In 1928, two men shared a dream of providing a quality insurance product at a reasonable price. In the decades that followed we’ve grown and adapted to meet the changing needs of Americans. But one constant has remained: We have an unwavering commitment to uphold our founding ideals to provide industry-leading products and first-rate services to the customers we’re privileged to serve. Different Eras, Same Exceptional Service Farmers not only prides itself on helping you plan wisely for the unexpected, but also on helping restore order when it occurs, so you can keep moving along the road of your life’s plans. In 1959 a Farmers customer wrote us a letter of surprised gratitude when his car battery was replaced just an hour after it was stolen. A letter from a couple in 2002 wrote that their Farmers agent and Claims Adjuster “were exceptional in their handling of our grief, what we needed to do, and helpful in many other ways.” That same year, when Hurricane Rita struck Beaumont, Texas, Farmers sent 300 agents to assess damages while policy holders were evacuated. Farmers also donated $100,000 for the city’s emergency operations center and two megawatt generators that restored power to Beaumont. Whatever year or decade a disaster occurs, you can count on us to be there for you. Today, the companies comprising the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies make up one of the country's largest insurers of vehicles, homes and small businesses and provide a wide range of other insurance and financial services products. Farmers is proud to serve more than 10 million households with more than 19 million individual policies across all 50 states through the efforts of over 48,000 exclusive and independent agents and nearly 21,000 employees. The Farmers Exchanges are three reciprocal insurers (Farmers Insurance Exchange, Fire Insurance Exchange and Truck Insurance Exchange) owned by their policyholders, and together with their subsidiaries and affiliates comprise the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies. Farmers Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries, in their capacity as attorneys-in-fact, provide administrative and management services to the Farmers Exchanges. Our Story Our story began with the simple goal of insuring the vehicles of rural farmers but as the world changed, so did we. Visit our timeline for a tour through the decades of Farmers.

Do not insure your home with Farmers…

Do not insure your home with Farmers Insurance. They will gratefully accept your premium dollars for years, and, then, for no reasonable explanation, cancel your policy without any discussions or negotiations. Their typical sales rep is useless in these matters. Avoid them at all cost!

I respectively seek a clear

I respectively seek a clear and transparent disclosure of your fee structure, should this not be provided, I will be compelled to transfer my entire portfolio into “Easy _beee”. I have found their platform to be more efficient, featuring a more flexible fee structure and offering greater reliability compared to this firm.

Avoid!!! Beware

Despite my initial attraction to their diverse insurance option, my overall experience has been satisfactory. Timely assistance is vital in financial sector and unfortunately this specific features fell short of my expectations. I never faced such issue with “Easy bee” a program that has consistently proven to be beneficial in my life.

Still waiting on my refund after cancelling Dec. 6th.

When I purchased my Home 1 year ago in October my Real Estate suggested Farmers Insurance & I spoke with Nicholas Chupp & because I was in the middle of my closing & inspections I did not want to go through the hassle of switching my 4 vehicles as well so he quoted me $787.00 so now I find out a year later that Farmers raised me to $1500 I found same coverage through Auto Owners for $1051 & now I am still waiting for my refund since Dec. 6th so when I called the office yesterday Jeff said well Peggy if you don't receive the refund by New Year then give us a call back. Merry Christmas!!!

This company doesn't care nor do their job right

I was rear-ended on Sept 2nd by a kid that was too busy on their phone and my car was completely totaled. I didn't have the whole information of the child driver because the car originally belonged and is insured by dad when i gotten the police report weeks later, so i filed through farmers to help me out to go after them like they had done before with my 1st car that was also rear-ended. It took several phone calls, several reminders to get farmers to tow my vehicle literally a month after the accident, took a whole other month for power of attorney title to be correct and sent to me and one last month to finalize the payout of the vehicle because it was still being paid for. All while waiting for 3 months, i couldn't get another car to keep my job, farmers literally jacked mynprice up from 380 to 800, taking my whole paycheck. After everything was settled and that i had canceled my insurance with them because i was just done with their games, they wanna bill me 3k of what i owe on top of a different policy that was never canceled when i asked for it to be canceled because i moved states before the accident. Never again with them.

