DFS Solar (Dual Fuel Solutions) Reviews 150

It took me months to whittle down which company to go with when installing solar and batteries on my house. I've spoken with 15+ companies before I said "okay let's do this".

Here are the reasons I chose Dual Fuel:
* from the outset they were no nonsense, clearly told me "hey make sure you're actually allowed to put panels on before we go further" (new build, contract, estate endorsements limit some things soon after purchase)
* they did not have a salesperson come out in person who would quote me a huge amount expecting a negotiation down. There weren't any deals, offers, "bring your neighbour, we'll give you discount" stuff, and I appreciate that it kept that part of awkwardness out of the process
* the price was excellent! For comparison, of two other companies who started with large sums, even after negotiating it down, they still weren't near it
* after double checking the proposed system with a very very roughly similar one I put together on easy-pv myself, the price was great

Getting to the decision was the hard part. Everything else from that point was straightforward:
* within 2 weeks I had a date for install (I realise those of you reading this might not experience such quick turnarounds. That's expected with supply issues per everyone I talked to. I lucked out)
* the scaffolding crew they got put up the scaffold in about an hour? Maybe two? They were really quick!
* Installation of the 12 panels, inverter, batteries took half a day maybe. Configuration 5-10 minutes.

After sales support is excellent! I get through to an actual human quickly, they answer all my questions, and when they don't know they tell me they don't know but will look it up.

As far as getting things done on the house, this was by far the least stressful experience. Everything went the way they said it would.

10/10, A+, would recommend. If I'm ever in charge of getting solar installed anywhere else, they are the first people I'm calling.

From the first email to Alan everything was done for me with no fuss , no salesman talk , just honest talk .
It took about 2 wks from when the survey came out to the professional team fitting the solar system on a very wet Sunday.

I now have a fully functioning system and I am very pleased with it

Every step of the way was explained
The scaffolding went up and down on time and as planned

The fitters ( Joe and Callum ) arrived early morning on the day of the installation and worked non stop to get the job done in one day they are a total credit to your company

I now have a fully functioning system and I am very pleased

I would have given 5 stars but just a few niggles reduced it to 4 (4.5 I would have done if I could). Overall, really good, price and value for money good, pre sales/sales process with Alan Shield was really excellent - no pressure selling, and very knowledgeable and competent person, dealt with all queries and chased things up. Installation/fitters team were brilliant (all of them), led by Adam, but they all did their bit. Panels & EV charger installed, electrics all done, even cleared out the gutters! Thank you! Slight problem afterwards with out of range voltage, but got support on that and turned out to be the local supply was too high so National Grid had to come out and adjust their transformer. Since then, no probs and Zappi EV charger has worked fine. Only small criticism is that their admin function seemed a bit chaotic at times - I had to get the quote done 3 times before it was right. I know they were really busy and so not surprising if there are some small problems

Had solar pv system fitted by them at the end of June, 12 panels and inverter, I was informed that their would be a delay for the battery backup system.
They phoned and informed me of delivery delays but shortly after were able to supply the batteries, I have 5 which will cover overnight energy.
Workmanship is excellent, I am extremely happy at the generation to date 1600 kwh produced.
As a side note, When applying for the smart export guarantee check your energy supplier as they can take 12 to 15 weeks to register you and you must give them the correct export reading when you apply which comes from your outside smart meter, don't give them the inside generation reading, I had to raise a lot of complaints with eonenergy.com as I had made this genuine mistake otherwise
Very happy with dual fuels.

I found all the staff from the salesman to the installers and office staff helpful and pleasant to deal with. However, there has been a turn over within the office staff.

I would recommend dual fuel, and already have.

The blokes fitting the solar panels were fantastic

Great service start to finish, Kept everything as tidy as they could. Once the job was completed they showed me the real time data on the solar equipment. Can't help but keep looking at it seeing the money im saving!!

The installation team (Joe and Callum) we’re efficient, friendly and quite frankly spot on!
The Design and Operations Teams were also very helpful and supportive.
My only comment is that the teams are so busy, there maybe a slight delay in call backs sometimes but they generally do get back to you and are very good at what they do.

After a lot of research and gathering quotes from many companies I chose Dual Fuel Solutions for my solar pv system and battery storage. They had the most knowledgeable people who had provided honest advice and were really flexible in tailoring their quotes to my specific needs.

Even with the current sky high demand for solar pv systems they were responsive and kept me informed during the process, and on the day their installation team demonstrated the same excellent customer service and knowledge I'd had experienced from the office staff.

Based on several shared experiences of friends having poor service from their solar pv installers at various points in the process I would point out that its not just about picking the best kit or the lowest price; but that you should really try to pick the right people as well.

Managed to get our panels installed in 3 weeks as we didn't want a battery. The guys had 12 panels up and everything done in less than 4 hours. Bernard was really helpful with our quote and managed to push things along a little. I have already recommended this company to a couple of friends. Is there a referrers reward?

4.9kwp solar panels plus 3.7 kWh inverter. Good company, it takes only 1.5 day to instal, not long wait for instalation, helpfull staff on the phone, thank you

No batteries still.
I have waited months for my batteries to be installed. The latest potential date being end of Oct. It is now end of Oct and still nothing heard from Duel Fuel !!!

First, changed advertised price by saying standard price does not include scaffolding cost. And then further increased quoted & agreed price by saying material cost increased!

It can’t be easy in the Solar PV trade at the moment. With the increasing cost of energy, lots of people are considering having a Solar PV system installed and companies offering these must be run off their feet.

We’d heard & read many tails of companies not getting back with quotes, giving unreliable information or over charging seeing the trend as a bit of a cash cow.

We’d also heard of lots of Cowboy organisations that are new to the industry, don’t really know what they are selling and taking advantage of this trend.

We approached about 7 companies back in May and they all came forward with quotes of varying systems ranging from 8 panels with no batteries up to 18 panels with over 10kW/h of battery storage.

Of all the quotes we had, the one from Dual Fuel Solutions was well thought out and backed up with an example illustration of costs and savings including likely generation rates based on our location and the direction of our roof.

It wasn’t the cheapest but based on other Trustpilot reviews and a good feeling about the staff we had dealt with, we felt it was the right fit for us.

Unfortunately, the initial G99 application (done by Dual Fuel Solutions as part of the install) threw up some issues with our supply and so we had to wait a while for some additional work to be done by our DNO but once that was sorted, Dual Fuel Solutions gave us an installation date within a few weeks.

The scaffolding went up late Wednesday afternoon, the panels went up on Thursday and the scaffolding was gone by Saturday.

It was a very early start for the guys who installed the system who endured a 3.5 hour drive to get to us and were still with us before 8am.

Joe & Cal worked very well together and once they got the lie of the land, they got to work.

They were very “invested” in the whole installation and we got the impression that they really wanted to ensure everything was to our satisfaction (which it was!!). They just didn’t stop, even though pouring rain!!

They did a very tidy job, ensuring all our floors were protected before they began and clearing up after the job was done.

The system itself is working well and even though the weather has been seasonally dull, the panels are generating more than our needs at times.

Batteries are in short supply at the moment so unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for those but they recognised that in our payment and are happy for us to hold back a substantial amount until such times that these are fitted.

The whole team have been great, and we are very happy that we chose Dual Fuel Solutions.

Definitely not Cowboys!!
