Appalling

Appalling - I need information which only a call will provide. I have been "on hold" for ONE HOUR AND TEN MINUTES - and I have put the phone down. I genuinely don't believe there is anyone answering these calls - they just hope you go away. This today has been enough to convince me to leave E.on. Disgusting.

Eon.....2 days and hours of listenig to, we are sorry to keep you waiting!

Eon.....2 days and hours of listening to, "we are sorry to keep you waiting etc etc".... I just can't speak to anyone! I've tried calling early morning to later in the evening with the same result. I been a customer for 9 years now and the service has gotten progressively worse.
Online chat..... forget it! It's a bog standard reply that gets you nowhere!
Email.....nope, no reply as yet but then it's only been a day since I sent it.
Absolutely digusted with this company's attitude to so called customer care.
As soon as I can I'm out of this contract and if I were you I would AVOID AVOID AVOID..

Still waiting for a reply to my email...

Wish I could give 0 stars!! Where do I start?! Bills too high, monthly d/d that Eon set are nowhere near enough so now in arrears by over £300. Had email from Eon stating that our £75pm payments will increase by 113% to £161pm!!. Try to call them to discuss- answered after 15mins by a lady who couldn’t even understand a postcode. She eventually got it and, without asking what the problem was, transferred me to another dept. Another 20mins on hold (35mins total call) it cut me off.
Emailed them- waited 48hrs but no response, emailed again-another 48hrs and no response. Tried another phone call- 20mins on hold. Gave up as had to go out. What am I meant to do now??!! Cancelling my direct debit may be the only way to get their attention. BAD, BAD, BAD company- can not wait to exit my contract with them. If you have any sense don’t go there!

Eon supplies my property with gas

Eon supplies my property with gas. Since August 2017 the meter has not worked and so no meter reading could be taken. Despite me advising them of this on numerous occasions, Eon continued to harass me for estimated readings which were incorrect. Eon even issued court papers against me to recover the debt. After endless debates and a complaint raised Eon stopped the legal proceedings against me and admitted they needed to replace the meter. The meter was finally changed on 29th May 2018, nearly a year after the original one had stopped working. Despite Eon's failing meter they have now put a default on my credit file and will not remove the default. Even though I have not defaulted. I have spoken to the resolutions team and have been advised there is nothing anyone can do about it ! Frankly this is disgusting. The whole debacle was due to Eons failures and yet the customer is being punished for it. Eon have even admitted this in writing. My next step is to speak to the financial ombudsman as the saga continues......................

Endless obstacles to prevent me going onto a cheaper tariff

The background is that the government capped energy prices in early 2018. Eon responded by increasing the standing charge and also removing all discounts so that they could get around the new law.
I was on standard variable tariff. Because it had now increased significantly I decided to go onto the Go Online, v8, v11, 1 year fixed tariff. Eon gave me the runaround for weeks to discourage me.
One supposedly had to register online. I did so but nothing happened. Eon said there had been an IT glitch and that they would phone me. A week went by. No call. Tried online chat. James said he doesn't deal with tariff switching but gave me a number. When I rang the number Angela said she doesn't handle tariff switching and said someone would call me. As I ended the call Angela slipped up and revealed that she does indeed handle tariff switching. When I pointed it out she said that there is an "online team" that does Go Online. I asked for the number. She didn't know.
Conversation with Angela was this morning. It is now evening. No-one from this probably mythical online team has phoned me.
Utterly appalling service from Eon.

I’ve been a long standing customer of…

I’ve been a long standing customer of E.ON and have had no issue until I had a Smart Meter fitted. Upon smelling gas in the meter cupboard I contacted the Scottish Gas Board who sent out an engineer to assess the situation. SGB advised me my smart meter had not been properly installed and was the source of the leak. On reporting this to E.ON I was passed over to a member of the Smart Meter team whose only solution was to book me in to have the meter replaced. No acknowledgement of their poor install or that I may not need a new meter but a safety check following SGB service. Continued to patronise me with her script, again not actually listening to the problem at hand.

I started a Live Chat with a guy called James. He could not have been more unhelpful if he tried and when asked wouldn't give me his full name.

On several occasions he didn't answer my questions, then as I asked for further reasoning he said 'because we can not see into the future' - horrific customer service and also awful spelling/grammar.

Definitely changing suppliers, I've never experienced such awful service. Don't use them it's not worth the hassle.

Been with Eon a while now

Longstanding customer.

Been with Eon a while now, have also had smart meters set up, which are very functional.

Prices are constantly increasing, and with the smart meters it seems like a hassle to switch annoyingly.

Have had a few issues when moving house however they generally sorted them well and would credit my account upon complaint with a gesture of goodwill.

I swaped to the "Smart meter" and now I get an invoice every month, instead of quarterly and if it takes you more than a week to pay the bill, they start harassing with swapping you to Pay as You Go or even cutting the service. I was with Swalec for 8 years and had no issues, 2 years with Eon and it's all been threats, bills and bad experience.
And also with these meters you can't see your readings so they can just charge you whatever they want. I've been receiving monthly invoices for the same amounts as when I really was on quarterly billing.
DON'T ANYONE SWAP TO SMART METER OR EON.

If it had a 0 star rating I would rate…

If it had a 0 star rating I would rate Eon 0. They are appalling and disgusting. Eon sent me to the debt collectors and damage my credit score for gas they know I have not used. I have district heating that is paid for in my service charge and an electric cooker. eon knows my gas meter has been capped for over 20 years. Yet they still damage my credit score. absolutely disgusting. Bullying me to pay for gas they know I have not used. This is organisation neglect and bullying of the highest order.

Eon are absolutely awful. Pathetic.

Bought a new home and tried to get the pre-payment meters changed to smart credit meters. Couldn't book the appointment until nearly a month after signing up with them, after which it was another 3 weeks before they could do it. Today is the day it was meant to happen, but the engineer was a no-show and sent a cancellation message 8 minutes before the end of the time slot they were due to arrive in, wasting 4 hours of my day. I can now rearrange the appointment to another 3 weeks from now (meaning this will be over TWO MONTHS before this will be sorted from initial contact).

Absolutely pathetic service, will never use again.

By far the worse company in the the UK. Don't touch them.

Once again, I am writing another review on E.ON - this times its 7 months after I have left them as a client.

While I was a client E.ON constantly overcharged me, rates were always going up and trying to sort out refunds on their overpayment was impossible. I then left them and 7 months after I have left them and moved to the wonderful, and very reasonably priced PFP Energy, E.ON just randomly deducts GBP2,000 from my account - stating it as an overdue bill - more than 7 months after I left them and settled my closing bill with them. They are disorganised and dishonest company and I can honestly say the worse company in the UK. Don't waste your time with this brand.
