Shop Elsewhere - Action Being Taken Against Company
This is a bit of a read, but our experience with Eternity Modern (EM) was so awful that we are taking action against the company, and we wanted other consumers to be aware of our experience.
On October 29th, we ordered the Eames Arm Chair from EM. We never received a confirmation email or a receipt, so we reached out to the company to make sure they received the order which they did. We were provided with an order number only, and still do not have a receipt for the chair.
The chair arrived on November 8th, and we opened it immediately. We took the ottoman out first and brought it in the house, and realized that the leather was brown when we wanted it in black. We were confused because at the time of the order, we thought their website only displayed the chair with black leather despite displaying the 3 options for the wood veneer. We don’t remember even selecting a leather colour, and of course never received a receipt or official confirmation of the order. We immediately reviewed their “no hassle returns accepted within 7 days of delivery” return policy to find that it is, in fact, not hassle free. The client is responsible for shipping the chair back and shipping the new chair as well which isn’t in line with what we see with other online furniture companies but we were willing to accept it at the cost posted on their site under shipping and returns ($159.00, which is what it cost to ship it to our home).
We advised EM within hours of delivery, and they responded to us a day later that it would actually cost $790.00 to ship it back, and then their regular rate of $159.00 to send the new chair back would also apply. We were shocked, especially given that we weren’t even really sure we had ordered the chair in brown to begin with. But also because we shop online regularly and have never heard of anything this outrageous. We highlighted a number of points to the company, including the fact that their photos misrepresent the chair, and interestingly enough they now seem to have added pictures of the different leathers (we took screenshots of the website advertising once we were advised of the cost to exchange, and there was only black leather at that time) . As per their policy, we were advised to keep the chair in its original packaging so we re-packed the ottoman and never even took out the chair – we told EM this.
The company proceeded to say they wanted to find a resolution which made us hopeful, but from here the situation dragged out for two more weeks. They offered to exchange the cushions only, but we would still have to pay about $300.00 shipping. We were ok with this, but the responses got more and more delayed and there was inconsistent/incomplete information being provided to us about how to proceed. Eventually, they told us to package the cushions and when we finally took the chair out of the box, we saw that it had a number of deep scratched on the wood veneer.
EM asked us for pictures, which we sent. I sent two additional emails asking for a follow-up after this, and eventually told them that I had started a charge back claim with my credit card company and that I would be filing a complaint with the Competition Bureau.
The COO of the company wrote me back the next day outlining a narrative of events that omitted a number of crucial points and told me that in order to be eligible for a refund I had to tell them about the issue within 3 days and that I would just have to fix it with a wood touch up kit. Essentially, because I trusted their intention to find a resolution about the cushions I missed the absurd 3 day deadline and was out of luck. I had even offered to accept the damage to the chair if they would just send the new cushions, but this is the response I got. I expect they may respond to this review with another inaccurate account of events, and so I would be more than happy to share our entire email communication chain with anyone wants to verify what actually happened.
As a service provider and business owner who regularly purchases furnishings and décor online from a variety of companies, I am appalled at EM’s behaviour and approach to client care and have never experienced anything like this or left a bad review before. They seem to believe they’ve done nothing wrong, so it will be up to the Competition Bureau, my credit card company, and the courts if need be to decide. At the very least, this company is simply not worth ordering from because of their unreasonable return and exchange policies that make it so it’s not worth it to return/exchange anything. There are so many wonderful companies to order from online, and no reason to risk it with EM knowing that if anything goes wrong, you’ll get treated as we have.

Stay away from Eternity Modern and Mulberry Insurance
We bought 10 knock off Saarinen dining chairs from Eternity Modern. We ordered leather swatches and chose their highest quality leather. The chairs arrived and looked great, but within 4 months the leather was wearing through and cracks were appearing in the leather. We contacted the company and they referred me to Mulberry, the insurance that they work with. After several weeks after sending multiple photos of the damage, I received a reply from Mulberry that they don't cover "normal wear and tear". 3 or 4 months should not be "normal wear and tear". I've email Eternity Modern to see if they will stand behind their product if their allied insurance company will not. I have a strong feeling that I am wasting my time I believe that the leather used for our chairs are not the same quality as the swatch, and I think their method is to pawn off their responsibility to their bogus insurance carrier.

