Alex Burden: Great Customer Service Skills and Product Knowledge
So far, my experience with this company has been positive. There was 3 different people to talk to before they got my policy done, and the first 2 sound a little inexperienced on the product when I had questions, but Alex Burden (the last person I spoke with, who I did paperwork with), was very knowledgeable, upbeat, and had a great customer service demeanor, which is hard to find these days. He answered my questions quickly and concisely.
Quick note: I noticed some negative reviews of car warranty companies, in general, on this site, but I want to note that I have purchased an extended warranty from a different company with similar sales processes (aka, random, unexpected call), and was pleasantly surprised when I needed major repairs on a past vehicle, and it was taken care of with very little hassle. CarSmart offers the ability to go to the shop of your choice, including the dealership, whereas the competitor I used previously did require I go to certain shops, most of which were at least 20 miles away from where I lived. This was the deciding factor for me when choosing between CarSmart and its competitors. I also got a maintenance package that costs me nothing when I need basic maintenance done, which is great. Unfortunately, car companies just don’t put much pride into making cars anymore, and, in fact, most are probably made by robots who definitely don’t care about a job well done. Most vehicles dont last more than 5 years, anymore, without things starting to break down, one by one, especially if you can’t keep up with regular maintenance, which is astronomical nowadays. So, if you have a used vehicle thats past the manufacturer’s warranty, I highly recommend getting a policy to cover those issues. It will most likely bite you in the butt later, if you don’t. Just my humble 2 cents..
