Closed waiting rooms
We had to stand with our backpacks for 3 hours from midnight because they refused to open the waiting rooms even when we asked. There are a few chairs in front of the waiting room. But a lot of people had to stand, pregnant women, the elderly, parents with children. If they couldn't do that for hours, they either sat down or lay down on the dirty floor. And the customer service watched the whole thing from their comfortable chairs. They were 'kind' enough to open the waiting room before departure, but even there weren't enough seats. It would be good to install moving walkways, because you had to walk a lot to get to section B.
Simply an oasis for long haul traveller
Having previously travelled via Doha I was stunned by recent upgrading / improvements which now render it a haven of peace, calm and efficiency .. such a relief on the long haul experience . Quiet areas, phone charging points and comfortable seating , freely available trolleys and sparkling restrooms everywhere… an oasis indeed …..and, incidentally , an example to Manchester Airport of how things should be done -
Abysmal Immigration
The immigration timeframe was the worst I have experienced anywhere( 1.40 hrs standing in a queue) and this was not a one off I met others with a similar experience on different days. I visited Qatar several times before in the old airport where the process was quick and friendly and was one of the best. My experience leaving this time was excellent but someone needs to sort out the
current immigration process.
Airport Toilets
The toilets at the airport were not clean with water on the floor and long queues. I tried two different ones but with same problem/issues.
An Airport like Doha need to keep a high standard of cleanliness & hygiene.
Security Staff need serious training to…
Security Staff need serious training to make a sense of what and why they are doing what they are doing. Arriving to Doha airport on Oct. 20th, they confiscated the water bottle and packed food served during my flight in my purse, for security concerns. I was arriving and not departing. it didn't get their logic.
I’m in Doha Airport on the B Concourse. There is about 1/3 the seats needed for Customers waiting to depart. There is chairs everywhere but all behind glass partitions. Open them up so we can sit!
I’m in the B Concourse at Doha Airport. Departing Customers can not sit and wait for their flight. Not enough chairs. Most of the chairs are behind glass partitions AFTER passengers are checked in. Please add some chairs or open up one or two of the areas with glass partitions. Many older people need this
Terrible accessibility experience
While the airport is very clean, and specious - plenty of places to sit/ wait/ sleep if you have a longer layover. I didn’t try the lounges but there did seem plenty of options.
However - the disability and accessibility training and/or knowledge by some staff was staggeringly poor and embarrassing.
I use a sight cane! When I went to go through security for scanning my hand luggage I was told “give it here, you can walk through without it” after being asked “what is it? Why do you have a walking stick?” When I said it was a sight cane because I can’t see properly - he asked me “what’s that then?”
I had just flown in from Iraq, and the service and friendliness there outshone that of the security staff in Doha!
I also felt that every time I walked past a shop I was being micro-watched. Made me not want to even bother trying to shop for anything.
I understand that there are cultural differences, especially when it comes to disability and mobility aids but I was stunned at how uncomfortable I felt at Doha airport at times.

DOHA AIRPORT – DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE – Be aware that they DO NOT accept or reply to complaints
I left my holdall containing some expensive clothing items in the overhead bin on a flight from Muscat to Doha on the 14th September, while rushing to get the connecting flight. I am still battling with the company and airport to get it returned.
I alerted Qatar airways staff as soon as the transfer bus arrived in the terminal and spoke to 7 members of Qatar Airways staff in total and not one was prepared to help me.
Amongst the stories I was given was that they would have to wait for cleaners to retrieve it, it was a security risk for them to go to the aircraft, someone was on their way to collect from the plane; no-one would be able to collect as the aircraft was parked too far from the terminal and that it never arrived in the lost property office, so they couldn’t return it to me.
I also reported the incident to Qatar Airways cabin crew on the Doha to Barcelona flight and spoke to a Qatar Airways staff member In Barcelona airport to no avail.
On my return I have emailed multiple times the following departments and members and of the airport - I have only received standard replies:
tell-us - qatarairways
fpco - qatarairways
officevie - qatarairways
suppor - qatarairways
dqinf - qatarairways
qrmedia - qatarairways
I have also emailed the following departments at Doha Hamad Airport and received 1 reply from Yasser Mania – Lead Customer Service Agent, telling me my bag had been found and gave me the reference DOHFP204224 - he hasn’t replied to my emails nor arranged to forward on my holdall.
contact-us - hamad
hiamedia - hamad
llqas - qataraviation
I have sent numerous messages via the Qatar Airways Lost & Found items website where the incident was recorded and no one answers and the status is still stuck on searching!
