Run - predatory practices

Drive Smart warranty quickly took my money ( FULL PAYMENT -$3,100) and issued the warranty. I had NO claims! The warranty was on a 2022 Subaru. I cancelled my warranty on September 23, 2005 after selling the vehicle.
After writing a formal letter requesting the cancellation and notification from Drive Smart that my coverage was cancelled on 10/1/2025. This notification went to the lending institution-that financed the loan and myself.
Now after 8 weeks NO REFUND! They are holding $2,600+ balance of my payment while I continue to pay the loan company monthly. I contacted the loan company and have requested the refund and have gotten nothing but a run around!
Tried to contact Drive Smart - the phone numbers they provide on their website and google searches are: (1-888-578-3711) and (1-888-980-0770) for customer service! BOTH THESE NUMBERS are direct to customer service at the loan company! I am paying monthly to the loan company (required to not default on my loan) while not receiving services by this dishonest company holding my refund!!

Cancellation Nightmare

I’m extremely disappointed in DriveSmart’s handling of my refund request. I submitted the request in January and was told in May that my refund—$XXXX.XX—had been calculated and was awaiting a mail-out date. Since then, I’ve followed up multiple times with no response.
I work in finance, and I regularly handle refunds and customer payments. Delays of this length are simply unheard of in any reputable company. Not only is the process inefficient, but there’s also been a complete lack of accountability and transparency.
What’s worse—there’s no phone number to reach this department, no supervisor available, and no escalation process. All communications have stopped, and I still haven’t received my refund.
I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. Customer trust is earned through action and integrity—and sadly, this experience has shown me neither.

Difficult to get ahold of.

I just signed up with them yesterday and made my payment and trying to get ahold of them is very difficult. Red Flag.
So, after multiple attempts of trying to reach them they finally called be back.
If its this hard to get ahold of them now just imagine if you were broken down on the side of the road to get ahold of them. There is also other reviews from customers putting in a claim for repairs and they would slow walk the claim and try to find ways of getting out of paying the claim by putting the blame on customers. BUYER BEWARE. BUYER BEWARE. LOOK AT THE REVIEWS FROM CUSTOMERS.

Never responded to any of my calls or…

Never responded to any of my calls or emails. They keep saying they have a high volume of calls and say they will get back to me but never do! I have been trying for 3 days now and want some answers!!

I received a call from this company…

I received a call from this company offering me a 5 year warranty and only pay for 2 years. I said I was interested so they transferred me to another guy who was very aggressive and rude. I told him that I wanted to check out the reviews of the company and started talking over me. The then hung up on me.

Open a savings account just for your car (FACTS)

I have given this company 3925.00
I had two claims which I had to fight for them to be paid including both was 1700.00. when I bought my car it had 40,000 miles on it, and it now had over a 100,000 miles. A dealer put in a claim for me for a timing chain, and it was denied because it was low 2 quarts of oil. My oil light didn't come on, my engine light didn't come on had an oil change 3 months ago drove my care within those 3 months maybe 10 times, I have no oil leaks. I've had this car for years and I took care it. Wear and tear over the many years can be the cause for timing chain to go bad. I knew I should have took it the dealership, but last time I took it there I had to fight for drive smart to pay for the claim but they said well the dealerships cost more that's why claims didn't want to pay. Now it's because 2 quarts of oil. I know my car timing chain didn't stop because of 2 quarts of oil. Wanted to cancel my policy but what's the point I gave them 3925.00 and claimed 1700.00 but I may not get but 100 to 200 in refund. The best I could have done was open a savings account just for my car emergency because this warranty bs is just down right wrong. People as in me, are having a hard times and struggling, they as drive smart warranty taking
advantage of people. I may as well just gave away 2200.00 I till have to get my car fixed. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. I'll pray for you people 🙏🙏. This is wrong in many ways. I went to the end of Drive Smart web page and it say BBB ACCREDITED (LIES) I was just on BBB couldn't find the company, typed in name address city state zip code and phone number from my contract with Drive Smart Warranty It's not on the BBB at all fake and Lies. I was with car shield and I let them talk me in to switching companies to them because they said car shield had bad reviews on BBB they're not even known on BBB at all nothing good or bad is this a company who knows. Im a single woman and I depended on this company for my car because I have do have a mortgage and other expenses that was the point of me getting the warranty so I at least didn't have to worry about my car. Now I can't pay my mortgage because I have to get my car fixed, without my car I can't work without work I can't pay my mortgage. This is a lose lose situation.

Hello my Name is Mary Juarez I'm writing too this department again because I haven't got proof of my cancelation with this plan as of yet .through tex message or emails about my refund as well so I file a claim with my Bank on this matter .I've Talk too Miss Dorothy im still waiting on a response no phone call or email or tex message showing me proof of cancelation . Of this plan. The first one they put me on they canceled it themselves and give me my refund right away if the 96.oo and some change. Now on the plan they put on without my authorization . It wasn't until I talk too Miss Lucy that I decided too keep it .then I found out I didn't really need it because I had a warranty plan already so I call too cancel .when Miss Dorothy want me too send her proof that I did have warranty instead of just canceling my plan like I requested .on Jan 3rd I fax it in too her .and she told me everything was canceled I would get my refunds back but still nothing no refunds yet not proof this plan was canceled like I requested font want too call because of the customer service this place has is very rude they like to argue with you like Mr George did nice business just poor customer service and employees .we shouldn't have too prove nothing too no one why we want too canceled our plan I feel this was against my constitution rights as a citizen .too be treated like this and talk too the way I was all I want and been asking for is my refunds and proof the plan was canceled . This was it so I did file a claim with my bank too get my money back it shouldn't have too come too this and we as people shouldn't be treated like we on trail just respect our wishes .this how I feel .God bless you all

Really appreciated Lucy for her knowledge and expert handling of my inquiry as well as her very professional handling of my inquiry. Neccessary cancelation After requesting a policy from…

After requesting a policy from drivesmart, the next day I realized that I had to cancel due to a major disruption with regards to my financial situation. After speaking with them they immediately canceled the policy and did not give me a hard time about it. They were very understanding and I'm grateful that their customer service department was so friendly and efficient. Whenever I am able to purchase an extended warranty in the future, they will be who I'll call with no hesitation. They are the best.
