What a fantastic shoe shop
My wife and I brought our 8 year old son to the shop a few Saturdays ago. As an independent store this shop has service nailed. Forget the big stores, and come here for proper organised service and advice on your purchase. The girl who served us was just lovely and very helpful. I was really impressed how slick the experience was. Fantastic!

I travelled to Donagheys to get school…
I travelled to Donagheys to get school shoes and trainers for my daughter as I do every year. I joined the queue and there was one person behind me. i was given a token and told I was next to take a seat. The person behind me was served before me and when I queried this I was told that customers daughters feet were bigger than my daughter’s so she got another member of staff to serve her. This baffled me as they both had to be measured. Surely if you join the same queue your served in order! It appeared that the staff giving out the tickets knew the lady behind me

I completely understand why it appeared that the customer behind you had been served out of turn, particularly as you had been given a token and advised that you were next.
I’d like to reassure you that this was not a case of preferential treatment. Some members of staff from our Ladies’ Department are trained to fit shoes in adult sizes, so if a child requires an adult-sized shoe and a member of the Ladies’ team is available, we may ask them to assist that customer. Our Children’s Department staff are specifically trained in fitting and measuring younger children’s feet and smaller children’s sizes.
On this occasion, the customer behind you was able to be assisted by a member of our Ladies’ team because of the shoe size required, while you remained next in the queue for our Children’s fitting team. I appreciate that this was not properly explained to you at the time, which understandably gave the impression that you had been overlooked.
Please accept our apologies for the misunderstanding. We really appreciate your continued custom each year for your daughter’s school shoes and trainers, and we hope this explanation provides some reassurance.
