking the time to walk me through several different options and explaining each one in detail so I could make an informed decision. I really appreciated that there was absolutely no pressure to commit at any stage, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and customer focused.

The manufacturing process for the door and window was impressively quick, taking only three weeks, which exceeded my expectations in terms of turnaround time. Communication throughout this period was clear and reassuring, so I always felt informed about the progress of my order.

On the day of installation, the fitter, Jordan, arrived promptly at 07:45 and respectfully waited until the agreed 8am start time before beginning work. This level of professionalism set the tone for the rest of the day. Jordan was friendly, polite, and very courteous, and he took the time to clearly explain what he would be doing before getting started, which I found very reassuring.

He worked diligently and continuously throughout the day, showing real attention to detail and a strong work ethic. Despite the scale of the job, he kept the work area clean and tidy at all times, which I really appreciated. The quality of the workmanship was excellent, and everything was completed to a very high standard.

Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the entire experience and the finished result. Thank you for delivering such a professional service and an outstanding job—I would highly recommend this company to others.

I was recommended DirectWindows by a family member who had previously had a front door fitted and was very pleased with the result. Their experience was described as quick, straightforward, and reasonably priced.

Unfortunately, my experience was quite the opposite. I was initially quoted a timeframe of 8–12 weeks; however, the entire process ultimately took just over a year, with numerous issues arising along the way.

The original plan involved installing a keyhole-style door, which required minor adjustments to the brickwork at an additional cost. This work was carried out while I was at work, and upon returning home, I discovered that the design had been changed entirely without my knowledge or consent. This then required a further survey.

At the time, I received little to no apology and was told, “It’s actually turned out better for you,” which overlooked the fact that the agreed design had not been followed. I felt pressured into accepting a new design, as rectifying the building work in my opinion, would have been costly for the company. The revised design was a full archway rather than the original keyhole style.

Over the course of the year, I submitted two complaints via the company’s website, both of which went unanswered until much later, suggesting that this communication channel is either unmonitored or ineffective.

In total, I had five surveys booked, along with one minor dimensional change handled via email. There was also ongoing confusion regarding whether the door was a “true arch” or not. Additionally, three appointments were cancelled on the morning they were due to take place. With more notice, I could have avoided taking unnecessary annual leave.

The door itself had to be manufactured twice, as the first was significantly oversized. While the second door did fit, the installation was substandard, particularly the trim, which required a return visit to rectify following another complaint.

Despite these issues, I was initially expected to pay the full price. After raising further concerns, I was offered a minimal 10% discount, which effectively meant I would still be contributing towards the cost of the incorrect building work. Following a prolonged exchange of emails, I felt that my warranty was being used as leverage—leaving me with the choice of either accepting the additional costs or forfeiting warranty coverage.

I made several requests to speak with a manager, which were not acknowledged until payment was being pursued. At that stage, I finally received a response from a senior member of staff regarding the complaint I had submitted approximately six months earlier.

Ultimately, I chose to proceed without the warranty, as the company had already failed to honour the original signed agreement, which did not give me confidence in any future commitments.

A few weeks after installation, I am now experiencing water ingress beneath the glass panels during even light rainfall. The letterbox is also not watertight, allowing rain to enter and pool on the floor. Having since read other reviews, it appears this may be a recurring issue that has not been resolved.

Overall, while the door was eventually installed, my experience involved long delays, repeated surveys, and poor communication, along with concerns about the original design—which was agreed and signed as a contract—not being followed.

With this in mind I’d encourage anyone considering this company to carefully weigh up their options and be aware that agreements may not always be adhered to, and to make sure all details, timelines, and expectations are clearly confirmed in advance to help avoid similar issues.

After having to write a negative review as I had problems with my new door these have now been corrected by Lee a great workman and very pleasant. I’ve been on holiday so fingers crossed when I’ve been away all has been ok. I did only give 4 stars as it wasn’t till Georgia got involved the job was completed.

Brilliant . Lee & Chris did a Amazing job. Talked me through everything before starting work. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Once work completed even cleaned up . Highly recommended

Very pleased with the service we experienced.
The surveyor was excellent he passed on a lot of good advice which we took onboard,we ended up with a fantastic door which we are delighted with.

Direct Windows were brilliant as a company, helpful from start to finish. The fitters Jordan & Liam who came to fit our aluminum windows could not have been more professional and helpful. They even did some re-pointing of a few bricks that came loose under one of the windows to a high standard and fixed an issue we had with our door threshold, which was left from the old door. I would highly recommend them as fitters and Direct Windows as a company. Paul

I don't usually leave reviews but my experience with Direct Windows definitely deserves one. They have been fantastic from day one. On entering the showroom to making my purchase in Preston, there wasnt one moment where the sales team were moidering or putting the hard sell on me.
Nothing turns me away quicker but dealing with both guys in there was easy, straightforward and stress free. I even walked out the a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine.
I also have to give a big shout out to the instillation team. I think they were called James and Jan and they were absolutely amazing. A real pleasure to deal with and a comedy duo in the making. A real credit to the company. In fact, everyone I dealt with, from the phone staff and sales team to the instillation crew have been.

From meeting Tom at the showroom, to having the composite front door fitted by Ian, we are very pleased with Direct Windows. We explained to Tom what we wanted and he made sure he got all the details correct. The fitting of the front door by Ian is excellent, the fit and finish are top notch, we are very pleased with the new door, we would definitely recommend Direct Windows.

From ordering the door and arched frame at the Blackpool showroom to the surveyor arriving to measure for the same we were pleased with Direct Window Co. The day finally arrived to having the same fitted and we were not disappointed. Everything ran so smoothly with the removal of the old door and frame and the installation of the new. We are really pleased with the quality, service and experience from Direct Window Co. We will return.

Thoroughly recommend Direct Windows for the installation of out new front door. The whole process from obtaining a quote to the installing of the door was handled professionally and within timescales that suited me. Staff are very knowledgeable.

Our door fit was difficult due to poor workmanship from our builder but Wes worked really hard to ensure it fitted well and looks perfect.