They will block you!!
To start it should be noted that Eternity Modern has blocked me from Facebook and Twitter. This is important because this is how they deal with customer concerns. Notice how there are no comments on social media, this is a sign. A piece of furniture was ordered from Eternity Modern. It came defective. This was acknowledged by Eternity Modern because they told us to apply WD40 to the chair and to hit it with a hammer to make it work. They told us if we did like the chair we could return it, but would need to pay a $630 return and restocking fee! They wouldn't budge from this and kept saying it was their policy. The furniture you are buying is poor quality, if you are unhappy, which is likely, you will be on the hook to return it and out $100's of dollars! I highly recommend you shop elsewhere, somewhere where they actually stand by their product and offer some form of customer service. Stay away!!
STUNNING!
I ordered Mario Bellini leather pieces through eternity modern. Stunning does not begin to describe these pieces. They elevated my entire loft in soho. I’m a perfectionist, but have trouble pulling the trigger. This divine small company offered the best design advice. I’m so grateful for affordable & gorgeous furniture and great design guidance. Bravo!

I had an amazingly smooth experience
I had an amazingly smooth experience. Hailey guided me with fabrics and was patient as She granted my every whim in selecting from a huge array of fabrics. I selected the Bellini in pearl Boucle. It is beautiful ! No need to ponder the sofa is gorgeous, comfy and classy.
Thank you Hailey I most certainly will be adding on in the future.

If you’re looking for ethical behavior, look elsewhere
Though, if we’re buying from these guys, we know we’re buying knockoffs, so i guess it’s a mutual fail on ethics. That said - there’s no reason for them to behave so poorly, and they consistently have! Several orders, terrible customer service, completely changing their minds about returns, reneging re quality issues and so on. We had a whole house to furnish in a hurry, thought that they would be a good solution, and boy, did they stiff us. There are many other ‘knock off artists’ to buy from, and i suggest you do. This is the only review i’ve left, but it was such a cruddy experience (and their product also so variable), that i felt moved to do so. Bon chance!

Eternity Modern - Defective Leather
I purchased a leather Saarinen Executive chair from Eternity Modern for around $900. The chair was delivered in October2020. I noticed recently the finish on the leather was coming off. It appears there are at least two layers to the finish with the large areas of the top layer wearing off to reveal a lighter secondary
layer. As I have had a lot of leather furniture, car seats, etc., this is the first time I have experienced the finish wearing off. Since the chair is only 1-1/2 years old, I would expect better wear andfeel the leather is defective. I contacted Eternity Modern about the issue providing details and pictures. They responded with their warranty indicating the leather was excluded from their warranty coverage. As the chair is leather, they are essentially absolving themselves of any responsibility. Now they are coming back with a your covered for one year (moving target from no warranty to a one year) but your outside the warranty. If you want to spend $900 for a Chinese knock off of an MCM chair and kick it to the curb 1-1/2 years later, Eternity Modern is happy to provide.

Avoid buying from this company
Avoid buying from this company. They lure you in with free delivery over 1,000 BUT that is only curbside delivery. I ordered a bed and one man came to leave it on the curb. This is not Uber Eats and I have not ordered a hamburger....its a queen bed people and in a huge box! Obviously, I could not carry a bed by myself into my home so I had to send it away. Forget trying to return the item. That will cost you too! Now I have to pay a small fortune to return it and the only other way out of this terrible purchase is to pay for a redelivery and a "White Glove Service" to actually get it delivered and carried into the home. If you contact the company, you will get "robot" responses and zero customer service to make the experience better. I am sure you will see a comment under my review that will be written by a robot explaining their terrible policies and their unwillingness to help the customer feel good about their purchase. The bed was over 3,500$$ and they just don't care.

My experience with Eternity Modern
My experience with Eternity Modern was amazing, Haley at customer service was so courteous, helpful and knowledgeable! I ordered a second chair, the first one was for my husband, and it arrived in perfect condition. It looks just like the picture. It is so comfortable and absolutely beautiful, I got the one in dark blue velvet. Thank you Eternity Modern for a great experience. I highly recommend them and give them 5 stars! Annette H.

Elegant, well-made, exactly as depicted. Very pleased. Btw, firmness can be adjusted with down feather layer.

False Descriptions. No Returns. Terrible Service.
False descriptions in the details of the items sold on this website. I ordered an item. Upon receiving that item I realized it did not match the description on the site and was given lengthy, terrible customer service ultimately forcing me outside of the window to make a return which they would not honor to begin with, invalidating me along the way. Forcing me to keep an unusable $600 item that was falsely described on the site. Their customer service is awful, package came banged up, return policy is virtually non existent and they will invalidate your concerns and make you jump through hoops to get simple customer service through the entire experience. So disappointed/Honestly criminal.

