Bad communication
Can’t get through to customer services. Each time holding on for very long periods or end up getting cut off. Eventually when getting through I explained I wanted to be put on a credit meter and they said they will talk to me about tariffs nearer to the time in January as they are busy right now . (I phoned in November) Instead an engineer turned up unannounced at my door. I wasn’t in as I didn’t know they were coming but was left a card from them. Shocked that they can come out like that to do an exchange to a credit meter from a pre-payment without any discussions of prices, tariffs, price plan. I think I will stay as I am especially judging from a few reviews I’ve read. Had a lucky escape.
Easy to switch to
I recently switched my energy supplier to E.On. It was hassle free, quick and easy to switch to E.On
The rating is based only on the process of switch. The rating has nothing to do with their tariffs, as I think that the acceptability of tariffs differs from person to person.
Excessive increase to Energy Bills
As a customer of EON for many years I am disappointed that I have now to consider changing supplier. Having called their phone support line I am told that the increase in payment PER MONTH of £60 is correct. I am on a fixed year contract which has me paying around £136 a month. I am told that the new rate in Feb will be £190. The cost price of Energy has either remained constant or in fact fallen. How can there be a justification of raising my energy bill in Gas and Electricity by this amount? The conversation I had with their represenative gave the impression that I had had a good one year rate and that now I should pay what everyone else is paying - not a very sympathetic phone call (check the recording EON). I expect a rise but not a jump of so much. The check carried out by their representative seemed very superficial to see if this offer could be improved. I await their response to see if this charge can be reduced somewhat to a more reasonable level. I will make a change to another supplier in January if I dont get a fairer deal. USwitch shows much better offers.
Utterly useless!
Wanted to change our meter from pre payment to credit meter. Everything was fine until the day of the changeover.
Engineer turned up with the wrong meter and then said "someone will be out today with the right one". Got to late afternoon and no news so called. Customer Services told me they wouldn't be coming back out that day so I would have to re book the appt.
2 weeks later, someone sat in all day waiting (was supposed to be a morning appt). Go to late afternoon and still no sign. Phoned them again..... "there's been an issue with our booking system and he's not coming, you'll have to re book"..... got to wait another 2 weeks!
Will change supplier as soon a they change the meter (if they ever turn up)
Overbilled for 7 years!
Eon has just admitted overcharging me £25k over 7 years. After 3 weeks they have refunded me! In addition I asked for compensation and they offered me £100 - interest alone is nearly £3k !!!! I'll keep Trust pilot updated on how the E.on complaint is handled - could be one of the submissions for customer service nightmare of the year!
Thank you
Do what they say on the tin
Had a few issues over tariffs but they sorted quickly and paid me back £200 I'd over paid swiftly and before I thought I'd get it. Website and app can be a little slow but customer service has always been very helpful and friendly and call waiting times are within reason. I requested a smart meter which was fitted and active within a few days and I'm now saving quite a bit thanks to their endless patience with me repeatedly asking 'what does this do'!
They may not be the very cheapest but they have helped me get to grips with my energy use and to me, helpfulness far out ways getting cheap stuff with no support.
No problems whatsoever
Always excellent to deal with - their website is great - never had any problems, but can no longer afford their tariff. So I've had to switch. Most unfortunate.
Failed to keep yet another appointment!! Totally Useless!!! Find Another Supplier!!
Along with BT this company has to be one of the most utterly useless and greedy organisations around! They ponce about with ridiculous emails telling you how wonderful they are and how much they care.
Not a bit of it!!!
They ripped me off with high unintelligible electricity tariffs, they fail to keep appointments! As for their web site??? Well! if there was ever a web site designed to frustrate and confuse and avoid actually doing anything, this has got to be it!!!
Not only that! they are so mean they can't even provide a "Freephone " number for when they cock things up, WHICH THEY DO WITH GREAT REGULARITY" They even want to charge you for their own mistakes by keeping you hanging on to endless stupid messages and menus. I will be complaining to the regulator for all that's worth. The only thing any of us can do is vote to ensure this mob is kicked out and the whole lot is brought back into public ownership. Because companies like this, do not care a toss about you and me its only their greedy shareholder that are important to their USELESS MANAGEMENT and feeding us endless rubbish about how they care is simply a rouse to keep you paying through the nose for their rotten service!!!
Account Query Handled Well by Kirsty & Rohan
Got through to the wrong department (my error!) and working in a call centre myself I can honestly say I was dealt with in a very professional manner. I was kept informed every step of the way and would like to thank both Kirsty and Rohan (sp?) for the friendly, courteous way they conducted their calls :)
Far from Acceptable and Rude With it
This company is not a decent company it fails to follow the law it is a bullying company that only wants it's own way, It ignores customers then says sorry and does it all again.
They prevent you from changing to another supplier by the continued errors they make and don't even get the bills correct. Keep away from EON they are one bad company to deal with and you will not get satisfaction with them.
