Unhelpful mortgage provider

Unhelpful mortgage provider. Don’t buy a house using then even if that is the last option you have. My by to let mortgage was transfered to them by peper homeloan. What a sad big mistake. They are very patronising, and make suggestions that would damage your credit report. Very very bad organisation.

Finally Over!

After a long hard struggle since Northern Rock let a lot of customers down I have finally paid off my mortgage, its been very stressful for all the Northern rock customers and although I didnt like the idea of Engage Credit taking over my account for Grasmere Mortgage who bought it from Northern Rock, I must admit at first it was very difficult to get through to Engage credit but the last few years they have been really helpful and the agents have been very pleasant,I cant wait to get the deeds to my house delivered and to finally stop stressing over finances,, to all you who have been in my position being elderly and struggling every month just look forward to when you are mortgage free its a wonderful feeling,

My husband died june 22

My husband died june 22, engage have continued to add interest on his account, even while everything was frozen in probate. Had the same issues other people appear to have had with not being able to discuss the account because I'm not a named person. The executors have had to jump through hoops to prove they can act on my late husbands behalf.
Now waiting on a final settlement but unless they remove the interest of over 1k I will be taking them to the small claims court. Do not use this company, the service is terrible!

Kind and understanding staff

Been struggling for several months since losing my job. Unable to meet monthly payments, I requested help. Have spoken to several members of staff the most recent of whom was Laura. Every one of them were professional and kind, being understanding of my situation and allaying my fears, allowing me time to try and sort out my problem. Any potential consequences were clearly explained but support of a customer was paramount.

Engage Credit is one of the worse…

Engage Credit is one of the worse companies I had a misfortune to deal with.

Since Sept 22, when my account was transferred from Masthaven to Engage Credit, they are declaring on my credit file that I am one payment of £ 1226.34 in arrears!

I presented very clear evidence to my case several times of the opposite.

I sent to them statements proving all payments made even highlighted each payment in different colours to help them identify and add up each monthly payment.

However they still comeback to me saying I am one payment in arrears!

How can a company like this deal with Mortgages!? It seems they don't know how to count!

Its been literally one year and they still not able to solve the problem.

I spent hours during 1 year period explaining step by step even calculating with members of the staff each payment of every month over the phone and they say they will investigate and come back with the same answer!?

Is like I am dealing with dumb people! The finance department cannot count, and the complaints team don't know how to Investigate!.. Even when something is extremely obvious!!

How can a company operate like this!?

They are damaging my credit file reporting to the credit reference agencies for 12 months that I am in arrears.

I clearly showed to them several times that I am not!!!

They are not fully regulated by the FCA.

I will take my case to a lawyer for emotional distress and damages!

But on the 14th my account had been defraud of aro3und £3,000 . I then eventually got back to Engage. They refused to help saying I had confirmed the payment which I was definitely not.i got in touch with police fraud squad also have got in touch with FOS and are looking into it. I have started a petition against this company, and will shortly be distributing the petition address. The intention is to bring it to the attention of the government the callous way they treat people and families.
I considered taking my own life at the mercy of this company and only now 6 years later started to muster the strength to tackle them! Watch this space !!

So all documents have been submitted to the FOS.
Kensington are sending my DSAR request out, and Engage are still withholding information. No full and final mortgage agreement showing fees and insurances. No proof of terms and conditions of sale between Kensington and Engage, even though a solicitor asked me to request them.

County Court papers have been downloaded and documents added to my claim. Once the FOS findings come back, to which I know for a fact they will find in my favour the main piece of evidence, the claim is being filed with the Birkenhead Magistrates Court.Details will be stated when I have filed.

Credit where credit’s due

People give these companies a hard time and never give credit where credit’s due.
My experience is the latter, and Leah in Rossendale was today so kind, caring, helpful and friendly.
Thank you Engage - keep up the good work!

Room for improvement, but be kind .

My mortgage was originally with Masthaven and then they pulled out of the mortgage market last year ( don’t blame them ! ) They sold my account to Engage who were not quite so efficient in their communication and when my fixed term ran out , they got muddled with new payments . To be fair , I think they’ve had a lot of older accounts ‘ dumped ‘ on them and are finding it hard . Yes , they are difficult to get hold off , and who isn’t these days ! The times I did get through , they were very courteous and apologetic and resolved the issues that I had . They then kept me updated with changes to my payments and when I moved house , the solicitor had prompt responses with regards to mortgage redemption figures .
I can’t comment on their efficiency going forward with the mortgage crisis , but I’m sure they are relieved that there is one less account to deal with . I’m so glad that I managed to get it paid off before the …,, hit the fan . Give them a break , they’ve got an incredibly difficult job . Be kind !

If I could give zero stars I would.
The WORST company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Their name “engage” are even a joke as it is absolutely impossible to engage with them at all!
Having called and called numerous times, even receiving a letter saying they have called us (false) we still cannot speak to a manager who promised to deal with our complaints. Avoid like the plague

RUN AWAY! SHARKS!

Don't deal with Engage unless you have to.

Have just told us in writing that they won't provide us with a mortgage prisoner letter because they don't have to. They said that due to the age of our mortgage, the FCA regulations don't apply to us.

So that means - they won't do the right thing because they don't HAVE to. Even though morally they know that they SHOULD.

Disgusting company. I've made the FCA aware.

Edited to address Engage's reply: Been there, done that, no help whatsoever. This was after a formal complaint and your final response letter, so there's really little point in talking to you any further. The FOS is involved now.
