Well done direct windows - top service

Contract Number 70555. Neil came to fit a new roof on our conservatory. He made contact with us directly and provided advice and guidance prior to arriving at our house (colours and facias). His work area was clean and tidy at the start and end of every day. Highly recommended and a credit to Direct Windows. Job well done.

New Front Door

pleased with the service and the look of the new door. It arrived with the incorrect lock fitting, should have had a thumbturn lock on the inside, however this was promptly resolved. Contract 70510

Front door installation today.

Front door installation today.
Our fitters James and Alan were courteous throughout the work. They were extremely clean and tidy and the door works properly. The door itself looks great and has a high finish around the seals and frame. I would recommend Direct Windows.

From the reviews for Direct Windows Blackpool on here, they are either 5 starts or 1 star so you either love them or hate them. I personally hate them.

We had a new door fitted in our old house in 2018 and it took Direct Windows over year to get it sorted and right after the mess they made fitting the door initially (yes I know they use contractors for fitting) and the manufacturing faults that appeared shortly after (they can't blame anyone else for that) and I liaised with Pauline Duff who was like a revolving door, sometimes she was really nice, other times she was extremely rude and unhelpful. They EVENTUALLY got it right and I vowed I would never buy from them again.

We moved into a new property and it needed the front and back door to be replaced and unfortunately the housebuilder used Direct Windows to manufacture them. It took them absolutely ages (at least 3 months) and when the doors were ready and they were picked up, the front door side window was smashed, the small window in the front of the door had black marks in the glass and the back door glass was full of deep scratches. I agreed to have them fit in the meantime and was assured that the replacement glass would follow in the next week or so. This was in June and they have only just completed the replacement pieces and we are having them fitted tomorrow, so it took them nearly 4 MONTHS to make a 3 replacement pieces of glass - DISGUSTING. I got the impression from the house builder that was liaising with Direct Windows that they were trying every trick in the book not to have to make the replacement glass.

So in summary, after dealing with Direct Windows Blackpool twice and having the most awful experiences, I would not recommend them to anyone.

Jen. Ouch. ‘Hate us’ and we're disgusting. Well, if our reviews are either 5 stars or 1 star, we’re clearly not very good at sitting on the fence! We’re genuinely sorry that your experiences with us have fallen into the ‘hate them’ side of the scale rather than the ‘love them’. That’s never the outcome we want, and it’s disappointing to read that we let you down with marked glass units.
We have experienced some delays with glass, and inconsistent communication are definitely not the standards we aim for; your feedback has been shared with our team so we can keep improving. We know words don’t undo your frustration, but we do thank you for taking the time to let us know where we need to do better.
Hopefully, in the future, we can work our way back onto the ‘love them’ list. Until then, we wish you all the best in your new home.

Had a new french door handle, plates and bracket fitted on Friday, 5 star service, from the appointment booking with Maddy to the guy who carried out the work, thank you for such a professional service, will definitely recommend your company and a family member has already said they will book in

Replacement kitchen door & Windows

Had a replacement kitchen door and window fitted along with several double glazed panes which had blown. The fitter attended exactly when we expected and did a super tidy job. The price was good and the quality of the products is fine.

from visiting showroom to finish was first class, had 3 windows and window sill put in and front and back doors all done within the day hardly any noise, all was clean and very tidy, all debris old doors & windows taken away, perfect with my dogs, friendly reliable and very quick on this occasion we cannot fault, keep it up

We chose direct windows to install our…

We chose direct windows to install our new front door sales rep did good job.
We decided to use this company as they installed ever window in our house to perfection and in record time.
However,when the door was installed a few years later I noticed it wasn't sitting flush to the frame.
A s we were initially happy with the company I didn't make a fuss but eventually we had trouble shutting and locking the door.
When I rang up I was informed I would be charged to have someone come out and solve the problem. After negotiation a fitter did turn up and realised it hadn't been fitted correctly I was also informed that the company had young lads working with fitters for a couple of weeks then going on their own to install.
This was rhe case with our new door it has never been correct and I would never recommend this company to anyone I am currently getting an independent company out to assess the shoddy work and to put right I don't mind paying call out charges had the door been fitted correctly in the first place nearly 4 thousand pounds for a door that wasn't fitted correctly is absolutely disgusting will never use this company again

Quality product at a good price and great service

Excellent service from the sales rep. The door we chose, we felt we got at a good price, so went ahead. The door got fitted much sooner than we expected. Great service from the door fitter, very professional job and took the old door away too. I would recommend Direct Windows.

