Bad in taste, service, and execution

Let's start with the objectives. I had 3 deliveries total. 2 were late. All 3 had the wrong items. The first one they didn't send me a UPS tracking or any notification, so I was left wondering what's going to happen and I stayed home all day for it. Eventually it came near evening. They didn't get my order correct (for example I ordered 3 of meal #2 but instead of got 5 and then got less of meal #1), but at least it was the correct number of items and they were all the items I ordered.

Second delivery it was late a day. They claimed the truck had an accident or something. On top of that about half of my order were items I didn't order. The rest was sort of what I ordered--the total number was incorrect, but the number of each item was incorrect again. The items were not frozen when they arrived but they were still edible. They gave me a credit at least.

For my third order I received a box of food a day late. At first I thought it was my order and I immediately notified them that about half of the order was totally incorrect. Before I heard back, the next day I received another box which was my actual order. This box was in transit for 5 days (checked UPS), came two days late, and food came spoiled. Inedible. This is just more evidence of their poor logistics.

So finally I just had enough and asked for a refund and to close my account. The customer service person on the phone said they would refund me. Then I don't see anything and followed up. I got a reply saying they would look into it and then the tickets get closed. So basically they are telling me to take a hike.

Now let's talk about the subjective. The food is horrible. I'm not expecting gourmet but I'm at least expecting frozen TV dinner quality. I'm not talking about my preference for the seasoning here. There are two actually objective observations.

1. They must use citric acid or something as a preservative because EVERYTHING is sour. Meat. Vegetables. You name it. It has that sour taste you find when you buy something like jarred minced garlic.

2. Just about everything in their Keto menu had this strong garlic flavor. I like garlic but this is that old garlic flavor--the smell where you leave cut raw garlic out for a night and come back to it the next day. If anyone has ever left a cutting board out after cutting garlic and didn't wash it you know what I mean. I'm pretty sure they prep by mincing garlic and then it just sits there before being cooked to develop that smell.

I was surprised in how good the food…

I was surprised in how good the food is. I am a very picky eater which is pathetic for my age, and was hoping to find something to provide variety in order to eat healthy, but tasty enough to keep me going. Eat Clean is the way to go. Not to mention, the ingredients look clean as well which is important.

The food is fresh and tastes delicious. Overall the customer service is stellar. I had one incident, which is why I give 5 stars and not 5. I had placed my weekly order and for some reason my on file credit card, which was used the previous week for my order, was declined. Therefore, Eat Clean did not ship my order. That I understand. However, Eat Clean did not reach out to me to verify or inquire about a new credit card. I missed the window to receive my order . I did have a conversation with customer service and let them know how disappointed I was, and that going forward I think it is best business practice to follow up with a customer of an on file credit card is declined. Hopefully Eat Clean will update that policy. Overall, I am very happy with Eat Clean and won’t let this mishap tarnish my future relationship with them.

Do Not Recommend

I wish I would have read the reviews first...frustrated with the whole experience (yes it was a WHOLE experience when it shouldn't have been). First order there were issues setting up the initial delivery and my preferences along with the delivery date. This was NOT an easy, quick fix...the app is not easy to use when submitting a help desk ticket for issues, and even though there is a number provided to call, they have never answered on the first try and usually takes a few days of phone tag.
The food honestly, all tasted the same after just one box of "varied" meals. Similar, soft, gellatanous texture that reminds me of hospital food.
I decided after the 2nd week to cancel. I had already paid for box to be delivered and I even ASKED the company if I cancel before I recieve my already paid for box, will I still get it delivered? This was not an easy ask, as it took multiple help desk ticket/open cases submitted, AND voicemail leaves after days went by with no reply, AND finally email inquiries after no phone call connection occurred.
Eventually I was told it would be fine and the last box that I paid for would be delivered...honestly, I just wanted a refund at that point but, I was reassured the good would be coming so I went with it.
Except the delivery never came!!! I waited 3 days before trying to do the contact for assistance dance and once I finally talked to someone they said, "we will have our accounting department look into this". I just wanted my money back at this point. It's been over one month and NOTHING has happened. I have called and left voicemails and submitted tickets for help and all I've gotten are emails with the same reply, "our accounting department is looking into this".
I'm so frustrated and feel like I was scammed. And maybe it's their word versus mine because there isn't any way to prove I didn't receive it and no way for them to prove they did? Actually that's not true, I have a Ring camera so they could tell me the day and time and I could look.
Anyway, I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Perfect

I think your service is the fifth one I have tried. And though this may not sound like a compliment, it is. Your food is... normal. SO many of the other plans have such "fancy" approaches and thick with spices and richness that it just didnt work for me. I like comfortable food. It is comfort food and tastes great. Now, I love to try new things.. I even enjoy new spices and combinations.. but when I cook at home.. rarely do I go nuts. Your stuff is perfect.

I had to call because there is no way…

I had to call because there is no way to communicate with you via email or in writing at all, an online form would also be useful, (but not as good as email, unless we could also attach screenshots.)
I was changed am extra time (twice in 1 week) and asked for a refund.
Then someone else called and I could not hear them.
Then someone else called, interrupting me at a meeting, and I could not understand why, as the refund should have come through days ago.
I need confirmation in writing that my extra change was refunded.
Your food is good, but customer service - not so good.

