This company in Alicante are claiming…
This company in Alicante are claiming for damage on cars that are already there and adding IVA on top knowing that they are not going to get the damage repaired. They are defrauding in a big way.
2 hours to collect the car. Uncontactable.
From Palma airport terminal to driving away took 2 full hours. There were only 2 people on the desks for a queue of about 30 rentals. The manager who served me was not at all apologetic about the wait.
No one took you to look at the car etc. The tyre pressure error light was on. The contract said full to full fuel, but then the car was only 3/4 full at pickup.
I tried to contact the Palma branch many times to try and arrange an early drop off but it was impossible via any method. They don’t open til 8am so near this in mind for morning flights.
Drop off was fast and smooth, and no unfair charges were made, however I would absolutely not use Dravalia Palma ever again.

I rented a car through Booking.com last week with Drivalia. I have used many car hire companies across Spain and Portugal over the years without any issues, but this was by far the worst experience I’ve had.
The company appears to rely heavily on constant insurance upselling at the counter and questionable damage claims to generate additional revenue. I was charged for a hairline scratch that was barely visible and, in my opinion, was already present when the car was collected.
The staff were rude and unhelpful throughout the entire process, which only added to the frustration.
I do want to acknowledge that Booking.com handled my complaint very professionally. Once I contacted them, they arranged a refund of the charge immediately, which I appreciated.
What is most concerning is that companies can still profit from these kinds of questionable insurance claims. Experiences like this damage trust in the industry and ultimately contribute to rising insurance costs for everyone.
I would strongly advise anyone considering this company to look elsewhere.
**1 Star - Drivalia Mallorca: Prepaid Rental Turned Into a €155 Insurance Trap
**1 Star — Drivalia Mallorca: A Prepaid Rental Turned Into a High-Pressure Insurance Trap**
This was not just bad customer service. This felt like a deliberate counter process designed to pressure prepaid customers into paying more once they are already financially trapped.
I had already prepaid for both the rental and insurance, but when I arrived at Drivalia in Mallorca, my prepaid insurance was treated as essentially meaningless. I was given two choices: leave a **€1,400 deposit** or pay **€155 for Drivalia’s additional insurance**.
That was not a real choice. Since the rental and insurance were already prepaid, walking away would have meant losing the money I had already spent. I chose the deposit option, but Drivalia tried two different credit cards and claimed both were rejected. I immediately contacted both credit card companies, and both confirmed there had been **no attempted transaction**. Not declined. Not blocked. No attempted transaction at all.
Even more concerning, one of the same credit cards that supposedly would not work for the deposit was then accepted immediately for the €155 insurance payment. So the card somehow failed for the deposit, but worked perfectly when Drivalia was collecting additional insurance money.
One of the most disturbing parts of the experience was watching what appeared to be a senior counter employee actively grooming a younger employee through the same pressure tactics. I hope the young man eventually realizes this is not the way to go through life and goes back to school to he does not end up like the senior counter worker.
Afterward, I found multiple online reviews describing similar issues with Drivalia: prepaid or third-party insurance being rejected, large deposits being demanded, credit card problems at the counter, pressure to buy additional insurance, cleaning fees, damage charges, long waits, and customers feeling trapped because they had already prepaid.
Based on my experience, Drivalia’s advertised prepaid price did not reflect the real cost of the rental. The actual cost was revealed only after I was already at the counter, already committed, and dependent on getting the car.
I would never rent from Drivalia in Mallorca again. Travelers should be extremely cautious before booking, especially if they are relying on prepaid or third-party insurance.
**Rating: 1 star — only because zero stars is not available.**
Very smooth service
Very smooth service after a terrible Barcelona flight. Hassle free pick up and drop off.
I am very unhappy
I am very unhappy. I’ve been charged for three small marks that I know I didn’t do. There was also another huge scratch that was not recorded on their system but luckily I had a photo of it, when I asked why it wasn’t recorded I was told it was probably because someone didn’t do it or because of weak internet or something
Doesn’t inspire confidence in Drivalia

Drivalia Malaga. Overall excellent
This is a review for Malaga. Initial shuttle bus pick up was very quick ( just lucky ). At shuttle bus meeting point no areas for each company so just a little bit of a lottery where to stand. Reception at Drivalia very clean and bright. Initial contact was not over friendly but professional. I had all the necessary documentation. Given keys but not shown to vehicle. Knew what to look for and check vehicle with photos etc. Issue initially since car would not move. Safety feature since handbrake only deactivated once seat belts fastened. ( I am aware of law but I was only checking everything was working before setting off ). Car was literally new with around 3000km on the clock. Larger vehicle than I expected which was fine but in some of the small villages this can lead to parking problems. Return of vehicle was brilliant. CHRISTINA was very helpful. Thank you !!!
Shuttle bus took us immediately.
Overall very satisfied and I will continue to use DRIVALIA when required.
I now add that my security deposit was returned within 24 hours. Fantastic service.

Never again this Company.
Never again this Company.
They made me a bill for 2 damages, then I checked again my pictures and complained and the returned the already deducted money.
On the car have been already 21 small damages and it's hard to check all of them.
But they try to make more profit.
Would not have been a problem for, because I had fully insurance and CARJET would have returned.
They try to cheat - be carefully !!

Disrespectful attitude to customer
Disrespectful attitude to customer. The person who we met was unable to tell us properly the rules of the assurance and could not answer our questions. He was so disrespectful. the service is awful, the office is in the middle of nowhere. The meeting point at the airport was not easy to find even though there is a long description on the contract because the sidewalks have changed and the company did not even bother to change the description.
AVOID DRIVALIA Alicante Airport
Rented car 5 days took back and the lady went over with a magnifying glass. Told me I had damaged an alloy! I accept I should have been more thorough when accepting car but it was 10pm and site was closing. Guy next to me livid just looks like a total scam to recover funds from hirers. The car had lots of dings and dents as well as a pretty badly damaged alloy. If everyone has paid their damage fees why is the car not 100% when you pick it up!!! That way if it’s damaged you are responsible!! TRIPLE check everything before you leave the site! They are out to get you and your money! I have hired 30+ cars in Alicante the ONLY issues I have ever had Drivalia and Gold Car. AVOID
