I absolutely agree"it's a SCAM"

I absolutely agree with reviewers who say euronet are SCAMMERS AND FRAUDSTERS!!!
I Pressed button to proceed WITHOUT exchange conversion but they did it anyway!!!
They charged 15% YES FIFTEEN PERCENT IN THE RATE!!!!!!
I have used atm's all over the world and have never had a problem until Euronet scammed me!!
DO NOT USE EURONET unless you enjoy having money stolen from your account.
THIS IS THEFT!
EURONET ARE SCAMMERS
This is why all reviews are one star and if minus stars were available that's all euronet would get!!
I complained to this company and they told me that I "pressed the accept button". I DID NOT!
I have used ATM's hundreds of times and NEVER pressed the wrong button.
Also, even if I did make this first in a lifetime mistake, the company add insult to injury by saying that "they constantly check their exchange rates against the competition so as to (YOU CAN LAUGH HERE!) ENSURE that their rates are competitive!
You couldn't make it up!
A 15 percent charge, in their opinion, is competitive.
If it wasn't so financially painful it would be a joke.
Remember, tell ALL your friends, acquaintances, and anyone you think is going to use one of their ATMs NOT TO!
I intend to spend the rest of my life telling as many people as possible about this RIP OFF company.

Never use their ATM!

It’s absolutely scam. Worldwide scam. I just cannot understand why their atm is legal in any country of the world. Never use them or you will lost up to 40% of your money.

Euronet ATM is an absolute ripoff

Euronet ATM is an absolute ripoff. The exchangerate they offer is criminal. I was in Marbella Spain, bad enough, but now I’m in Bulgaria and it’s much worse. Unfortunately I did not get a receipt this time around as proof but next time I will with just a small amount for reporting purposes.

Just been ripped off in Porto

Just been ripped off in Porto in Portugal withdrawing Euro from a UK bank account using a Euronet ATM machine. I didn’t know it was dodgy, and didn’t check the exchange rate properly, only to find I received 20% less in Euros than I should have using a bank ATM. A full 20% “stolen” in charges and a terrible exchange rate. What can be done? Nothing. Will just avoid Euronet in the future and check the exchange rate first before withdrawing money from any ATM.

Scam, avoid

At Rome Airport. I chose to decline the conversion, but the rip-off Euronet booked for the transaction, EVEN though I declined. So I had to contact my bank to start a complaint case that takes up to 90! days.
Avoid at any costs

AVOID EURONET

FIRST, THEY REQUIRE YOUR PIN NUMBER : that is illegal. The pin number has to be asked once all details of the transaction have been completed. By submitting
the pin number first, the ATM can then apply any rule they want to the fee and exchange rate .
Then after choosing desired amount the screen will quickly show a high usage fee (E4,95) followed by the transaction amount with a very unfavorable exchange rate.
At that stage, it is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel the transaction: the money comes out and NO RECEIPT
And of course, customer service has been well trained to discourage any caller. Bad faith is their rule. This happened in France.

Avoid

Avoid! Not only are the fees a complete ripoff, but when you realize how you're about to get robbed and hit Decline, it completes the transaction anyway.

These ATMs in Prague are to be avoided…

These ATMs in Prague are to be avoided at all costs due to high fees and unfavorable exchange rates, as well as the illegal installation of ATMs into the facades of historical buildings and heritage sites without permission, sometimes causing damage, at times irreversible, to these facades.

Thank you for sharing your opinion about our service. Let us get into the points you make:

When it comes to the currency conversion service, clients always have three options to choose from:

1. The exchange rate offered by the ATM (displayed on screen), or
2. The conversion rate offered by their bank (which will be revealed at a later date on the customer's bank statement) ,or
3. Cancel the transaction all together without any cost.

Regarding the preservation of historical buildings, please note that all ATM installation respect national heritage and abide to the applicable law and regulations.

Will force their unfair conversion rate on you

Withdrew €400 euros from a machine in France. The screen gives you their inflated conversion rates with the options "DECLINE CONVERSION" or "ACCEPT CONVERSION". I selected decline. The next screen then gives you the option to be charged in your home currency (GBP for me) at the same conversion rate, or the ATM currency (Euros in this case). Except the buttons do not align with the options on screen, to try and deceive you into their conversion option. Euros was the second option, so I pressed the second button, but I was still charged in GBP with their conversion at a cost of £50, despite explicitly declining this on the previous screen and attempting to select Euros on the final screen. Customer support just call you stupid.

