Laurence tutored my son for 10 weeks before he took his GCSE’s. My son got a 3 for English in his year 11 mocks and he got 5 for both English exams in his GCSEs today! Other, more expensive tutors, I approached told me I’d left it too late to make any difference.
As a result of Laurence’s tutoring my son is going to the 6th form place he had his heart set on.
I urge you to trust in Laurence’s approach, it is unique and it works. He knows exactly where your child is at and what to do to get them to achieve their best in the time he has available.
My son enjoyed his sessions and loved that Laurence took an interest in him as a person and his hobbies.
Other qualified teacher tutors are much more expensive and dont have this approach which Laurence has to a tee.

When I started with Laurence, I had little understanding of how to write and what the exam board wanted from me. After a couple of weeks I quickly improved and started to realise what I needed to write to get those top marks. Overall his approach to teaching is excellent. He is always there with a positive attitude and never makes you feel bad for not understanding or knowing what to do and genuinely wants to help you achieve your full potential. It is 100% worth it as it does not only increase your grade, but it increases your confidence and boosts your other subjects as well. Thank you Laurence for your support!

Laurence has been a brilliant tutor for my son. He was really struggling but with Laurence's help and guidance, he has achieved the grades he needs and exceeded expectations. My son enjoyed every lesson with Laurence and especially his style and approach. I would highly recommend. Thank you so much Laurence (and I'm sure we'll be in touch when our youngest son needs a little help).

Laurence's tutoring has been totally transformative for my autistic son who has gone from a 4/5 in his mocks in Year 10 to a level 8 in Year 11 mocks. He has gained so much more confidence in his writing and his ability to express his thoughts and this has also had a positive impact on his other non STEM subjects.
My son and I are very grateful and glad we found Laurence!

My son thrived with Laurence's tutoring. From hating the subject and predicted 5/4 he developed his understanding and achieved a 7/6. This was in the space of 4 months.
Laurence was clear with his feedback and development points expanding on my son's ideas rather then trying to make him work on concepts he hadn't picked up himself.
Would highly recommend.

Absolutely thrilled with the progress my daughter made under Laurence’s guidance. She went from predicted grades of 6/6 to actual results of 8/8. She was only 3 marks off attaining a 9 in Literature. Utterly delighted and fully rate Laurence; particularly if your child approaches studies in a more mathematical and logical way. We cannot praise him enough!

I would highly recommend Laurence as an English teacher. His teaching methods and the two hour sessions really work. They helped build up our daughter’s confidence and knowledge of how to approach the exam questions. She also completed the exam papers that Laurence wrote and his feedback was invaluable. After getting a 3 in English Literature and a 4 in English Language in some mocks we decided to get her some help and she started with Laurence in the December before her GCSEs. Our daughter then got a 5 in English Literature and a 6 in English Language which she is delighted with, as are we. Thank you so much Laurence for all your help!

Laurence is an excellent teacher who helped my son immensely. He improved his self confidence immediately and taught him how to answer the questions to a high standard.
My son felt extremely comfortable during his 2 hour lessons and felt Laurence gave him the time and tools he needed to progress. We can't thank Laurence enough for his amazing techniques and guidance. I can't praise him enough.

Laurence is an amazing English teacher. His style of working with the student is unique and it most definitely works!! It ensures your child gains confidence in the subject.
My son was always achieving grade 5/6 and no matter how hard he worked, he couldn't get past these grades. He started to lose interest and hated the subject.
He started his tuition with Laurence in Year 10 and as year progressed we noticed he start to grow in confidence & his grades improved.
My son was predicted 7/8 in both English Language & Literature but achieved grade 9 in both !! He couldn't have achieved this without Laurence's help.
Thank you Laurence, We very much appreciate all you did for our son.

Laurence has provided excellent tuition to both my sons for their language and literature GCSEs. Suffice to say that both did very well and we all agree that Laurence's lessons went a long way in securing their grades! I highly recommend Laurence to anyone seeking improvement in their English study.

Fabulously effective teaching methods used to rapidly improve students progress in what can prove a tricky subject to gain the higher grades. My son gained a huge amount of confidence in dealing with the exam questions after only a few weekly sessions, and I was amazed at how quickly he started to understand exactly how to answer the questions using the correct language techniques, etc. Don't bother to look elsewhere, but the student must be fully commited to regular sessions in Year 10 and or Year 11.

Laurence is the best English teacher. Don’t look elsewhere! His style of working with the student is unique and is perfect for not only ensuring your child gains confidence in the subject, but will transform their grades to a much higher level than you will expect. My daughter was predicted two 6s and achieved two outstanding 9s! At the beginning of her GCSEs, English was her worst subject and gave her the most concern. At the time of taking the GCSEs, English proved to be one of the subjects she had the most confidence in. Need l say more!
A huge thank you. We are all delighted.

