A great experience for fans but very limited

We love emmerdale, and we havw always wanted to go to see where it was filmed. We have recently been and we really enjoyed it. Its smaller than you actually think. But it's all to do with cameras and wide angle lenses. But itt was great to see it.

However, you are very very limited to what you can see.

1. You have to stay with in the group you cant freely walk off or wonder off.

2. You cant touch anything, but I get this for filming and continuity reasons.

3. You can't go where the dingles live like as I really wanted to see this. You can see where they live from the coach but you cant actually see the back bit. I wanted to have a good look at kevs meal van but again we wernt allowed in the carpark only way to see this is by coach even then its very quick

4. We wanted to see the stables( of the tates) and kalebs firm. Only way you can see these locations is very quickly by coach but you have to be quick to see it.

Overall its a great experience if you love emmerdale and is a must for fans.

Very very disappointed

Very very disappointed, arrived today for 11am tour , lovely blonde lady jumped aboard our tour bus she sermed fun and thought oh this will be great, then she announced another guide was taking us around, we were given light pink wristbands and told to wait in the canteen / gift shop area ,we were left hanging around not really knowing what to do for about 15/20 mins , then we were called to go outside, and meet the guide , she explained the dos and don't and we set off on foot to the village , sorry to say but she was mundane and boring, there was no banter, no laughs, no interaction nothing!!! , we were then told we could literally just walk around the village not go in anywhere , not even step on the grass ,we thought at least we would be able to pop in the woolpack, but no, Nothing there is really used for filming internal scenes apart from the vets, but couldn't even go.in there as it was set up for filming on Monday. And unless you had paid or wanted to pay for photos, you were told to wait to take your own photos , while others who wanted professional ones had photos , Both myself and my daughter found the whole tour experience very underwhelming and quite frankly the tour guide rubbish , she didnt interact with anyone ,she didn't ask if anyone had questions, she didnt make jokes or had a laugh, it was all very scripted , and matter of fact . We spoke to 3 orher people on the tour ,who said they felt the same as us, one lady even commented she had lost intrest in the tour guide by the time we walked from the canteen to the village, .we did the corrie tour in May and that was absolutely outstanding.and the tour guide scott was exceptionall funny , informative, and so personable and my goodness was he passionate about his job.
We spent roughly only 40 mins in the village, then we reached the cafe and woolpack which again were all shut up and were told thats the end of tour, make your way back to the canteen and await your coach , so we all waked back up and again were left hanging around the canteen with no instructions of what to do , after 15 mins we headed outside with other's from our group to see if the coach was there, the bus turned up and it was like a free for all ,people pushing and shoving to get on, all with different wristbands pink grey and yellow we were told to only stay with your own group but that was impossible, there was absolutely no organisation, that bus filled up and left and we were informed another coach would be there in 10 mins, so been at the front of the queue, we waited for the next coach, 25 mins passed and no coach the lady at canteen came out and apologised twice and kept saying coach will be here soon , by now the queue was building again for the next coach, with people trying to push to the front to get on the coach first , we stood for 45 mins before another coach turned up, and everyone just darted for it . They need a member of staff overseeing the queues, and directing people to their correct coach's, not allowing, everyone to push forward, so intimidating, especially if your older or nervous or less mobile ,We felt incredibly disheartened with the whole tour experience and sorry wouldn't recommend it at all .

The groups were way too big and should of been split into smaller groups, and taken around seperatly, it was impossible to get decent photos and just felt so completely overwhelming and quite frankly a waste of money . As an avid emmerdale fan, I was so incredibly excited to do the tour but left extremly disappointed .

Slightly disappointed

The tour group seemed to be too many people at once, to meet an actor from the programme (which you pay extra for ) I wasn't disappointed with the actor I met. group split into 2, so I missed out on seeing the bridge & graves of passed characters, had photo's taken outside of the woolpack & café, have to buy on the day, says online they are available for 30 days (not true) mine have been deleted after only 24 days,

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

The booking system is diffilicult and communication with this company is beyond ZERO. We booked our trip, which was no mean feat, and because of medical reasons we need to change the date. This seemed easy enough until we got to submit, and were told our voucher had expired. No it hadn't, it expires in November. I tried to send an email explaining this to them & asking them to contact me, but when I pressed submit, an error warning came up, which I couldn't read. The trip might be great but the company running it just want your money and you can't email them or call any of the numbers as they don't man the phones. I was going to book Coronation Street for next year, but my stress levels are that high now, I won't put myself through this again.

