Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 39 reviews, reviewers had a great experience with this company. Customers frequently praise the incredibly friendly staff and exceptionally knowledgeable tour guides who always make the entire trip fun, engaging, and truly memorable. Visitors also love the stunning village location, noting that exploring the authentic sets brings the popular television show wonderfully to life. However, some people mentioned significant difficulties with the overall organization of coach transfers and experienced long waiting times between different tour segments. A few other reviewers also felt that the deep gravel pathways caused unexpected mobility issues, making it rather challenging for guests to move around comfortably.

Misleading booking guidelines for Disabled

Very disappointed with the booking system and lack of communication leading up to the tour.
I booked this joint tour of Emmerdale and Coronation St for my disabled friend for her birthday. It reads on their booking system that you have to prove you’re the carer, which I’m not, but for the day of these tours I am! Therefore, I booked 2 regular tickets and leading up to the date of the tour contacted the customer service email to inform them that my friend was in a wheelchair. They said they would amend the booking manually which they didn’t. When we arrived I had to explain the circumstances. Mark at the checking in hut was very helpful and recognised that we had no chance of getting on the coach and provided us with an alternative to drive there which we did.
The tour operatives both Paul and Rob were fantastic and that is what deserves the 1 star. Booking system is misleading which cost me double the price but more importantly the customer service response was dire!
People in regular wheelchairs will struggle unless you have a very strong person pushing you.
We haven’t used the Coronation St experience yet. Let’s hope that day is more accommodating for the disabled.

The guided tour was ace, that’s where it ends!

The actual guided tour around the village and the meeting the star (Chas) was brilliant. The tour guide we had, Paul, was fantastic. So knowledgeable. No question was too much for him to answer and we asked a fair few. He made it really fun and told us really interesting facts. I really cannot praise him enough. I would love to spend more time in his company, purely to just sit and listen to him. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 review for him, without a shadow of doubt.

Sadly, we cannot say the same for before and after the tour. Our tour time was 11.45am. When we arrived at the Harewood House estate we were directed to a little hut on the car park. We checked in and were given wrist bands. That was it. We just followed the crowd with the same colour wrist bands as us and we ended up on the correct departure coach. The coach departed at 11.55am and we arrived at the secret location at 12.10pm. The coaches, wow! Not fit for purpose at all. The seat size is child size nothing more, and the aisle, wow, let’s hope no one needs to depart the coach in a hurry/emergency!! I’d say H&S would have a lot to say about them.

We didn’t buy any souvenirs at the check-in hut as we’d been told there was a ‘shop’ on site. However, when we arrived at the secret location in the facilities building (building used by the cast and crew in the week for brews/food) the WiFi was allegedly ‘down’ and weren’t able to operate the tills/take any form of payment and were told to buy them back at Harewood or via the ITV online shop! Strangely though, we were all able to connect to WiFi whilst we sat waiting for our tour guide to collect us. At 12.40pm, Paul greeted our group and we took the slow short walk into ‘Emmerdale’. We arrived in the village at 12.50pm and left at 14.50pm.

Like I said, the tour was ace!! Lucy Pargeter (Chas) was so welcoming to all the group. Gave a lovely talk and had photos taken with everyone there. We spent a hell of a lot of time in the village and for us was worth the money. Weather was great too so it really was a fantastic tour. I must say though that if you are not doing the star tour, you do not go into any of the buildings of the set. The only building you go in is the village hall if you’ve booked that star tour. You can see into the vets/Rhona’s house and the garage. The Hop/Hide you can see over the gate from the facilities car park but it is locked off and you are not permitted in that area. Videoing is not permitted in the village but you can take as many photos as you wish. We took loads!

After the village tour we went back to the facilities building to wait for our coach back to Harewood check-in point, with the intention of buying David’s shop bag and a few other things, but when we got back there, there was nothing except the souvenir guide!! Wouldn’t you think that knowing the WiFi was allegedly ‘down’ that they’d send the other books, bags and other bits and pieces, down to the coach check point so people could buy them afterwards.

The poor guy at the check-in point just kept repeating himself saying ‘I don’t know what’s going on, it’s only my first day here’. We felt so bad for him. He’d been left on his own, and was having to deal with everyone coming back who were then complaining that there was no stock left. I can’t begin to imagine the amount of money they lost in sales yesterday. But we were all offered a free drink at the facilities building, tea/coffee/hot chocolate/water as a peace offering!!

There were several people in our group in wheelchairs, all of which we saw struggling on the gravelled section. One elderly lady in particular was being pushed by her daughter and the wheels embedded in the gravel. My strapping husband was walking in front and luckily turned around to stop the lady propelling out of her chair as the wheels were stuck. I must therefore highlight that the vast majority of the village is most definitely not suitable for wheelchairs users.

What a great day

Booked this for my mums 80th birthday and paid extra to meet a cast member. Had a lovely walk around Harewood House which was lovely bonus to the tour. On arrival we where met by our guide Serena who was a breath of fresh air very bubbly and friendly. As we went around Serena was very knowledgeable and through out questions to the group which was great as it took you down memory lane with everything that has happened in the show over lthe years that you had forgotten . The icing on the cake was meeting Joe Warren Plant (Jacob) so down to earth such a lovely young man who wished my mum a happy birthday which made my mums day. Definitely a must if you fancy a great experience

It was a good day out

It was a good day out, staff were really nice and the star we met Laurel was chatty and friendly. We were all disappointed that all the buildings were just empty shells and we couldn't even go in the famous Woolpack. Overall not really worth the money

An excellent tour

An excellent tour well presented by a knowledgeable tour guide covering all the main outdoor tv set.
Total freedom to wander around the site but no internal access to individual buildings. A perfect photo opportunity for the enthusiast.

Emmerdale Village Tour

Organisation. Calibre and delivery of the tour guide, Sue. What could have been a fairly bland and factual experience, was delivered with humour, anecdote and in-depth knowledge - all in all a very worthwhile visit. Recommended

Our 2nd visit but this time meeting a cast member. Everything is very well organised from start to finish. Our guide Rob was really good, funny and very knowledgeable. He was asked loads of questions and nothing was a bother to him. Meeting Lisa Riley was an amazing experience. Such a lovely lady. She signed my Emmerdale Guide and took pictures with us. She was very chatty. Highly recommended.

Poor communication around pick up point

I had an emmerdale tour booked for 5th October and was advised to meet at Weetwodd Hall. Having travelled from Birmingham for the experience via public transport and meticulously planning the routes and timings, I was extremely disappointed to find that Weetwood hall is no longer a pick up location.

I then incurred a lot of additional costs to travel over to Harewood house. I was fortunately able to join a later tour but I found that the member of staff at Harewood house did not seem interested and did not acknowledge the fact that there had been a miscommunication or that others may have also been affected.

The tour itself was interesting and our tour guide Holly was great. I did find it disappointing that you do not get to see any of the sets or inside any of the buildings. Essentially, this is a walking tour only, and for all of the inconvenience I experienced I am unsure if it truly was worth the money, time and effort put in.

I have since attempted to complain about this experience but two months later I have had no response or acknowledgement.

Emmerdale Tour - you need to up your customer service game!!!