I’d give negative stars if possible

I’d give negative stars if possible. We received notice that our homeowners was not going to be renewed because of debris creating unsafe conditions. Our agent, encouraged me to contact the California insurance commission. I did. My backyard is used unconventionally, but now I’m having issue finding homeowners to replace farmers because we now have a reputation as being hoarders. My youngest is autistic and prone to violent outbursts, our backyard is his refuge. Farmers AND the California Insurance Commission DO NOT CARE. Still, container gardens must go, picnic table, chairs, apparently all these things are dangerous debris. Barbecue, fire pit, can’t have any of these things. Is my backyard messy? Yes. Is it dangerous? No.

Customer service responds like a Robot or section-8 Like Government.

We are with Farmers for many years. Pay bills on time. One time an oversight late. they send letters like it will be cancelled immediately after getting thousands of dollar insurance money every year. They do not care cos they already got so much. Also, wants 20 dollar late fee. Agent cannot be reached at any time. Customer service answers like Robots

Toggle/Farmers Insurance...Worst experience ever!!!!

If I could give I negative I would. My mom was hit in her parking lot where she lives by a gentleman that was insured by Toggle which is affiliated with Farmers. The worst experience ever!!!! The accident happened in July and we are still dealing with them. It is impossible to get a hold of anyone. You end up talking to many different people that all give you a different answer. It is basically a run around. It has caused my mom an undue amount of stress. I would not recommend them to anyone and I pray for anyone that is in an accident with one of their clients.

I've had Farmers for 4 years

I've had Farmers for 4 years, CAR and HOME insurance. Both policies went up considerably upon renewal, we focused on the CAR insurance because it had the biggest impact. It went up by 55% upping our monthly payment by an additional $150. We first received a request to upload documents ( odometer, car pics etc) we did, within 24 hours of receiving the notification. A month later we receive a letter saying our policy will not be renewed at the end of December 23 because we failed to send the documents. ( we have proof we did) So our Local agent stepped in to support. She had no issues reviewing the documents we had uploaded previously but for safety measure, went ahead and uploaded them again. Then a week later we got another letter from farmers, saying they would be canceling our policy " PER OUR REQUEST" at the end of December 23. Once again our local agent steps in and finds out that farmers is saying to just "Write up " a new policy and they will cancel that one. ( i guess so they can justify the gross increase in the premium) Our agent also found out that farmers is not allowing them to add the low mileage discount anymore and it has to be done by the underwriter directly at farmers, so she advised us to call them one more time. we did , the rep that picked up the called refused to transfer me to the underwriting department, citing inability to do anything with this policy. really? and all they could tell us is the the underwriting department never received the paperwork we and our local agent uploaded, and that is the reason for the no renewal notice. Overall, a lame embarrassing response , refusal to let us even talk to the correct department to get more details. When told we didn't request to cancel the policy, they kept PARROTING the same thing. there is nothing i can do.

If farmers is going to grossly raise their premiums they should at least have the decency to talk to customers with transparency and not play these gaslighting games.
DO BETTER FARMERS.

This place is the worst

This place is the worst. They don’t protect their customers and always siding with the other party so they don’t have to pay out. Horrible customer service and a waste of time!

They allowed my ex husband to cancel…

They allowed my ex husband to cancel our policy, then let him use my money to start his new policy. I have talked to them and say that they can't help me, and I said it was my card my money. They then wanted to change me next to $400.00, because I had gone without insurance for more than 5 days, yet they didn't notify me of what was happening.

Poor service

Poor service! After having a car accident of where we were stopped at a red light, and hit by someone else, they are hard to deal with. After speaking with a different insurance agency that goes through many companies, she said she has heard of several people having issues with them as well. Do not trust them!

Horrible

Farmers insurance is terrible when you get a new car and try to transfer your previous car’s policy over. They will tell you your premium increased by 5x because of a newer model and try to convince you that your car’s VIN number shows that the car costs double that of what it actually is. And then when you try to cancel your policy they will tell you that you owe them when all your payments were up to date. I was given the run around for a week when I inquired about my monthly payment increase and was told they would investigate and get back to me in a few days but no one did. Who knows what kind of investigations this company does. No one gives you answer for why your monthly payment jumped 3x the previous car’s payment when you bought the exact same car only a newer version of it and it’s just the base model. Each department tells you something different and try to justify why you owe them an extra month’s payment.

Worst experience with an insurance company…

John Del Tatto knows nothing about customer service. I was in two accidents, no fault and yet I was reported on accident bureau as the person who caused these accidents.
As a result I am being held ransome by Farmers and the above mentioned person. My auto premium has more than doubled. This man is responsible for this mess yet he refused to talk to me. He has ignored all my messages and e-mails.
Public please be aware of Farmers Insurance!!! They are crooks.
