UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO DX'S REPLY (10th Sep 2025):

* Yes i agreed to go ahead with the build as I was assured the difference to the original plans would be minimal - it wasn't! It looked nothing like what I had ordered. More like a garden box than garden room! You also expected me to lift slabs and dig a trench in my garden for the electric cables, after being assured this would all be done for us. Something that the adjudicator agreed was not something a home owner should be asked to do. Note... I was paying you 20K for this project!! Absolutely nobody pays £20K for a small ugly box in their garden!!

* You only refunded my £10K deposit because you were instructed to - after the adjudicator from the Alternative Dispute Resolution ruled in my favour. You had no choice. You actually tried everything in your power to only partially refund me. You even resorted to blackmailing me over my negative reviews at one point!! You held on to my money for over 5 months - all through Christmas too.

* I also noticed a few weeks ago that you attempted to have this review removed from Trust Pilot claiming that it had been posted accidentally under the wrong company??! Very strange that you have now remembered me and replied accordingly.

* You haven't mentioned the damage to my property that was never fixed, or that you lied to Which? Trusted Trader about it saying that we refused you entry to the property!!

* Just an all round awful experience!

UPDATE: After contacting Which? Trusted Trader and taking part in an Alternative Dispute Resolution process, this matter has now been resolved and I have finally been refunded in full! On the plus side, most of the people we dealt with here seemed nice enough, however I think there's a clear lack of communication within the company and too many people dealing with the one project. They don't seem to cope very well when things go wrong.

This company has fantastic reviews, which was the primary reason we chose them but honestly, I have no idea why! Our experience with them has been (and continues to be) absolutely dreadful! Below is a brief summary of the key issues we've encountered...

I was quoted TWICE for a garden room of a specific size (4m x 3m), which they later admitted they do not actually offer, subsequently providing me with "the closest thing to it" without letting me know!!

Upon realising the discrepancy (the evening before the work commenced and after the materials had already ben delivered to our property), they assured me (and also my partner) during a phone call that the room would still measure 12m², just with slightly different dimensions. This was not the case, meaning that I was given false information (lied to) by the company director.

Important to note here: their customer sales brochure contains incorrect and misleading sizing information, which constitutes false advertising and also made it difficult to ascertain which size of room I was actually getting.

Once partially built, it became clear that the Garden Room was not only too small, but also the wrong style!

They caused significant damage to my property and have failed to repair it, despite promising to address the issue. We have now had to pay for another tradesman to come and fix our floorboards and brickwork that they damaged.

During the sales process, they committed to carrying out specific work that they they later admitted they do not actually provide. This resulted in us being asked to lift up concrete slabs and dig a trench in our garden by ourselves - which we were advised by sales would all be done for us. We were promised an "all inclusive job".

They have since offered to correct the style, but would not address the sizing issue and have refused to carry out the groundwork that was initially promised.

The garden room structure has now been removed and I have been left with 18 lovely ground screws sticking out my garden - making it unsafe for my children to play in.

I have paid £10,000 for all of this and have, of course, requested a refund. However, the company seems to be conveniently avoiding any discussion on the matter, and getting a response from them has been extremely difficult. This issue has been ongoing for two months now. I strongly urge you to avoid this company at all costs.

Recently just had windows replaced from dx home improvements. The process was really professional, no pushy tactics which we’ve experienced in the past and no on the spot price offers, Ryan who went over everything made it all very clear what was being offered. The office staff kept us up to date with all communications. The fitters on the day were spot on, left the place spotless. Really impressed and will 100% use again.

We recently had DX Home Improvements out to design our new kitchen. Everything was done on the day and we got left with our kitchen visuals and estimate. We secured it on the day with no pressure for the sales rep. Can’t wait to see my new kitchen come to life!

Excellent phone service from start to finish. Men came out fur measuring and fitting doors and got straight onto the job and worked diligently till the job was finished.
Really happy with our new doors and we no longer have draughts coming in 😃

William and Steven did a fantastic job at installing our new windows! Both were very professional and got all 6 windows replaced in a day. They look amazing and we’re over the moon with the result. Fantastic from start to finish, the guys were quick and reliable, outside of house was cleaned to a high standard after the rough casting was finished. Angela in the office was brilliant and always there to answer any questions etc. Would highly recommend this company.

I wish I could have left a positive review here, but the aftercare provided by DX has been so poor that it has spoiled the entire experience. We had new windows installed on 5th Aug 2024, fitters were excellent and left the place spotless after they have finished.
Having a look at the glass, I could see that 3 panes had scratches on them. Considering the price paid I asked for these to be repaired, I was told they would replace all of these. This is when the problems started.
Once the majority of the bill had been paid, the impetus to do the work vanished and suddenly they weren’t so keen to keep in touch or get things booked in.
It’s now 1st October and the remedial work has still not been completed. 1st time the fitters turned up they could replace 2 panes but didn’t have the right size for the 3rd. 2nd attempt and they cancelled on the morning they were supposed to arrive. 3rd attempt and a fitter turned up out of the blue (no contact to advise they were planning to attend), took one look at the window and said no I don’t have the right size glass.
Whoever is running the office is clearly not doing a particularly good job, they just don’t care after the money has been paid.
I would’ve used this company again for other work but not after this debacle.

Got new windows fitted in my new home. Very smooth process, price range is great! Great discount offers! Windows stored and fitted in a couple weeks. I had 5 windows replaced and the job was completed in less than a day.

Fabulous service from a super friendly and professional company. I’ve just had new sash and case windows fitted in our Victorian home. The windows were replaced with minimal disruption to the original features of the house. The whole process was seemless, the girls in the office are lovely and all the teams were quick and efficient on the day, no mess at all. A fabulous job, would highly recommend and would definitely use DX again in the future. Thanks all.

This company are fab, really friendly, not pushy sales and kept me updated from start to finish, from girls in the office, surveyor and install. I had new french doors installed anthracite and they are lovely, great service, great work and super tidy. I know they do other jobs and will defo go to them for my next project.

Absolutely delighted with my new conservatory built by DX Home Improvements, it was built to my specification, the workmanship on it was first class, the workmen were also on time, kept you informed of everything they were doing and what the timescales were, and nothing was a problem to them, I would definitely recommend DX Home Improvements if you are thinking of a conservatory.

Clean and tidy job, hassle free

Got a single story extension with bifold doors and a lovely sky light. DX guys managed the architectural design and build of the whole thing. Kept the fixed fee as promised. Although approval too sometime but build quality is excellent and I would say for a project this size the fee still were fixed from beginning and didn’t have any nasty surprises. Overall quite happy with it. Finished the project within 6/7 weeks even after whether been really horrendous. Guys are helpful and act quickly on any request. Overall I would recommend them to others.

Brilliant company from sales to installation. Had front door, window and patio doors fitted. Guys were on site before 8am. Job finished same day. They swept and tidied as they went. No mess left behind. Highly recommend.

We had a kitchen fitted by DX , Started on Monday completed by Friday afternoon . Quality workmanship and no mess left behind . Friendly and helpful team . I would recommend using this company.

I've used DX Home improvements a couple of times. On both occasions the work carried out has been of great quality and the after sales support has been fantastic.

The work was carried out efficiently and the on-site team made good efforts to leave the area clean and tidy.

Any questions post installation were dealt with quickly and all information provided was comprehensive.

When is engaging with the sales team, arranging a time for a quote was straightforward and the representative was very knowledgeable in the products they supply.

The price of the work was fair and inline, if not better than, the competition.
