I was genuinely excited to visit.. total let down

I was genuinely excited to visit this spa — my partner had booked it as a surprise for my birthday, and also because I had lost my Nan just two months earlier and he wanted to do something special to cheer me up. Unfortunately, the experience has been nothing but disappointing.

Our original booking in August was cancelled the day before due to the spa “not being able to gain access to the building.” We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and rebooked for 5th December. However, just a few days before our visit, we received another cancellation call, this time due to “landlord issues.” After reading other reviews, it’s clear this is a recurring problem, despite my partner being told it was a rare occurrence. They’ve also said they contacted us 9 days prior to our appointment which is a complete lie, it was much less.

Both times, we were contacted by email first, emails we didn’t see straight away and only received a call afterwards. If you’re cancelling something at such short notice, a phone call should be the first point of contact, not an afterthought - not everyone is able to read their emails immediately.

Because of these last minute cancellations, we’ve lost out on non refundable train tickets and a hotel reservation, costing us a significant amount of money. Although we were offered the chance to rebook for a third time, we declined — the birthday surprise was already ruined, and given the growing number of negative reviews, we no longer had any confidence in booking again. While our treatment was refunded, our request for compensation for our wasted travel and accommodation costs was completely ignored.

To make matters worse, we received a call yesterday from the spa offering an extra 30 minutes of extra treatment, something we had already been offered after the first cancellation, showing they hadn’t properly reviewed our situation. They keep making out like it was a complimentary offer but actually really frustrating because they offered this prior then again a second time & it’s like they think
It justifies the fact that they cancel last minute for what seems to be reoccurring excuses. They also asked my partner to remove his negative review simply because they had issued a refund. Not only is this inappropriate and against Google’s review policies, but it also feels like an attempt to silence honest customer experiences.

Overall, this has been a frustrating and expensive experience. If a business repeatedly cancels on paying customers and refuses to take responsibility, I would strongly recommend avoiding it. Such a shame as there’s a chance it could’ve been a nice treat.

I had such a wonderful experience at Euphoria spa! The massage was absolutely perfect – my therapist, Be, was incredibly professional and attentive throughout the session. She really knew what she was doing, and I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. The spa itself has such a calming atmosphere, with soothing music that made the experience even better. The entire staff was very respectful and provided great service from start to finish. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a truly professional and relaxing massage!

DO NOT TRUST THIS SPA

An absolutely shocking experience from start to finish.

We booked this spa months in advance for a birthday surprise, planned time off work, arranged everything around the date — only for the spa to cancel on us at the last minute. Disappointing, but we decided to give them another chance and rebooked.

To our disbelief, they cancelled again, just days before the new date.

Two bookings, two last-minute cancellations, and a completely ruined birthday that we had put a lot of effort into organising. Their communication throughout was awful. We received the same generic apology, followed by silence. No attempt to take responsibility, no real explanation, nothing.

To make matters worse, they claimed that this “doesn’t usually happen,” but the reviews online say otherwise. Clearly, last-minute cancellations and poor customer handling are a pattern, not a one-off.

And no doubt they will respond to this review with the same copy-and-paste generic message they leave under all their other complaints — instead of actually addressing the issues.

This is hands-down one of the most unprofessional businesses I’ve ever dealt with. If you’re considering booking here, don’t. Save yourself the stress and disappointment. There are plenty of spas that treat their customers with basic reliability and respect — this one does not.

Dear Ben,

I'm truly sorry for the double cancellation of your birthday plans. I understand your frustration and disappointment.

I want to be clear: these closures were not our decision. Our landlord made an unexpected decision and blocked the access to the Spa, which was completely out of our control. This happened twice during the period of your bookings, which is why both were cancelled.

I apologize that our communication during this difficult time wasn't better. We should have explained the situation more clearly and kept you better informed.

We are now back open and fully operational. If you're willing to give us another chance, we invite you to arrange your booking and would like to offer you an additional complimentary treatment as our apology for the disruption to your birthday plans.

