No good in handling issues and refunds

I used to like Etsy as they have very nice things. Things went well until there was a problem in delivery. They do not handle issues well at all. I did not receive an item, although it was mark delivered in their system and neither Etsy Support or the seller (Kintsugiplanet) was interested in helping me or even giving me a refund, although I informed them immediately and opened a case. Sad.

I think these guys are scams.I try to sell something in their site and they ask me for the cvv code of my cart which is forbidden from all the banks to give it.
I sent them two emails about this matter and know one answer me.You can understand why!!!

Don't use Etsy they offer no protection to the buyer

I purchased some candy to give to my mother for Christmas, the candy arrived late and tasted horrible. I asked the seller for a refund, the seller refused and offered to send me more horrible candy instead. I contacted Etsy who promptly drug the case out long enough so my credit card company would not open a dispute. I suggest using another company like Amazon.

These people were extremely rude to me…

These people were extremely rude to me and refused to help me after they deleted my account. They were not helpful AT ALL, and I was about to make a purchase of >$400 (but couldn't, because they deleted my account), and when I tried to contact support, they basically told me to f!ck off and that my business was not important to them. If you run into a problem as a customer, they will not be there for you, and they obviously do not value their customers. I feel sorry for the sellers whose goods I was about to buy, though...I'll have to let them know (and anyone else here who's considering selling with etsy) that they lost a lot of money because of the terrible customer service of the platform they were using.

This is a fraudulent company
I made a purchase with a seller who goes by the name of Koba1 and who sells "vintage watches" on Etsy. After a month had passed, my item never arrived. I contacted the seller. He said that he would get back to me, but he never did. I then opened a case with Etsy. After some time the seller appears and shows an obviously falsified receipt claiming that the item was sent. I contacted my Postal Service and they claimed that the item never left Lithuania. Etsy sided with the fraudulent seller and I never received neither my item nor my money. This company and their sellers are huge scams. I've reported Etsy to the Consumer Protection Agency. I do not know what they can do, but at least I have warned consumers about this fraudulent e-business. Save your money and avoid at all cost!

Check where your goods are coming from

Ordered an item on the 9th January 2022 which turns out was coming from Turkey. This item arrived 24th January 2022 by UPS courier to our home in Germany.
We had to pay 48.13 euros for the customs before the parcel could be handed over. On the sellers website they do write a disclaimer that customs fees are not their responsibility, which unfortunately my husband had not seen. My review is based on the online website of Etzy, reason being to contact them is extremely difficult, and their response to any emails are not forthcoming at all. The fact that unless you order within the European Union all other countries are subject to customs fees which can then make your purchases double or triple the price you have originally paid, and the facility to review your order is non existent. Amazon seem to have remedied this problem, but most other online sights do not make it clear enough in regards to custom charges when goods are entering Germany from 3rd world countries not within the Union.
Etzy still need to come back to us, but wont hold my breath.

Good experience with Etsy as a…

So far my experience with Etsy as a buyer has been rather good. I've ordered egg trays from a specific brand in England a while ago. They came perfectly packaged and arrived in great condition in a timely manner. This time I tried a Canadian picture frame seller. The frame arrived in perfect shape within a week. Thumbs up! I'll order again. Good quality and reasonable pricing. My second item was a customized anniversary gift for my husband and myself. I ordered it to go into the picture frame. The item was made by Paper Emporium in England. It was originally shipped with UPS from Pennsylvania. It was handed over to the USPS and then traveled from Michigan to southern Ohio and back to NW Ohio, where it was delivered yesterday despite the snow we received. All in all I will order again on Etsy, but I'd much prefer if the delivery would be completed by the service that received the item in the first place instead of handing it over to the next service. It just makes things a bit easier to keep on track in general and avoids the guessing game if delivery dates are kept. One would guess if it's paid for at a specific level it should go all the way through in the same shipping category (priority) as well. Other than that the sellers all have done a good job! Thanks

I was really very disappointed by Etsy

I was really very disappointed by Etsy, I considered it a serious and reliable shop. I have read a lot of reviews about support and a lot of people have been in trouble. I, on the other hand, found something truly unusual and disturbing ... I have an account on Etsy and I used it generally to sell vintage items ... Until I decided to buy an item, ordered the item with prepaid card after a few minutes I am notified by email that my account has been suspended for I don't know what specific reason, it is not explained well even on the email ... I state that the sale of my articles has also been blocked ... 2 days have passed and even after several reminders and emails my account is blocked ... Nobody is heard.Unfortunately, after this sad story I will be forced to look for other reliable alternatives, and now there are many, even cheaper.

My account has been reactivated, but I still don't understand and the sense ... Such a thing never happened. I then tried to buy back the usual item at least ten times, I also changed the payment method, first Revolut then PayPal. Nothing .. after a while I get an email "The merchant has canceled the order." Absolutely hallucinating, such a thing has never happened, buying online 😳.

Update ( After trying other payment methods ):

It seems that it is not a problem even by Revolut because I made the payment in different methods both direct revolut, revolut via paypal, then directly with paypal via bank ... nothing they don't want to charge the object ... really great Etsy service.. but above all, assistance is non-existent

Global Postal Shipping

When you order something PRAY that they don't ship with Global Postal Shipping.
Your parcel is going to be lost with different couriers (you will never know who they are and neither the seller) and there is no way to contact anyone to understand where the goods are, because is not just one courier.
It was an horrible experience, I waited for almost a month before having my parcel, which fortunately arrived in a perfect condition.
Talk with the seller before paying, maybe you can find an agreement and see if they can ship with just one courier. Because if you pay, then nobody will be able to help you.
Also the Customer Service of Etsy could do nothing. An experience I wish to forget.