Well what can I say

Well what can I say, from an EASTENDERS fan. This was so much more fun than I was expecting, Gary our guide was a #legend at his job. I will be watching more from today Monday the 18th of May. The whole day was excellent, from free entry to Harewood House which is amazing 🤩. Free parking, free coach and free fun and entertainment from ( I will mention him again) Gary….. the window cleaner, paramedic. And we met Natalie Robb (Moira) she was so naturally friendly and easy to talk to. All in all, a new Emmerdale fan has been added.

What a great day!

What a great day!
I am not a regular viewer but my partner is and she has wanted to do the Emmerdale tour for a long time. From start to finish everyone we met from reception to sales assistants were brilliant, so friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. In particular though we would like to highlight our tour guide Gary - he was superb with stories and anecdotes, a brilliant sense of humour and he was so patient with our group. Gary made the whole experience one which we will remember for years to come (and in particular I will now join my partner in watching every episode with a totally new perspective and understanding). Thank you so much Gary …we hope you will get ‘promoted’ to a more prominent role too 🤞😊

Not for wheelchair users 🙁

We went on this tour yesterday and our guide was the lovely Lisa! She was absolutely fantastic, very knowledgeable about everything to do with Emmerdale, and I hope she sees this 😊🫶🏼
The village is beautiful and we loved seeing everything as a huge emmerdale fan!! Our star guest was Mackenzie he was so so nice & friendly, you can take your own photos so you don’t need to pay for a professional to take them.

My only downside was I’m a wheelchair user and cannot walk, I need my wheels to get around and I can honestly say it isn’t wheelchair friendly at all. I knew there was a bit of tough terrain as I had read up a little on it before hand, but the gravel was just far too deep and the wheels got stuck constantly which was disappointing 😢 luckily we had a few strong men on our tour to push me out when I got stuck. It’s a shame as I’ve now seen quite a few reviews on here about this problem and if the gravel was less thick it would have been more manageable.
Maybe something for the tour to look into or even make it smooth underfoot as I’m sure it wouldn’t alter the effect of the ‘farm look’ on camera. Plus I think the cast would appreciate a flatter surface when filming to be honest.
Many thanks.

Amazing experience, don’t let the negative reviews put you off!

Honestly, I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews, some people are just impossible to please! Me and my family had such a lovely time. We went for Mother’s Day and had Mel as our tour guide, and she was absolutely amazing.

She went above and beyond to make sure everyone was included. We didn’t personally have a wheelchair, but there were people in our group who did, and she made accommodations for them and constantly checked in to make sure they were okay. It wasn’t just that though, she made sure no one got left behind and kept the whole group together.
On top of that, her jokes were hilarious and really made the experience even more enjoyable. You could tell she genuinely cared about everyone having a good time.

Thank you so much for such a lovely day, Mel and the crew!

Wrist band operatives.

Unfortunately the tour was spoilt by the two girls handing out the wrist bands.
We arrived 1040 am for the 11 coach I gave the two my details and received our wrist bands, they informed me it wasn't the coach that was waiting but the next one.
As it turns out I should of checked with the drive, he was well aware of the problems these two were causing.
According to the driver the usual lady that organises the bands was off and Unfortunately for us they had the two undertrained staff who really didn't kniw what was going on. We had to wait well over an hour for the next coach at this point there was a argument that we had blue not pink wrist bands at which point after i had informed the driver we had waited over an hour he ran over to the girls. On his return he informed us to get on the coach. He explained the problem that the usual lady was off for her birthday.
Due to my life having a knee injury the waiting around in the cold made the rest of the tour difficult.
The tour itself is very good but please train your staff so they don't ruin the experience for others.

May I suggest a Coach with a wheelchair…

May I suggest a Coach with a wheelchair lift is used in future to enable full time wheelchair users to access the tour. I was going as part of my 50th Birthday celebrations but can't get on the coach, or get in/out of a normal car and taxis aren't allowed. Very disappointed.
