I am really pissed off. I have using flatmates to advertise my rooms for rent using full plan, basic or boost plans. It worked all the time. This lastest payment invoice No. 1800776, having $8.99 which is supposed to allow me to view member phone nos, send and receive messages but it doesn't allow me. There is no way for me to contact anyone re this problem.

I had such a bad experience on this website. For one, once you block someone by accident, you can't unblock them. The display pictures are way to big for my screen. Customer service was unhelpful.

Using this website has been a total nightmare. Go somewhere else, it's not worth your time.

About 2 years ago I found a room at Mary pleasant place Birkdale. I was there for 3 months and was told I had to leave by the tenant Ramona Wilkins. When I was packing up to leave she demanded money and got physically violent.She locked me out of the unit. I called the police because my medication was still in the house. I had to get my son to move me out because she wanted to keep all my furniture and my plasma TV. She still keeps advertising the same room, this is my 2nd complaint about her. Stop encouraging abusive people. She’s a thief and a liar and her other tenant carries the Rotor virus.

Flatmates is keeping fake early bird accounts on purpose to make people buy premium package. Last 3 years I bought 3 times premium package to message to early bird accounts and all of them was fake or didn’t answer . And flatmates didn’t make any refund. DONT BUY PREMIUM PACKAGE!!!!

This is discussing, I payed the woman the 4 weeks plus 2 weeks in advance , she dictated to me that I had to be moved in on a certain day, but because of covid 19 , and restrictions I moved in 2 weeks later ,and still payed for the 2 weeks I wasn't there for , I can't shut my bedroom door and the first night I was there one of her neighbours broke into my car and stole stuff, and the final thing for me after little announce things that are just normal when U have flatmates was the friday night the landlord and her neighbour/friend got drunk on wine and proceeded to speak crap about me , and didn't realise that they heard you from there room, I put in my 2 weeks notice , and she told me I have a contract and I had to stay for 6mths, I then told her all I have to do is give 2 weeks notice, she thinks she is getting my bond ,but its becoming quite clear ,this is what she does ,she apparently had problems with her last tenant

Piece of shiiit site banned me for no reason at all. Used it many times over the years and they banned me out of the blue without warning.

Cannot believe there is no reporting/blacklisting/banning function of repetitively abusive Landlords.
The two times we have used this site to rent a place out, we have had to seek lawful action against our Landlords, each from a different State.
These Landlords have continued to advertise the properties on here for rent after legal action, under different address and names. Sometimes, they just continue as is.
The site only has the option to "report this ad" and not the Landlord for lying and abusing the site, the site's customer base and the law.
Disgrace.

I've been using this website in the past but I can't stand the new changes. It was way better before REA Group took over the company.

I listed my property today where it went into pending for a long time. I checked back after a couple of hours and it said banned. I will never use this site again!

Note: After reading the reviews below, it looks like I'm not the only person being banned for no reason.

I hate the look of the website. Listings are way too big where I can't see the whole photo.

I had just recently joined up went out to see a property for my first inspection no one was home at the appointed time and house was open called out and knocked went into house to leave a note on table tried messaging owner but no response not sure if was correct mobile number than someone arrives at house who looked nothing like his advert photo and yelled at me told me get the f*"out of his house otherwise he would call the police he didn't give me time to explain he scared me he was very angry and upset,I tried to explain but he didn't listen and than I left running out the door in tears.Very reluctant to have another viewing again if this is the treatment I will get!The whole experience was very upsetting!

I have advertised a room and never had anyone is interested! and the idea of not letting people message freely unless paying for expensive plans!

Everyone sends you a message saying they are interested but won't show or inspect. I believe most of these people are fake accounts created by Flatmates to get you to waste your money in signing up. This would explain so many 1 star reviews here and on Productreview. Had better luck with Gumtree and Flatmatefinder.

I found a beautiful house and went for inspection. The lady told me that her daughters had moved out and I believed her because I didn’t see her daughters when I go for inspection. I paid the bond before I moved in n paid one month rent when I moved in and only to found out that her two daughters are living with her in the living room in the same house.
When I moved in The landlord lady hand written a rental bond contract for me n we both signed that contract didn’t mention the lease period, only mentioned that I need to give her two week notice before I move out to get the bond back.
And when I did gave two weeks notice, she didn’t say anything. On the day I moved out, she refused to return my bond n said m supposed to stay until the end of the year which did not mention in the contract.

I would not recommend this Flatmates to anyone. The host/landlord can do whatever they want, lied and lure ppl to pay for the room. Flatmates only act as peer to peer listing. No responsibility of how the private landlord mistreat and act toward the tenants. You’re on your own.
For the future tenants, I wouldn’t want anyone to go through this bad experience. Lost time, money and your effort of moving in and out. Not worth it!

Excellent place to find roommates or Flatmates

I had advertise on flatmates and hardly had any people interested, I even brought the price down and I took photos which you didn’t show them on flatmates.com, also they said if I pay extra money then I’ll do more extensive advertising,& all I did was show me pictures of the previous people that were looking for accommodation and when you contact them they don’t bother getting back to you!! The whole system is very poor and not user friendly at all!

Ok I understand that we have to pay but I have had 2 instances of places I was very keen on however the lessor didn’t even have the courtesy of responding to my messages. Now if I am paying for this service shouldn’t there be some accountability from the lessors end to at least respond as a matter of respect?

Every time I have used this website I have been exposed to scam artists, cons and liars.
I would suggest anyone using this website check the details and legitimacy of applicants. Certainly a platform which seems to attract unsavoury customers.