Spent a weekend in London

I spent a weekend in London with a friend and found this spa while searching online. We called to check if they had space, and luckily they did. The spa is really cozy and perfect for a girls’ weekend. I had a male therapist for my massage he was really good, I just wish I remembered his name so I could recommend him. The massage was super relaxing and exactly what I needed before heading back home.

My partner received a Wowcher from her son for a basic 30 minute treatment so I called them and paid over £200 to join her and for myself and her to have a joint massage. I have received an e-mail two days before our booking date stating that...We regret to inform you that the spa will be temporarily closed due to an unexpected decision made by the landlord. We are actively working to resolve the situation and aim to reopen within one to two weeks. We will keep you updated as soon as more information becomes available.
Update: They just called me and apologised, I asked for a refund and said I will book again when they reopen, as long as the original voucher value is still valid.

Avoid avoid avoid

Avoid avoid avoid - I called them yesterday 13th November 2025 to check availability for Monday 17th November 2025, as I fancied a little on my birthday.
They confirmed they have a 10.4am slot. I said perfect, I have children so works perfectly and they asked for a card payment, I said I’m purchasing a Groupon voucher now. They said call back. I asked them on this call to pencil it in and I’ll call back in a couple of minutes with my Groupon voucher, they said fine.
I called back with the Groupon voucher number and they tell me they have no slots but can accommodate on Tuesday.
I was so upset and still am as I lost £92 and no spa on my birthday! They hoodwinked me into believing they had a slot; they tricked me to purshasing a Groupon knowing fully well they didn’t have a slot. How do they operate like this? They are crooks and dishonest - awful. I wish nothing but failure to Euphoria Spa.

Dear Monica,

I'm sorry for the confusion with your booking on your birthday. I understand how frustrating this must have been.
We are a small spa and our appointments book up very quickly. Between your first and second call, that particular slot was booked by another customer, which is why we could no longer offer it when you called back with your Groupon voucher.
I apologise that this wasn't explained clearly to you at the time. We would never intentionally mislead anyone into purchasing a voucher.
Your Groupon voucher is still valid, and I'd be happy to help you find an alternative date that works for you.

Again, I'm sorry your birthday plans didn't work out as hoped.

Waste of money. Do not book.

I’m not one to write reviews, but I really do feel I need to share my experience here. Do not book.

I received a £130 Giftcard as a birthday present to use at Euphoria Spa (near Monument). The experience was odd from the start. I arrived at my massage appointment time (which had been rescheduled already by the venue to be later) to be told they were worried about me because I had not arrived an hour earlier for my spa access. There had been no communication on my booking - I tripled checked after all my emails - that said if you booked a massage you got an hour in the spa before. It’s good this is part of the offer given that the 50 min massage was £120 which is extortionate (even with the spa access). I asked if I could use the spa after instead and was told no. Which I thought was interesting given that I could have booked a massage an hour after so they were still open…

I’d added on an £8 smoothie as I had money left on my gift card. This wasn’t brought to me before the massage despite me asking. After the massage, this arrived and was underwhelming to say the least. A tiny cup of store bought smoothie - not the 380ml promised and by no means worth £8.

Then we move to the massage which was a very interesting experience. First, the therapist seemed confused that I didn’t have a robe (which, by the way you have to hire for £5 despite the website saying they’re provided…outrageous given what you’re paying already). Second, I’d booked a deep tissue massage to then be told that I would not be able to have one as, given my figure, I would be bruised…I’m a girl who gets sports massages so was frustrated at this. I pushed back and she agreed to vary the pressure and mix between a deep tissue and relaxing.

Once we began she insisted I take off my gold necklaces. I understand some spas insist no jewelry, but I’ve never had an issue before when I’ve said no (as they’re sentimental) and I don’t mind if they get oily. Anyway, a back and forth and she insisted they must come off - her tone was off and really unsettled me. She was very forceful. I took them off and placed one on my pile of clothes - my other sentimental/expensive gold necklace, I said I would wrap around my wrist.

A little bit later, mid-massage, she then asked if she could move my clothes to the wardrobe and hang them up. I said no it’s fine as it was just gym wear and I’m not precious. She kept insisting and I just got another off feeling that it was an excuse to move my necklace. I flag this as someone else’s comment below mentioned jewelry too - this is really concerning.