I then tried to raise an executive complaint to the following members of the board and I have received 0 replies:
Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer - Group Chief Executive
Hamad Ali Al-Khater - Chief Operating Officer
David Wilson - SVP Operations
Levina Govender - Customer Service Manager at Hamad International Airport
Sujata Suri - Vice President, Strategy & Customer experience
***MY RECOMMENDATION IS DO NOT CONNECT THROUGH DOHA HAMAD AIRPORT & DO NOT FLY WITH QATAR AIRWAYS BECAUSE IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG THEY WILL JUST ABANDON YOU***

We were told to walk to our connection flight.
Absolutely heartless.
Check the prices
This is in regards to duty free.
I was shopping for some perfumes for my family which were ok but no cheape that here in Australia. I have a young daughter and asked for some kids perfume nothing expensive.
I was given some and told it worked out to about a hundred dollars. Stupidly I took the advice. I was rushing for my connection and was very jetlagged. When I looked at my receipt the kids' perfume had cost me $440 .I was lied to, obviously for a commission that they get paid. Won't buy from there again and people check your prices dont be a sucker like me
Hamad International Airport, Qatar
Hi,
Just a friendly warning, At a stopover in Hamad International Airport In Qatar I was going to buy some cosmetic articles.
Normally the prices in these tax free shops are quite lower then the ones in your heavyly taxed country, so I thought.
When I came home I compared the rates I paid In Qatar against the prices in an averrage cosmetic shop in Gothenburg.
The result was quite surprising. If I had bought the stuff here in Gothenburg It would actually be cheaper then the tax free alternative in Qatar Airport.
So If you vistit Qatar so before you buy anything check the prices
before you buy. You might get traken for a ride.
Just a friendly warning. My experiance with airports before Qatar
has always been that the prices are quite lower then in your country.
Have a nice day
Worst airport in the world
The security are thieves
The security are thieves, one of them stole my diamond bracelet from my carry on bag and the security supervisor "ELIKAM" was very unhelpful and conspired with his co workers to steal it. I will be contacting a lawyer and pressing charges. Do everything in your power to avoid a transit through this airport, they use cheap labour workers who have no morals and are very unorganised.
Can loose important items with Cary on package
Their security are thieves steal anything they can find in your carryon packages with rules excuses . I made claim online and they didn’t respond. They bring international cheap labor security who don’t understand law and they told me their manager is sleeping during working h. It’s very bad and too expensive airport. Try to avoid it.
Bad customer service
Worst airport too many cleaner no customer service and help no arab person is just show off place checking ur bag as u reach the plane. flight always late one hour late now annonce tey maybe more delay
Airport and Staff are very rude and practices religious bias!
Every process and every person working in Doha airport has no courtesy, no understanding of the reasons behind the policies, supports religious bias and ignores other than their own. You greet them in their language the entry is easy, you can wear jacket or jackets still you won’t be asked to strip. They have no clue on security checking, the protocols are so senseless in this airport in comparison to the rest of the world. Forgot to mention my wife was molested in front of the entire crowd in the name of security checking. I had two kids with me and we spent 20 long hours in the airport, We bought water at the airport that isn’t allowed inside the flight in spite of having the receipt. Even the third world nations have meaningful policies in comparison to Doha. I will avoid this airport here on and I would recommend everyone else to utilize any other airports than Doha! Worst airport ever!
I like this airport
I like this airport. There are quiet places that are really good, it is easy to navigate and you can get help. Internet is also very good.
Bad service
Top modern airport but very poor service. Airline staff standing in groups talking to each other. They showed no interest in tourists walking by. Service means being welcoming, proactive, helpful, and smiling. I did not experience this at the airport. Another thing that needs to be upgrade quickly is the toilets. There need to be five times more toilets than there are now. I had to stand in line for a long time before one was available. Additionally, the toilets need to be enclosed rooms. There can't be openings at the bottom and top. It doesn't feel comfortable to sit there at all."
