Underwhelming! Not sure what the fuss is about. I can name 3 local curry houses who do better dishes. The only saving grace was our lovely server, Adam

Dissatisfied and disappointed ☹️
Okay so we realise you have to queue up which was fine as the weather wasn’t iffy. Then we had a wait when we got inside the restaurant (Dishoom Kingly Street). Then when we placed our orders the service staff told us all our food would be served at once and did not mention other options? We found this a tad strange and then thought surely they won’t serve our poppadoms with our mains? Well they bought everything together poppodoms, starters and mains!!! It was an absolute joke!!! We spent so much money at this place to what… eat cold mains! Yes by the time we were ready to eat our mains my nans and curry was stone cold! Not a lovely experience to say the least. I was so disappointed and upset and we don’t usually go out that often so decided to order several different dishes. This place is not cheap so when we see a couple next to is order their starter first and then ordered their main after finishing the starter we asked the service staff why we were not told we could do this? It is ridiculous that a simple suggestion was overlooked and now from this experience we won’t go back.
What I noticed is a lot of people just order one or two dishes and have a drink! Not really a restaurant vibe to be honest.
Brunch was amazing
Myself and a friend had brunch at Dishoom in Covent Garden. The service was good, attentive but not overly so; the food was exceptional. Scrambled eggs were perfection. Dishoom style. Absolutely no complaints, and fair value for money.
Carnaby Dishoom Great Meal
Had a really great meal for 4 at Carnaby Dishoom. This is like Mowgli but a little better in my opinion. The menu was a bit complex for me but maybe that’s because I’m not cool. The staff were really friendly. They have a great non alcoholic beverage menu for drivers too. Really nice experience
Birmingham branch, Cold curry can only mean, food, poisoning
We arrived after a Theatre night out in Birmingham around 10:20pm for a quick bite.
Food arrived on time... Our chicken ruby was stone cold... We didn't send it back and ate it. The drinks arrived after we finished our meal. The worst isn't over.. I had stomach pains on my 30 minute journey home... To run to the loo... A bout of painful food poisoning. Dont eat the chicken!!second time this has happened to me here. Stick to the veg options. Dishoom is overrated and standards have dropped hugely....dissapointed.
Excellent Food, Poor Queuing System
We have dined at several London Dishoom restaurants, the food is superb, the business model regarding table bookings and the captive bar audience creation prevents me giving five stars.
Dishoom choose not to take bookings after 17:45, instead choosing to let customers stand in the rain outside until a seat becomes available in their bar. Dishoom will not let you leave the queue and return at an allotted time either. Once you get allocated a bar seat you then wait again in the bar for a table, purchasing more drinks that you ever needed or wanted to. If this were altered to more restaurant seating, instead of creating their own captive audience, then my experience would absolutely be five stars.
Well we didn’t get a chance to sample…
Well we didn’t get a chance to sample the food in dishoom Edinburgh. We were visiting from Ireland and inadvertently booked the Restaurant for 8am instead of 8pm. The guy at the door wasn’t interested and we had to go elsewhere. This is not good customer service as we were really looking forward to dining here.

Food amazing 🤩 but the wait in freezing cold que to get and no tea served was terrible 😢 painful in fact waited over 1.5 hours to get in
Why can’t you have a booking system like everywhere else ?!?!

The food (kings x) is amazing and well worth the queue but they seem to have put their prices up a lot recently so not sure if I will go back any time soon
Lovely customer care experience
Dishoom is one of my top places to visit. It is well worth the wait. After one rare experience when it didn't go so well, Dishoom offered me and my party a complimentary breakfast and Scarlet Fallon-O'Sullivan dealt with my case with such generosity and kindness. Thank you.
Not a great experience
Not a great experience.
Visited Manchester site between xmas and new year for a friends birthday and not a great experience.
For £42 per person it started fairly pricey, but the service wasn't great and we weren't told how the whole night would work. As its fixed, they bring you food out when its ready and its small plate style. We weren't advised on how many courses so we were never sure how much more was coming.
They also said there was a £100 tab on top which you can request anything off the menu on top. This again was highly confusing, when we asked for things they didn't turn up and we were told they were coming with the plates. I don't think anyone was keeping count of things we asked for. It was really busy and the service was pretty shocking. From a group of 13 a lot of us left feeling pretty disappointed.
Overrated Edinburgh
Edinburgh . Very poor service. Disinterested. Waited 15 minutes before being approached. Food ok but overpriced for what it is. Then another 15 minutes to get the bill. Paid on the way out to speed up things. When questioned said they were all so tired after working hard. What a laugh as the place was less than half full
Dishoom is way overrated
After hearing rave reviews about Dishoom for years,I decided to give it a try when my cousin from Australia visited
We went to the one on St Martin’s lane,we queued for 40 mins to get in and while queuing were offered some terrible watery sour lemonade
I wasn’t impressed with the menu,there wasn’t really much of a choice
I expected a spice sensation but the food was so average and mediocre, some of it quite bland so I was left feeling extremely underwhelmed and disappointed
I have honestly had better Indian take aways, there are literally hundreds of better places in London to get amazing Indian food without having to queue for 40 minutes
I usually take guests who visit me to Busaba Eathai on Store street,I would definitely recommend that instead
Lovely lovely lovely

We visited Dishoom tonight and was happy that they had let us skip the queue considering I am pregnant. However, we couldn’t order anything else on the bar but just the drinks. Myself and my little one were extremely tired and After a very long
wait of almost 2 hours at the bar, last thing
we expected was to have stale food with poor quality of lamb and chicken in the main course. Can’t believe they can actually serve stale pre made rumali rotis and when I raised this to the server, she
didn’t agree but the next roti served was fresh as it should have been.
My daughter didn’t have her dinner as the food quality was poor.
Extremely disappointed for the first time
with Dishoom. You should make people’s wait Worth it and not Regret it!
Bacon,what bacon!
I've been a fairly regular visitor to Dishoom in Edinburgh since it opened, mainly for breakfast. I usually order sausage and egg nan roll, however this morning I decided to go for the much lauded bacon and egg nan,Wow the smallest bit of bacon I've ever been served anywhere, and it was dry and over cooked.
They did replace it afterwards, but the damage was done, I will go back ( for sausage and egg) but I'm no longer the fan boy I once was!
Overrated
Got a deliveroo , very underwhelming
Naan like rubber , curry tasteless , expensive too
Nice packaging though
Best customer services EVER
Best customer services EVER! Ordered some chai and some other stuff from the store as a gift for my brother. When he opened it, there was no chai in the chai tin. I emailed customer services who replied almost immediately (and this was on a Sunday!). I received the most gracious apology and the problem was rectified straight away. Seriously the best customer service experience I’ve ever had. Also got to say I LOVE Dishoom food - just delicious
