Dreadful

Dreadful. Worst customer service ever … if you could call it a service in the first place. I bought an item, cost me £250, one wash and there was a hole. Customer service basically told me to go away. Don’t buy this brand

Nightmare buying from EF in the US

Nightmare buying from EF in the US. Too often things go astray. They are hopelessly slow in answering emails and then offer stupid suggestions.
I have just been asked to return two items I have not received for credit!
Equally I have not been sent a returns label for an item I did receive but did not order.
I could scream

Beware, you cannot change your email EVER

Here's how Eileen Fisher offers to change the email on the account:
- Opt out of marketing emails (and lose related bonuses), but still receive transactional emails on the account you want to disconnect. This counts as the 'change of email'!
Solution 2: Create a new account with a new email, losing all of your purchase history and all your bonuses that come with hundreds of $$ worth of purchases.

Eileen Fisher is the only company in U.S. and the free world I know that cannot change the email address on the account, i.e. simply replace one email with another. I'm not kidding.

Two stars for clothes quality, 0 stars for tech support. If you need to change your email, you are in trouble.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, impatient and rude, barely civil on the phone. I won’t buy from Eileen Fisher again based on this interaction with customer service. Who would spend the amount of money EF asks only to have someone scold and interrupt you when you call politely with a question about a return?

Don't order from UK if you have any doubt. Returning costs £40+ deducted from your refund!. Little help from customer service. I like EF clothes but won't be ordering any more.

Tip for consumers:
The difficulty in returning items from UK via DHL, no alternative given. Having to print 3 copies of way bills, invoice and label. Finding a DHL shop and then given conflicting information. Absolutely disgusting that having spent a fortune as a regular Eileen Fisher customer it costs £40 to return items.

Do not use PayPal with this company

For more than a year, Eileen Fisher has been unable to figure out how to properly issue PayPal refunds. Despite tutorials from PayPal and multiple customer complaints, Eileen Fisher is still issuing echeck refunds rather than credit card ones. Whether this is to skirt transaction fees, delay refunds, or practice simple incompetence, the company's inability to use the system is unacceptable. Either they should master the process or remove the payment option from their website. In the meantime, you've been warned to never use PayPal for payment if there's the slightest chance you'll be returning the item(s).

TERRIFIC LUXURY BRAND WITH LOTS OF GLITCHES

In general, I value EF's mission as a retailer--sustainable and so on. However, the quality and sizing of this luxury clothing brand is inconsistent. Some garments are wonderful--soft organic cotton, tensel, mixed blends. Some materials are awful. Clearly, there's a lack in quality control. I own much less expensive clothes that last many years while some of EF's don't last at all. I buy 90 percent of items online because its stores are quite small and have little sale inventory, which is all I buy. The sizing is inconsistent. I buy M or LP but never know how pants will fit. Tops, I have bought MP, S, M. I have RARELY been able to connect with customer service when I call. It's a return phone call, which they always do. Staff at my local EF are accommodating and cordial.

EF website is the worst as has been mentioned by another reviewer. I have pointed out the problems, but, obviously, they could care less. JJill's website would be a role model for them.

Finally, their marketing approach is odd. The sales are often fabulous with as much as 70 percent off, but the windows aren't wide and same items revert to a much higher price. It takes know-how and time to find an item at my price point. Nonetheless, my wardrobe since the pandemic is made up of mostly EF combined with JJill (much less expensive).

Buggy website & bad customer service

They had a bug on their website for some time. The "add to cart" button wasn't working in a chrome browser on any device. I work for a tech company... I know a bug when I see one. Because of this, I was unable to make a purchase during one of their sales. I asked for them to honor the original sale price & help me make the purchase another way. They could check the sale since I emailed them the same day as my issue.

Not only have they still not fixed the bug but they are not giving me any sort of assistance regarding the sale price and the gift for my mom. All they said is they'll help me pick something else out for her. They couldn't even send me a one-time payment link to make the purchase. Instead, I have to call them to make my purchase. Basically, I have to pay (literally) more for their mistake!

Seems like an antiquated e-shop with bad customer service. No matter the clothes quality, I will NOT be purchasing from them ever again.

the WORST service for the HIGHEST prices

Step right up if you like being infuriated and dismissed! Quick to take your $$$, but buyer beware: if there is a problem, all you get is “I’m sorry”, or “what do you want me to do?” So if you like a finger poked in your eye while being charged luxury prices, this is your place. Eileen could use to have a team meeting with her lackeys, before it’s too late

Just the Worst

The way this company treats its customers is beyond awful. They charge astronomical prices (which for some reason people, including occasionally me, actually pay) for thoroughly average items and then provide NO customer support. I made the critical mistake of using the return label they provided to return a top. I knew from experience that it would take about 60 days to get my money back (if the package reached them at all), but I did it anyway because I didn't have time to drive 65 miles to the nearest EF store. It's been WEEKS and according to tracking, it has not moved one inch from my local post office. I have e-mailed over and over begging for help; I know I will wait on hold for an hour before being disconnected if I call, so I'm not going to bother doing that. I plan on calling my bank and initiating a chargeback, because that's the only way I'll ever see my money again. Never, ever, ever again will I order anything from them. If you absolutely must have EF items, order them from Nordstrom, Saks, Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus, or other stores with good customer service. Avoid ordering directly from Eileen Fisher at all costs.

They also will not help you with articles of clothing that fall apart shortly after purchase. I also know this from experience. You'd think that spending all that money would get you a long-lasting item; you'd be wrong. The quality of their clothing has fallen drastically in the last decade, and I would know since I've been stupidly buying EF stuff since the 1990s.

Don’t order on line

I ordered a pair of trousers in my usual Eileen Fisher size on line for the first time. (I have several pairs in the same size purchased in store acquired over a few years). They didn’t fit and I had to exchange them. I was charged £35!! to return them via their returns system- not warned and given no alternative. I wrote to complain, got no response. Wouldn’t buy on line from them again and it’s put me off Eileen Fisher.

Great company

The London stores in the UK are all great. Great customer service and the products are fantastic. A bit expensive but I always get lots in their sales. Everything I've had has been excellent quality. Love the sustainable fabrics.

For returns customer service is non…

For returns customer service is non existent. Phones are not answered. Email give automated responses. The chat feature is pathetic. A month and counting has passed for returns not being processed. The only communication thru chat put the blame on the pandemic for the delay. You give them a tracking number they claim they can’t pull up the info even though you just pulled it up. Problem is this has been happening as far back as 2018 also sooooooo...... They give you a “smart label” to use for returns. After I contacted USPS I find that this is a cheap way companies handle return. I have no problem with that except that your return package with other packages sits at USPS waiting for the agent from the company to come pick them up. Representatives claim they are short handed and can’t give any update whatsoever but they are still processing orders. So I have no idea if or when I’ll get my refund processed. Like I said before I found comments about EF where customers had to wait a long time before their returns were processed (before the pandemic). I’m going to see if my bank can start and investigation....