I would like to thank Lawrence for everything he has done. Our son got a 2 and 3 for his mocks at the beginning of the year and was not going to be able to go into 6th form like he wanted so I went out looking for a tutor. In the 5 months Lawrence has worked with him, we have received his results and has now managed two 6's in his English which has meant meant he is not just going to 6th form but has upgraded the A levels he is now sitting. We can't thank you enough for everything you have done.

When Laurence started tutoring my son in January he was predicted 3/4s in both English Language and Literature and his teacher said his level was a 4 at the most. Fast forward to the GCSEs six months later and through Laurence's expert guidance he achieved a 7 in Language and a 5 in Literature which is absolutely amazing. Laurence managed to take a disillusioned boy and showed him how to engage with the subjects so he actually enjoyed the subjects and looked forward to his tutor sessions as he felt he was achieving something. Thank you Laurence, we couldn't be more grateful for your help!

Laurence is an excellent English tutor. My son is more naturally mathematical, finding English lessons in school difficult to follow. He studied during Y10 and Y11 with Laurence, finding the lessons logical, the approach to questions structured (suiting his mathematical brain) and easy to remember. To all our surprise he really enjoyed and looked forward to the lessons (I had expected a reluctant learner!) and he now misses his 2 hours with Laurence. Before Laurence, his grades were 4/5. He got an 8 in language and 7 in literature! We couldn’t be more please for him and are so grateful to Laurence as it would not have happened without his guidance. Thank you Laurence

I would 100% recommend Laurence as he helped my daughter very much. Initially, in her mocks, she was predicted 6s in both English Language and Literature, but managed to get high 8s in both due to his carefully planned out lessons and great teaching style. My daughter said his lessons were also enjoyable and she found them extremely useful, therefore I would definitely recommend Laurence.

Laurence made a huge difference. I can't recommend him enough. My son achieved a grade 5 in language and literature from a grade 3 in his mocks. This was undoubtedly down to the expert knowledge imparted through his lessons with Laurence. My son was struggling to learn from his teacher at school and was very disheartened but these lessons really improved his confidence.
Your child will definitely gain a lot of knowledge but also belief in themself.

My son received excellent support from Laurence. Being gifted in Maths, he struggled with some aspects of English Language and English Literature. We saw Lawrence's fantastic testimonials and his vast knowledge and experience and decided to book up weekly English lessons 3 months before his GCSE exams.
With Laurence's continued guidance, support and positivity, my son's confidence in his own ability started to grow.
His weekly practice lessons with Laurence paid off and with some determination, he began producing good quality work. Laurence helped him understand what was required in order to achieve well in his English GCSE's.
The results were fantastic - grade 7 (A) for both English Language and English
Literature! We were all absolutely thrilled and very proud.
Thankyou Laurence!

My son is very strong in maths and sciences and English is the subject he is least interested and finds it difficult. With8 months to go for GCSE, it turned into a panic. I was specially looking for a tutor who teaches English to pupils who are strong in maths and science but weak in English.
Laurence was a perfect and a brilliant tutor! He worked on my son’s weaknesses and strength and gave him lots of encouragement to boost his confidence. At the time of exam he was very confident and after every English exam he came home with a big smile telling me he applied ‘Laurence’s formula’.
From low grade 7 in both literature and language in mocks to grade 8 in both language and literature and missing grade 9 for 1 mark and 4 marks in English literature and language respectively is a huge achievement. It became possible only because of Laurence’s help and guidance.
Thank you Laurence 🙏🏼

My daughter was predicted to achieve a grade 4 in her English mocks. We wanted to do something to help her and luckily we found Laurence.
My daughter was capable in mathematics but the freedom and creativity one needs in English seemed difficult for her. Laurence teaches technique and structure that can benefit children like this, and the end result was truly revelatory. Her teachers at school noticed the improvement and began to use her work as an example and had her help her peers.
She achieved a 7 in English Language and an 8 in Literature. Moreover, the confidence and skills she learned with Laurence had a knock on effect to other subjects and she generally achieved excellent results in all subjects which was a delight to her, and of course, us.
If you need a tutor for your child I very much doubt you will find better. Every penny we invested into her tuition was money well spent, and in fact, I consider it tremendous value for money. What price your child’s future?
My child enjoyed her time with Mr. Dalton and looked forward to her lesson each week.
Incidentally, she was diagnosed as being dyslexic towards the end of her time at school, so know that good teaching and support can diminish the impact of this.
I will always be grateful to Laurence for what he helped my daughter to achieve and I would do it again in a heartbeat if I had to. Look no further, you have found the best English tutor for your child.