I lost a heap of money and gained an awful experience

I purchased an expensive garment from Amazona Fashion on Etsy. I ordered size S, but received an XS (which they do sell) from them; it would have been perfect for a doll, but not for a grown woman, however slim. I wrote to the seller who asked me to open the lacing to make it bigger. This didn't work, the item really was way too small, and besides, I had bought a larger size! I said it to the Amazona Fashion, who did not reply to me after that, ever. I then tried to contact Etsy, but had to log into my account for doing so; for some reason, they did not take my details at all, nor let me change password etc. I never got in. Basically, I lost a heap of money and gained an awful experience. Would not recommend, it's a lottery, and their customer service is unaccessible and unaccountable should anything go wrong. Never again.

You can find really unique gifts here and all the sellers I've used are really helpful and willing to customise/personalise their products to my exact specifications.
A more cost effective solution to Not On The High Street which I find to be seriously expensive.

Warning! Etsy hacking is RAMPANT! Hackers send identical emails are exact copies and identical to Etsy emails, you will see hundreds of Etsy emails and not know which one is the real Etsy!

Remove your credit card , close your account, if you really need to use Etsy remove your credit card every time and enable two factors authentication and understanding that ETSY WILL NOT HELP YOU AND THEY DO NOTHING PROTECT YOU!!!
Etsy will NOT help you in any way when you get hacked! Etsy does not have a customer service phone number, they do NOT CARE about buyers or sellers!!!!

CAVEAT EMPTOR

Etsy should be advertised with a warning notice - Buyer Beware! In UK we are relatively well looked after under the provisions of the distance buying rules. Be sure that you have a name and physical address for the seller. Our Christmas present for our son was a disaster! Etsy merely dodge the issue saying the seller should be contacted, and the seller tells us their contract is with Etsy. WHICH? Legal, Martin Lewis, Rip-Off Britain and the UK Trade Standards Agency are now all involved, so do not engage unless you are certain about the goods you are purchasing. This outfit is a typical US marketing pyramid designed to use the average punter as a cash cow!

I ordered a handmade Japanese gold and red Heron design lampshade, by Shadeogogie on Etsy. It came fabulously wrapped, more beautiful than the pictures on site, thank you Etsy for having these craft sellers on your site.. bought many items recently for xmas presents, everyone of them well packaged and in a decent time. Terrible Company with Horrific Customer Service/Seller Service

Etsy is a terrible company with horrible customer service for its sellers. I attempted to use their service to sell my eBooks. I'm an independent author who owns my own publishing label. I publish all of my own works under this label, and I wanted to try to increase my audience range by selling on Etsy. First, I checked their selling policies to make sure it would be okay to sell my product on Etsy, since they only sell "handmade" products.

According to their definition of homemade, my books were qualified for selling on Etsy. The books were my original idea, I wrote them, I edited them, I formatted them, and I commissioned a cover artist to create the cover (which makes the cover my property as well). They were completely handmade by Etsy's definition. Not to mention that Etsy has a category for selling books.

I signed up, listed two of my books, and left to do something else. I returned to my computer an hour later to add more of my books and found my account had been suspended and my listing removed. No explanation given. Supposedly, I was to receive an email explaining the suspension. No email arrived. I emailed their support. No response. Emailed again. No response. This time, I told them to close my account and told them I would not be paying the listing fees for the two books I'd posted because I was not going to pay a fee for a service I was never actually given. Again, no response.

I checked back a month later and my account had not been deleted. I sent them another email explaining that I needed my account closed and would not be paying for a service I never actually received. The fee was only $0.40, but it was the principle that mattered. No one wants to pay for improper service. You wouldn't pay for food at a restaurant that wasn't fully cooked and a waitress that treated you horribly. Why would you pay for an internet service that suspended you without reason less than an hour after signing up and refused to respond to your emails explaining what happened?

I finally received a response today and what was it? A copy/paste response located on their help page explaining that my account would be unsuspended if I paid my balance. The response didn't address any of my concerns. I sent a scathing response, using curses that I normally don't use due to the pent-up frustration, demanding that they cancel my account and refusing to pay the fee. I will never again use their services, either as a seller or a buyer.

Edit - I finally received a response from Etsy in which they told me they closed my account. Glad they closed the account, but still angry that I had to send them an email filled with curse words in order for them to finally close my account. How horrible is your business practice and customer service when multiple emails go unanswered, then you give a copy/paste response that doesn't answer the question, and finally have to be cussed out in order to actually do something?

Poor customer service

I was terribly disappointed with this company. Do not use this company unless you are absolutely certain you have the right size and colour etc. Although it says returns are accepted in large print, the return policy (in small print) does not allow it, unless they have made the mistake. They told me the item could not be returned because it was customised , however the website advertises it as being in stock.

I don't know how one search for a Pokemon hat or an Animal Crossing button or whatever it was i searched gave me sexy furries all over my homepage but there you go. And Etsy doesn't even have an option to say "I'm not interested in this," like on YouTube. They really should.

THESE GUYS ARE THIEVES, UNPROFESSIONAL, INCOMPETENT AND SUBSTANDARD.

Disgusting customer service as a new seller, they took my listing fees and suspended my account within 12hrs of being open.
No correspondence to tell me why, and now 2 months later I have tried every form of medium to try contact support in every way possible. Nothing works...