A huge mistake choosing Direct Windows

We placed an order with this company for glazing for our extension and repeatedly checked the order spec with the sales person before we paid our deposit. We checked it again when the measurements were taken, and double checked all the paperwork to ensure it was accurate. The colour was confirmed multiple times via email, in person, and on the paperwork. A week before our expected installation, we chased the order to check on the progress. To our shock, we were told direct windows could not fulfil the order. We were taken aback - it had taken nearly 5 weeks to find this out, and it would have been longer had we not chased it. This apparent ‘human error’ from direct windows has not only wasted our time, but more importantly it has caused significant problems for our building project as we’ve had to delay the next stages whilst we source alternatives. It should be a basic requirement for a company to know their products and check orders when they are placed but apparently that is too much to ask. To make matters worse, we had to repeatedly chase them to get our deposit back. It was a huge mistake choosing Direct Windows and one we won’t make again.
The reply from Direct Windows below is really telling - if they know their product catalogue is subject to constant variation then they should make customers aware of that and check orders when they are placed to make sure they can fulfil them. Had they done that, it would have avoided our issue entirely. And, although the timeframes are beside the point of our complaint, the sales person never stated that this could take longer or that it was an estimate (despite me pressing him on the timeframe he quoted) nor that ‘black’ is a bespoke colour. It seems they just tell customers anything to get the sale, and then the excuses start once you’ve paid your money. And to not compensate us in any way for the significant impact their error has had on us really demonstrates the poor company that they are. We are glad that we found this out now before spending a large amount with them.
** Update **
Since writing this review Direct Windows have amended their reply below to offer a free upgrade to bifolding doors. It’s interesting that this offer was not forthcoming 3 weeks ago when we originally complained and were met with complete indifference. Unsurprisingly it has only arisen since I wrote my Trustpilot review.

We apologise for the error in your order process, we are a large company who manufacture multiple products in a large variety of colours, unfortunately on this occasion, the colour you requested wasn’t available in the particular product. This can happen due to the vast number of new colours that are continually being brought to market. Due to the nature of patio doors (sliding, causing friction) the sprayed product would not be suitable. We are sorry you weren’t notified sooner

It is also worth noting that for bespoke colours, do carry a longer lead time, a lot longer than usual; normally the process would have been quicker. We do not offer compensation as you requested; it is not something that we are able to provide I am sorry. Lead times can change given the nature of the industry and various contributing factors that can affect time frames. This is why sometimes would struggle providing a specific date for installation as opposed to an estimated one.

We can offer you a free upgrade to bi-folding doors if this helps? Ultimately, we want you to be happy with your order. Feel free to contact me to discuss, I would be happy to provide an alternative.

Shocking after sales

Shocking after sales. Made 3 appointments so far for them to replace a window sill that they scratched when installing and also faulty mechanism on other window. I have taken time off for these appointments and they have not turned up. In addition, tried to tell me I had caused the damage myself. Awful. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

bad seller

I want to replace the doors, both the front and back doors, because they're old. The first time I asked for a quote, no one responded. I emailed them a second time, and the salesperson called and told me to go to the showroom and they'd help me. I recently got out of the hospital and can't drive anywhere, so I emailed a third time. Someone called again and said, Okay, if you can't leave the house, I email you a catalog so I can choose something and then he give me a price. So far, I haven't received anything. And another company not only showed up the next day, but they sent an installer instead of a salesperson who measured everything precisely, advised me, gave me the exact price, including installation, and gave me a date for the door installation.So I don't recommend Direct Windows because you can't even get through the sales process, which is what they should care about most, I don't even want to think about what happens later if something breaks.