Avoid! Quality Control Issues Abound
Avoid! Eternity Modern is a pitiful drop ship company with questionable quality control masquerading as a designer furniture retailer.
I bought a Saarinen executive side chair from them that arrived in Feb. 2020, and—as of this review in Feb. 2022—it has since had not one but TWO of the metal feel come right off while I was adjusting my seat. My friend who works in furniture design (and is my go-to “help me fix this” guy) confirmed that the breaks are due to poor materials.
I have 7-year-old Ikea chairs that I bought for an 1/8th the price of this trash that have held up better & longer. Save your pennies and invest in a genuine piece from somewhere reputable like Design Within Reach.

Research before buying from Eternity Modern!!
Please do your due diligence on this company before ordering, it seems since 2021 and onwards the company has really gone downhill. During unprecedent times around the world, everyone can of course understand and accept mess-ups, delays, and issues but what Eternity Modern has failed to done is inform their customers, handle customer service, and frankly just simply respond to emails anymore.
If you do any research on the company, you'll see recent reviews from 2021 to 2022 all being negative. They used to have a phone number you can call which they no longer seem to have. They don't respond to emails anymore, we are out over $16,000 and have not heard anything about where the product is, and have not been able to reach them.
Please buyer beware!!

Another warning to customers
I decided to post this after reading the review right before mine by AM. I too purchased on 01/18/22 for a 2k couch from eternity modern and haven't heard anything back. When I click on the link they emailed me to check order status, I'm brought to a page that says "We were unable to retrieve your information. Please try again or contact our customer support team for assistance."I'm getting same issues when trying to reach by phone. Looks like their phones have been in repair for more then 2 months now and live chat is not a real thing. I am as well going to be filing a claim with credit card if they don't get back to me tomorrow. Wish you luck AM.

You get what you pay for
I thought long and hard about getting the knockoff Womb chair from here versus the real deal from Knoll. The price (one third) is hard to beat so I went with Eternity Modern. I received the chair (4 months later but as per the timeline they promised) and noticed big blobs of chipping paint on three of the legs. I emailed them within an hour of receiving the package. They asked some questions and wanted more photos. Then they emailed me saying $200 will be refunded to my card. WHAT???? What a joke. And that’s why knockoffs aren’t worth it. I can’t imagine someone selling a real Knoll would offer this solution, it’s seriously disrespectful to the legacy of the design. There’s no amount of partial refund that will make me want to keep their chair with the chips in my brand new house. What an icky experience.
Oh, and the reviews on their website are absolutely curated like the person a few reviews below mentions. They don’t allow you to post photos even though the existing reviews have them.
1/3/2022 EDIT: the issue is still not resolved despite the comment from them below. They’ve now offered me to send a new frame (will take 16 weeks) but they haven’t answered how I’m supposed to detach the old one and replace it. It doesn’t look like it’ll be be easy from what I can tell. Overall their CS reps are acting like I’m being difficult even though they sent me a damaged product.

Scammed into paying storage fees for delivery!!
Would rate 0 if I could. To date we have still not received our furniture. We paid in full for the order and when it finally was ready to be shipped to our home, the shipper could not deliver our order on the delivery date we requested. We provided an alternate date the following week and were then sent an additional invoice from Eternity Modern for $248.50 for "special handling fees" even though we were promised free shipping and happiness guaranteed (this was apparently for storage fees). Our furniture was held hostage until we paid this invoice and we are now waiting to see it it will actually be delivered to us on the new delivery date. Beware of ordering anything from this company as it is a total scam. So disappointing!
Update: Promised refund was never received. E-mails go unanswered and phone lines and disconnected. Are your still in business???

NOT leather/biased website review process
1. EM Management highback chair is NOT genuine leather - THIS WAS NOT rectified.
The fabric is PVC or polyurethane, no matter what they say in their reply below. It is paper-thin, has a white backing (typical of polyurethane) and tears easily at stitching that joins various pieces.
2. No response from the company after many attempts to communicate to honour a coupon - this was rectified.
3. They did not post my review on their website - probably because it was deservingly negative. Also, there's no way to do a Google review.

Cant under business concept of companies these days
I do not think the people in their communication or guest service team even have a clue when they will receive their orders, I placed my order in Oct and was informed that it would take 4-6 weeks and now its going to be 2 months with no one even caring to inform their Customer what is going on with the order. They have great prices but I should have just both it from Amazon which was $50 more for each chair then going this way. Now I have to find a Back up place before i cancel this order. The funny part is that their Canadian Website has it on Backorder but the USA website has it available not sure why they can just get it ship from USA to them.