Thank you for your message. We are sorry to hear about this confusion. Please note our fees are clearly displayed on the ATM screen, and our customers have the following options when it comes to the currency conversion service that you used:

1. Customers can chose the exchange rate offered by the ATM (displayed on screen), or
2. Choose the conversion rate offered by their bank (which will be revealed at a later date on the customer's bank statement) ,or
3. Opt for canceling the transaction all together without any cost.

Moreover, please note that a separate flat fee (Direct Access Fee) may apply to cover the costs of operating the ATM and making cash available 24x7.

If something is not clear, please contact our customer service team via our website at www.euronetatms.com.

A scam

A scam
I was asked if I would like to use their conversion (a markup of 15%) but they that no normal person would do that so they ask again but with a different phrasing
This is how maffias operate and Im sure there is a reason why they only “allow) their ATMs in many places…
Simply put this is not a serious company and they should not be allowed frankly

All I can say is that Euronet ATMs have…

All I can say is that Euronet ATMs have literally saved my life so many times... during covid my bank branches in the local area closed. I don't know how we would manage without euronet. Also, their atms are there when I travel and I don't need to think about cash when preparing for the trip. I know it is not a cheap cash but when I need to withdraw it before my trip, it means a journey to the other side of town (1st cost). Then, visiting an exchange point (another cost and commission). So in the end, I prefer to save time and just withdraw it abroad when I need it. And I'm ok for paying some extra fee for this service as I believe they also have their cost of running such a business. I don't understand how people can expect that the cash is there for free when it is not free even at your bank (you pay for the bank cashout or for the card usage monthly...).

Euronet ATM rip off.

Last week I took €200 from an ATM in Marseille. I always check and make sure I am charged in Euros. This time the ATM screen was very confusing and I ended up not only being charged in GBP but also paying a €20 charge to Euronet. It is a complete rip off. After receiving the cash my receipt said, in English, "I have been offered a choice of currencies and have chosen to accept DCC and pay in GBP at the exchange rate provided by E360F". As I said the screen was very confusing.

Euronet ATM is a scam…

Very worse experience with Euronet ATM at Lisbon, Portugal. I withdrew 150 euro and was charged 184.02 euro without a receipt charged by Euronet ATM from my debt card. The reason for extra 34 euro was because my home bank waved the fees. It's totally insane and ridiculous. Euronet has installed ATM at tourist area mainly and didn't mention extra charges to the consumers in advance. Does anyone know the regulator who oversees Euronet business?
To Euronet reply:
I had no problem with the charge of admin fee of 4.95 and exchange rate displayed on the screen; but complained the hind charge that not mentioned to the consumer in advance. I reported to the bank and was told that they had no control over the ATM internationally and advised to contact Euronet directly. But the on-line link of customer service for Euronet ATM has never worked, always error messages after submitting my messages. I had to guess that it's might be a strategy to discourage complainers.

Dear Lisa,

Thank you for sharing your experience with our Lisbon ATM and are sorry it did not meet your expectations. We would like however to clarify a few points.

Euronet ATMs clearly display all applicable fees on the screen for every transaction, in compliance with European regulations and card network rules. A fixed fee applies to all cash withdrawals in Portugal. For international transactions, our ATMs offer a choice between a) your bank's exchange rate or b) Euronet's rate shown on the screen. You can also cancel the transaction at any time without any fees.

The above fees cover the costs of providing a global reliable 24/7 ATM service, which involves significant operational expenses. On this basis, our rates are competitive and comparable.

On the other hand, Euronet cannot be aware of any fee waivers from your card issuer and, therefore, we propose that you clarify directly with them.

If needed, you can initiate a Charge Back process by contacting your bank and making a claim. Your bank will then work with Euronet to resolve the issue.

We remain at your disposal.

Même mésaventure

Même mésaventure. 4,95€ de frais non annoncés sur le distributeur de billets. Incroyable que ce type d'arnaque puisse encore exister.

@Euronet: Thank you for your reply. It would be more useful to provide a screenshot of your cash dispenser showing where the fare information is located. This screenshot could appear on the web page you have given me. If the fare information escapes many users, it is because it is well hidden. I therefore suspect that your practice is abusive.

@Euronet: Concerning your last update: No, you did not contact me via TrustPilot.

@Euronet: Concerning your last update: I gave you my email address and never received any email from you. My only request is to see the screenshot of your cash dispenser where the transaction fees are shown, nothing else. This is public information that could appear on your website. You do not need my further personal information for this purpose.
