DO NOT TRUST MEMBER TERESE. English is my second language and when I attended an inspection at one of the 13 properties Terese is advertising, she stole money out of my account. I did not understand what she was doing till the money had been removed out of my account. Do not be fooled by this person.
This has been reported to Police and Flatmates.com (hope they remove you off this site)

Wrongly banned after they heard one side of a story .
Leased a room to a crazy person who assaulted me on the day she was moving out . She went to Flatmates.com.au and had me banned , they banned me without even hearing my side or even proof from the police . (Crazy chick submitted a police report and submitted it to flat mate) No charges were even laid because even the police said she was erratic. When I tried questioning the banned they told me submit and they will review, didn’t event have to professionalism to tell me they just straight up banned me. Apparently their community standards are guilty until proven innocent . Maybe if they did police checks for all parties involved there wouldn’t be so many bad reviews .

We have used flatemates.com.au several times for over 3 years. This site is misleading deceptive with fake advertisements conning the public.
Most post are FAKE, MADE UP LIES BY FLATEMATES.COM.AU.
The reason why flatemates.com.au offer an extra month if a flatemate is not found as flatemates.com.au scam the consumer in the first place. Most profiles are deceptive lies and dangerous. DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE AS YOUR HOME WILL BE ROBBED.

I was going to place an add on Flatmates a couple of days ago and before it got to the activation stage it was pending. Whenever I have advertised in the past , and have been a loyal client since 2015 , the ad activated promptly.

I sent flatmates support a message and they said my account was suspended as I had violated their conditions. This is news to me as I see many ads on Flatmates where they have shared rooms. The advertised space was a private area without any other tenants.’

I would have loved an explanation and if it didn’t fit their criteria, I gladly would not have put up the listing. I would like to know what I did wrong as I have used Flatmates for 8 years without any hassles. I always respect those who message me and respond promptly.

Extremely bad experience. The site showed there are 3 ads available in my area but you must buy a subscription to message them. So, i bought subscription but after I messaged them. none responded. In fact, the ads are still live there. It seems like some ads are fake. The site is a bogus, waste of time and money.

Cost money just to message have of the people on there and no numbers.

Terrible experience. Many fake accounts and it’s hard to tell them apart. Although I payed for the service to be able to sent messages instantly my messages got delayed and hold back for couple of days with the excuse of „security checks“. What a joke?!

Bad website, very bad customer service (snowflakes), too many fake accounts. Lots of ads where I was getting lots of scammers calling me after signing up.

Full of fake profile bots and people who are slobs and can't rent a place if there own. Stay away

Not worth paying money in order to contact Early Bird listings.

First, even if i pay for it and send numerous messages - more than 20, i ended up with only one or two replys. What is the point of paying extras when you get almost no replys?

Second,the paid service will not last long. I paid $25 for the 10 days membership and failed, And paid again to extend the membership but still failed to get decent numbers of replys from the people who list thier rooms.

Third, there are so many listers who leave thier listings on even after the rooms became unavailable. Flatmate.com.au don't do anything about it. You will become a false hoper.

Don't spend time and money on this web site. You will get better responses using Facebook and Gumtree

BEWARE! Flatmates has no idea how to resolve residential tenancies issues by following the relevant government legislation, nor do they act in a fair & impartial manner. Accordingly, Flatmates is not the proper authorised body & forum to resolve such residential tensncies disputes as they are not a tribunal. But somehow Flatmates have decided and convinced themselves they have that power & act like the schoolyard bully. Flatmates is a big lawsuit waiting to happen.

I listed my room and decided to pay the basic fee so I call the person looking for a room if they gave their number. I rang a lady that sounded a possibility. We spoke for a little while and I decided to let her come and see me the next day. She saw the house and the room and paid the bond on the spot so I could not give the room to anyone else. I am very happy with her, she is married but her husband is in Sydney. She is fully employed and well referenced. I am so happy. 24 hours thanks to flatmate. Thank you.

I can't believe I wasted my time using this garbage website. Lots of spam as well as political correctness messages. I found Gumtree a better platform where I have many inspections lined up this week.

If I could give a zero stars I would. The accommodation had mould every where including the ceiling, the windows were broken, and broken glass was still in the window, just covered by the curtains. Another window was missing and grey sticky tape was replacing the whole window. The toilet was leaking and the plastic cistern was cracked. The agents promised to refund money but that did not happen. Stay away. Lost 1.1k for this riveting experience. Never again.

Don't use Flatmates there is no support when things go wrong and bond is lost

After signing up to this site more than once, I received a lot of spam on my phone as well as scammers calling me. I had to change my number more than once where this time I'm using other websites to find a new place to live now. I can see regarding the reviews below, I'm not the only person having these issues where this website brings nothing but trouble to your life from reading other reviews.

Over the years advertising for a flatmate, I have found 3 great flatmates back to back over a 5 year span, all of my flatmates were through this website & I s add m still very good friends with them all! Flatmates.com are very supportive & look after their members & respond very quickly to all inquiries & always find a quick solution that is in your best interest as a member. I love that I don’t have to re-do my advertisement from scratch I just activate & tweak any updates under edit mode & it is immediately updated! I have found the right flatmate very quickly & even during the very difficult time of Covid19 flatmates.com did not hesitate to support me by extending my membership for an additional month for free to ensure I found the right flatmste. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Professional website, easy to use, support team respond very quickly & address your inquiry with a great outcome, excellent service flatmates.com keep doing what your doing you! I setup a new listing today on FM where it was pending for half a day. On Gumtree and Flatmatefinder it was live right away. I just logged on tonight and it's saying I'm banned. No email or information was send to me regarding why I was banned. I think I'll stick to Gumtree and Flatematefinder, it's alot easier to setup your listing and are trouble free compared to Flatmates.

Don't waste your time like I did with this site. The customer service doesn't exist here. I manage to get a reply after half a week after sending many messages. The layout is ugly and way to big. Other websites have the listing small so you can easily scroll. You block someone by accident and you can't unblock them. I wish I never wasted my time with this site where I found a new place to live easily on Gumtree.

Almost all of the listings are tagged in too many categories so you can't filter them out of results.

Almost all of the listings are made by real estate agents. I do not want to read real estate listings, I want advertisements from people who are not in the real estate industry. This is a frustrating waste of time, energy and money.

You cannot filter out ads that exclude you, for example, you cannot filter out "student only" or "female only".

The guatantee is also a scam. They claim you will have premium features until you find a place, but then they ask you for more money.

I'm sure that you sold my phone number to some database the second I signed up too. Scam calls are much more common since signing up here. Avoid
