Had a fixed term with them and have now been able to remortgage to a high street bank. I didn’t have any problems over the last 5 years. Remortgage went smoothly and they returned an overpayment within 7 days. The portal is poor. I would think that in the 21st century, you should be able to see your account on line like you can with any other lender. Poor! Overall, I was satisfied, but glad to have been able to escape a SVR of 9.4%!

Engage bought my mortgage from Kensington. Our rate has gone sky high which has caused financial struggles to a point we have to sell our house. Our redemption figure has not taken into account and not applied any discount whatsoever so ever. What appals me the most is my interest only mortgage of 130k have raised to 180k in a short period of time! These are loan sharks and rip off merchants!!

All about Edith

Engage representative Edith is exceptionally good at her job. I've no strong opinions of Engage one way or the other, they're a mortgage firm so not much to get excited about, but her empathy and professionalism is exemplary. I appreciate her assistance very much.

Worst Company ever. Don't answer phone calls ,emails or on their portal. They will now respond to this post with their standard reply "get in touch" which you cant do because they cannot be bothered to respond to Mortgage Prisoners like me.

Disgraceful company

My mortgage was transferred to engage from Kensington. I had switched to a new product with Kensington as they had identified me as a mortgage prisoner and put me on a lower rate for the rest of the term of the mortgage. Engage credit have never applied this as they said that i am not a mortgage prisoner even though Kensington had identified me as one. They are absolute sharks and my case is now with the financial ombudsman. They also have not passed any interest rate reduction on to my account even though the LVR and the BBR has gone down. i am sure that no one ever would choose this company by choice. They prey on people with poor credit who are in difficulty. I am still paying over 9.3% a month . How they are allowed to practice is absolutely absurd

Poor old dad ill can’t pay mortgage…

Poor old dad ill can’t pay mortgage can’t surrender property these guys now have his payments over £1000 per month they refusing his minimum payment from direct debt and increasing rate. 27 months left on payments forecasting £175,000 debt for an 80k bungalow, to a vulnerable man we’ve tried via solicitors to solve this to no avail. Total wall built between us and them there only interest atm seems to be to maximise the debts and intrest.tried to resolve this over the last two years spiralling out of control now. Dad has no means to communicate can’t even speak or comprehend any of this.

Property is empty and not been lived in since 2021. They will never recover this money but continue to drag the process out. Avoid engage, pepper and Kensington. They will not be getting any more money out of him due to his medical conditions, we will not pay yous. You will have to come and take it away. Yous will not get another pence out of us.

Edit to reply…… we have filled forms in to act as beneficiaries, which yous have rejected twice via solicitors, also tried calling to discuss numerous times, access denied. We are playing the same long game now waiting for repossession.

Credit reporting

I took out my mortgage with Pepper Money.

I found a letter sent to me at the property after my tenants left and the keys handed back to us.
It was telling me that the mortgage rate had gone up. I made arrangements for a payment plan until the property was sold which they agreed to back up with a letter.
They phoned me twice and I told them that I do not speak to a company which asks about my money. (It could be a fraud)

Now the mortgage has been paid off my wife has tried to get a car loan and refused because her credit score has been affected by the mortgage being not paid when we were paying the agreed payments before the date required.

I would not recommend this company

Well Engage Credit flagged my recent post however it has been reviewed and put back up for people to see how this lender/servicer operates which is horrendous! I’ve noticed that Engage Credit constantly confirm they are only a mortgage servicer so I decided to contact the FCA who also don’t know what they are 🤔 I received a LIBOR consent form to sign stating quite clearly they are the lender (which I can provide) however previous correspondence they state they are only a mortgage servicing company (which I can provide). Numerous decisions by FOS state that they are a mortgage service company 🤔

1 star is far too high a score

1 star is far too high a score, my mortgage costs have gone up £700 p/month. I had tried to change my mortgage but this was blocked by pepper money & engage therefore the true increase in monthly mortgage costs is around £1,100. had a deal for £800, now being charged £1,900. Why are the FCA not interested in this? consumer duty is worthless!

No desire to provide fair or reasonable solutions

If it was possible to score zero stars this is what Engage Credits customer support approach deserves. This company shows no credible desire to make any decision that serves to actually help struggling customers and is clearly set up purely to profiteer from the unfairly levied criminally high interest rates they are getting away with charging on many mortgages.
If they can not make the necessary variations to offer help when it is needed then they are little more than a litigation in waiting service and should be hauled up and directed to fulfill their consumer duties to a much more ethical standard by the financial regulators. I truly hope the litigation by the mortgage prisoners group brings about the desperate change needed in this mortgage sector so us more broadly defined trapped customers can get start to get access to the fair rates and service we should have had many years ago from our “lenders” or in Engage Credits case “servicer”.
If Engage can’t or won’t provide what customers need they should be directed to transfer customer accounts to companies that can!

If I could give zero stars I would our mortgage was bought by engage. In the last 2 years our payment has increased by over £400 per month. We have been interest only with them due to financial issues for a number of years. We contacted them regarding the fact we now only have 6 years left on the mortgage and have no way of repaying the mortgage at the end of the time and asked them could we extend the term in order to repay to be told” We don’t do that” extremely helpful not!! We are now unsure what to do next as will be unlikely be able to remortgage with anyone else and are looking at losing our home in 6 years time

Moving goalposts

Absolutely awful company to deal with. They took over my mortgage and it has been a nightmare ever since. I took a mortgage break with the previous company and was paying it off monthly as agreed. After a phone call with engage after they took on my account, the previous agreement was accepted. Then the goalposts moved as they were putting charges on my account meaning it would no longer be paid off by the term end. I increased my payments and the same happened again. Another phone call and all sorted, or so I thought. They then had the nerve to send a representative to my house. Again all explained and sorted, and I increased the payments again. Then the letters started again. I have emailed them twice now stating that I will only communicate via email so that I have a log. No reply to the email, but plenty of calls from them while at work, when I am unable to answer. I can only imagine that this is what dealing with a loan shark is like.