During the massage, she used the most insane amount of oil (which by the way she told me was rapeseed oil not the blend of luxury essential oils the website advertised…) and when she massaged my hands, she started wiggling round my gold signet ring - turning it round and at one point shuffling it as if trying to get it off. I clenched my palms and then she stopped. The whole experience made me really uncomfortable, I couldn’t relax as I was paranoid about my belongings and got the impression my jewelry was being targeted.

And then we get onto the massage which was just the weirdest thing I’ve ever experienced. Honestly, I doubt this lady had any training. A weird mix of pressure, doing things to one side of my body but not the other. Pressure that felt like a gentle tickle and nothing like a deep tissue massage. And I reckon I got about 40 minutes of my 50 after all her procrastinating with pushing back on everything I asked for at the start. It was really really bad. I’ve had incredible £50 massages, let alone this for £130!!

I really cannot recommend this place at all. Please do not book. Had I paid my own money for this experience I would have been highly disappointed. £130 for just a terrible, unprofessional experience.

Oh and at the start, I went back to reception to ask a question and the woman said ‘oh you’ve come out I thought you were unhappy’ - as if that were a common occurrence.

Dear Sophie,

Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear that your visit felt confusing for you, and we’ve looked carefully into everything you mentioned.

Spa access one hour before treatments is always explained at booking and confirmed in writing. Your smoothie was prepared fresh in the spa and served in the exact size listed. Our therapists are highly qualified massage professionals and physiotherapists, and we use certified organic grapeseed oil. Our therapists are asking about the pressure during the massage and always can adjust to customer's requirements.

It is completely standard for therapists to ask guests to remove jewellery during massage for comfort and safety, and nothing inappropriate took place.

If you’d like to discuss anything further, you’re welcome to contact us directly at info@euphoriaspa.co.uk.

Hopeless, poor facilities and awful staff

I'm not keen on complaining but hoping this review will save others some money and disappointment.

This spa could be lovely but it's dragged down by the poor, unresponsive staff and a terrible experience overall.

The spa area is tiny. The hot tub is ok but not that hot. The sauna is quite decent. But that's it. A few other rooms with nothing in them.

The women's changing room opens out straight into the main corridor - the "privacy" curtain behind the door does nothing and was open half of the tlme.

The front desk were just really poor as were the therapists - I wasn't convinced mine was even qualified, as my treatment was so poor. The therapist kept stopping throughout what felt like a made up massage. Weird techniques that just didn't feel right compared to the many massages I've had at Champneys etc.

I spotted two other therapists in what seemed to be jogging bottoms who were surly, asking a nice couple repeatedly what their names were like they were stupid - awful!

My package, which was a birthday present, included a glass of prosecco. I asked for juice instead and the receptionist just stood in front of me saying "NO JUICE, NO JUICE". It turned out they had a problem with substituting a £3 glass of juice for a £7 glass of prosecco. I got some in the end but by then I was already feeling unwelcome.

When I asked about the "self-administered" mask, I was told I'd be given it after my massage. It was not - but by that time I just wanted to leave.

The one thing you really need in a spa is a nice, professional team. I have no idea how this place is still open!

Dear customer,

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We’re sorry that your experience didn’t feel as expected, and we’ve looked into the details you mentioned.

Our spa facilities were fully operational during your visit — including the sauna, jacuzzi (kept at standard safe temperature), Hammam, Banya, salt room, and all treatment rooms. The women’s changing room has both a door and a privacy curtain which can be fully closed.

Our therapists always confirm each guest’s name before taking them to their treatment, and all therapists at Euphoria Spa are fully qualified massage therapists or physiotherapists. The self-administered mask is given at the end of the experience, as once it’s applied guests should not re-enter the facilities and must shower properly afterwards.

Regarding the drink included in your package, we do substitute Prosecco for juice when requested. We’re sorry if there was confusion at the desk.

If you would like us to look into anything further, please feel free to contact us at info@euphoriaspa.co.uk.