Order at your own risk…

I only had this service for a few weeks and the problems started. After the third week, I was double billed in one week. Instead of using that extra billing for the next week’s food, they canceled the next week’s food altogether. I had to call multiple times in order to get them to push that charge to another week so I could get the food again. Nothing wrong with the meals, they were good, however there was a few times that I would get food that I did not order on the app. Twice they sent me food with brussels sprouts, and I hate brussels sprouts. I never ordered it, and if they run out of a meal, they should not choose a meal on their own, but instead just double up one of the meals I had already ordered. Finally this last time I was charged more than any other time, I canceled it on the app and over the phone and I was told I would get a refund, but then the food came in the mail. I was told by three different people there was no delivery set up for the last week and I would get a refund, but they lied about that apparently. I never got my money refunded but I did get the food order. Order at your own risk. I wasn’t even with this company for two months.

This company needs to be investigated…

This company needs to be investigated for stealing money. Please read through other reviews. They take money without providing the product and make it impossible to get a refund. I started with them in March. My first order I didn't receive the quantity I ordered or the right meals. The second order the meals were not right. So I canceled but they charged me anyways for the third. I never received anything for this. I called them back in April. They keep saying my refund is being processed. I'm going to be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. If you have had a similar experience, please do the same. They need to be shut down. They keep doing this to too many customers. I wonder how much money they have stolen already.

They will not give me a refund. So not use this company. They’re not a real company and only steal money and deceive their customers. They need to be reported for theft!

I think this food service is underrated

I think this food service is underrated.
I have tried 4 and this is the best. Food is fresh and well cooked with a few exceptions. One thing I particularly like is that items such as butter are not mixed in, so you have the option to use as much as you want.
A bit heavy on salt. Delivered on time.
Immense food selection.

I chose to cancel due to GI problems that restricted my diet a lot. I had NO trouble cancelling.
There is often no answer at customer service but they do return your call.

Great Meal Delivery Service

It's easy to customize my meal deliveries and they use BPA-free packaging. Food is of decent quality and meal selection is sufficient for me as I'm a picky eater. One issue they might need to address is package tracking, as I didn't receive my first package on a scheduled delivery date. When I called support, they immediately sent another package because they also thought the package had already been delivered, but it turned out the original package arrived late. Great assistance from support, but if we had a way to track our packages it would be less confusing!

PLEASE AVOID ORDERING FROM EAT CLEAN…

PLEASE AVOID ORDERING FROM EAT CLEAN AND SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF TROUBLE! I began ordering meals from Eat Clean a few weeks ago and the service seemed to be going pretty well. The food was good and fairly priced, but after three deliveries, I decided to take a break and skip a week. That is when all the trouble occurred to me. I was double charged for all three of my orders. I reached out by phone many times and then emailed about the fraudulent charges. All I got from them was false promises of receiving a return or getting a call back from a manager, with no results and no one ever calling back. They pretend to help, but avoid doing anything about it. I cancelled my account with them and unfortunately had to resort to filing fraud with my bank and shut off my old debit card to receive a new one. This has been a horrible experience.

After my spouse and I tried the orange chicken meal in my order we both developed the most painful food poisoning of your our lives. It was 12 hours of both vomit and diarrhea before we were able to function again regularly.

I need a reply ASAP. The poor meat quality was not only dry and unappetizing, it was actually poisonous! If I do not hear back we will have to report this health and safety violation.

I received my package and after trying a few meals I have been very disappointed. The meat every meal I’ve tried so far has been extremely dry to the point where I’ve had to have a jug of water next to me so I can keep drinking every bight just to get it down. I then had my spouse try a few meals and he confirmed the meat quality was extremely dry.

I’m not sure what we should do at this point? We ordered these meals to help us get through the week; however, after reviewing more than one, we cannot continue eating.

Beware!

Beware! The biggest scam I’ve ever encountered! To start, after about two weeks of getting meals, my third week was never received and my money was never refunded. After about a month, I again did not receive my order and I called and informed them that I wanted a refund for that week and to cancel my subscription. I went into the app and it wouldn’t cancel. I called back and she said that my subscription was cancelled, however, I was charged for the following week on a Wednesday! My card was never charged until the Saturday before the Monday delivery so why would they charge me for the upcoming week when they knew I cancelled my subscription. Have been calling and calling and emailing with no response. It should be against the law for a company to scam people this way. If you’re reading this review, do yourself a favor and try another, more trusted company because this one is pathetic to say the least. Consider yourself warned!

I signed up then decided I did not want…

I signed up then decided I did not want to order. Little did I know the sign up automatically generated an order. When I saw the withdrawal in my account, I immediately contact them. This was SEPT 24, 2024. Today is JULY 8 2025. In Sept they said the refund was processing. I forgot until Nov. Checked again via email, no response. Forgot again until 12, 2025. Emailed, called, sat on hold, was told it was being processed. Called again, emailed again, waiting waiting. Today, I'm told it truly was processed and i should see receipt within 7 days. I'll add more if I don't receive it. This was $119.19

Scammers, STAY AWAY

I’ve been waiting over 2 weeks now for a refund. I cancelled my subscription with them, and cancelled my delivery before it was shipped, and was told that I would receive a refund within 7-10 days but still have yet to receive it. I’ve emailed them twice for a status update on the refund, and they keep telling me they’ll check and get back to me but never do.

I have tried MANY meal delivery services and so far the meals from Eat Clean have been pretty tasty but the nutritional label is blatantly false. Hopefully the macros are correct to begin with but if you do the math on the macros they give, the calories are actually way higher than what’s listed on the label. This is totally illegal. I’m not sure how they are getting away with this
